Hey SimonX,Paul McCartney (sort of), He was baptized a Catholic and parents were married in a Roman Catholic chapel. I saw him in concert a couple years ago, and he spoke very highly of both his Irish and Catholic heritage during his show.
Is he Hollywood, maybe not like kind of folks described in this thread, but he was in a couple movies in his day.
Oh, and also Paul’s band mate, George Harrison, also born and raised in Catholic home…
I’m not 100% sure Paul McCartney is Catholic, but I could be wrong.
What causes me to doubt his Catholicism is shortly after ‘Let It Be’ was released, he was asked about the opening lyrics (*When I find my self in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, Let It Be…) *His response to the reporter/journalist about an apparent reference to Our Lady was something to the effect of the lyrics were a reference to his mother and not Our Lady; he went on to affirm being a Protestant. I remember because his response was very disappointing to me, and, as many have thought, “Let It Be” was a acknowledging Our Lady!
Again, this is from memory, and I could be completely wrong.
And please, if I am in fact off base, please let me know, I would be delighted to know if Paul McCartney is in fact Catholic!!
