You are not wrong, but she has said that she’s still Catholic and only attends because of her Hubby’s beliefs.
You can’t stop attending mass for years and attend another church because your husband is protestant. Your still oblidged to attend mass. Heaton is mistaken you are where you attend church. You can call youself catholic but if you drinking the grape juice in the Presbyterian Church and missing the Cup of Blood at Mass your commiting a mortal sin and have disqualifed yourself as a practicing Catholic. This becomes more problematic as it appears she baptized her children catholic but broke the vow of raising them in the church and now raises them elsewhere. Sorry the catholic nuptials are under the explcicit directions that all baptized catholic children remain in the church no matter what your husband believes.

Peter Boyle. He was a Catholic (He was in a monastary for three years) but I don’t know if he maintained his Catholicism to his death, but I think so.
No he left the monastary and became communist like in his beliefs so ergo there is no God. He died outside the church and did not recieve a Catholic burial it appears he dropped the faith altogether, there is always hope of a bedside reconversion but officailly he died outside the graces of the church, no last rites no catholic burial, pretty sad for a former monastic.

Here’s a gigantic list of famous Catholics (not only in Hollywood)

Uh yeah, including Hitler, Mussolini and Fidel Castro. 😦

I know of course we can’t know anyone’s current state of grace, but it would be nice to have a list of “celebrities” (hate that word) who **currently **(or at their death if deceased) appear to be sincere practising Catholics. There doesn’t seem to be one, just lists which lump them together with strictly nominal or ex-Catholics.

Hitler and Castro were never church going catholic they never got confirmed they were baptized that’s the extent of their catholcism. After baptism they rejected what little faith was handed down to them in favor of Nazi and Communist idealogy.
Heck Stalin went to Orthdox Seminary and nearly became an Orthodox Priest but his religion doesn’t seem to come up as the association with Hitler and Catholcism which aside from baptism was nearly non-existent. He was far more into the occult than anything else as a religion his proper religion should be under that not catholcism if these media sites were truly honest about the manner. This is akin to saying Satan is still on the side of God because once upon a time he was cherebum and ond of God’s favorites. Look Satan and Hitler both made choices that erased them from origiens of being in the good graces of God.

Thankfully I am no longer married. My life, generally speaking, is private. I am not on the cover of multiple magazines. No, being in the public eye does not mean “open season”. But don’t say what a “good Catholic” you are from a bedroom you ought not be in prior to marriage.

Kathy
Why not? Even then only God knows their heart.

As I recall, the bible had a few less than savory charactors who done much worse to their fellow man and God still said they were after his own heart.

Best summary of this problem was in Chesterton, talking about charges that Hitler was a Catholic:
He was baptized Catholic. By the same standard, Huxley was an Anglican.
(referring to famous atheist and Darwin populariser Thomas Huxley)

Here goes:
  1. Gary Cooper (convert)
  2. John Wayne (convert)
  3. Bob Hope (convert)
  4. Mel Gibson (probable schismatic)
  5. Peter Weller
  6. Martin Sheen (revert)
  7. Alec Gunneiss (convert)
  8. Patrick McGoohan
Everyone, feel free to add to the list 🙂
Martin Sheen is funny as I remember him narrating a Medjugorje video and yet I am told that he is Pro-Choice.

I wonder if Tony Shaloub is Catholic as he is from Lebanon and his first name is actually Anthony. From the shows I have seen him on he protrays a good Catholic.

She may have gotten her marriage to Mr. Cruise annulled, but I wonder if she and Mr. Urban were chaste prior to their marriage.
No offense intended, but I seriously wonder what that has to do with her being Catholic? Does sinning make her a “non Catholic” or a Catholic in name only? How do we know what is spoken in the confessional or what is in her heart, you know?

Don’t forget Catherine Hicks!!!

:yup: I like what she says here…

one of the good things about our times, is that whatever
issue you have, you CAN find help with just a few phone
calls. So, please seek out the many wonderful people just
waiting to help you in your town. I pray for all of you, and
encourage you to pray for yourselves and others. If you
are Catholic, I suggest going to Mass and saying the
Rosary. It helps you to pray
. And other religions, use
established prayers, and visit your places of worship.”

I never knew she was Catholic. I used to watch “7th Heaven” a long time ago BEFORE they all “grew up” and became less innocent. We stopped watching the show years before the last season. The youngest one was always getting on my last nerve. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/Wacko.gif

Martin Sheen is falsely identified with being pro-choice because he is liberal in just about most of his other politics. One of the liberal organizations printed his name without his permission for a pro-choice ad he asked to be removed from the list and a retraction done however the damage was done as the origianal ad for him supporting the pro-choice movement was already out there. But he obviously took the time out to be removed from the list indicating he does not approve of the movement. But yeah his poltiics is pretty looney but he has not endorsed the pro-choice abortion movement as has been falsely reported in conservative circles.

She was a Quaker before she converted to Catholicism. She didn’t think that Catholics were Christian, and now she’s a Catholic Christian. 🙂
When you only read the Protestant bible, I find you cannot truly even consider Catholics as Christians, because there is little support of Purgatory, prayers for the dead and other minor Catholic doctrines… However when you get the full version(which is the Catholic edition of bibles and specifically the Vulgate based versions) and look at it and find out about the actual history of the compilation of the book under the guidance of the Catholic Church, you realize how much every single aspect of any christian faith owes to the Catholic church on every single one of the major doctrines(The trinity, etc) and major sacred scriptures.

It was the first church, and in being the first church, is the Church founded by Christ on Peter the rock.

Hollywood is liberal, but its liberals are sending their kids to Catholic institutions i.e. Marymount High School on Sunset Blvd. It’s right in the middle of Hollywood. Is that hypocrisy or what?

It’s not “hypocrisy” for a “liberal” (I assume you mean “libertine”, i.e. one who generally acts immorally) to do something that is moral and good (send their kids to a Catholic school). Hopefully some Catholic virtues will be inculcated into the kids which they would not have got from their parents.

Sylvester Stillone is a revert who has been a devout Catholic for the past eight years he did an in depth interview for his new movie. He spoke about his return to his Catholicism it was one of the reasons he wrote the new movie.

I liked that show too until Lucy decided to become a reverend. when the church didn’t like the idea, her dad, Revverend Camden said “Women have been good for religion for 2000 years, but religion hasn’t been good to women” or something like that. Turned me off completely.

Wow, I didn’t know this. I think I’ll watch his movie now because of that. I’m curious now. I saw the first and second one but wasn’t interested in the others. But now I want to see his newest one.

Tony Shaloub is a member of the Maronite Catholic Church, which to my knowledge is in full communion with Rome.👍
