From the Califirnia Catholic Daily (first 3 paragraphs);

“Beyond the confines of the Roman church”
USF theology professor is ordained priest, but not a Catholic one

In a letter printed in the March 21 edition of Catholic San Francisco, Jesuit Father Stephen Privett took author George Weigel to task for saying in a column that Catholicism is “vestigial at best” on Catholic college campuses. In response, Privett said the University of San Francisco, of which he is president, “has a Catholic Studies program; a Catholic focused curriculum in the Theology and Religious Studies Department,” as well as other Catholic-inspired programs and activities.

USF may have all these things, but it also has Vincent Pizzuto, who, besides being assistant professor in the university’s Department of Theology and Religious Studies, is also an ordained priest in the Celtic Christian Church. Pizzuto also serves on the board of directors of the LGBTQ Caucus of the University of San Francisco, which says it was formed in the Fall of 2005 “as a way to promote social justice for LGBTQ people.”

According to the USF web site, “in addition to his teaching, Prof. Pizzuto lectures in local parishes on areas of prayer and spirituality with particular outreach to the gay and lesbian community.”

Oh boy, they have a Catholic focus in their religious studies program.

What about the other disciples. For example, is their 'Women’s Studies" program based on Mulieris Dignitatem? If not, why not?

Brendan,
You’re thinking way too much like a Catholic. That will only initially confuse, then eventually anger, the good folks at USF.

Caveman,

I do hope you were being sarcastic with that last comment. If not I am gonna start worrying about ya.😃

I just read the full article and here is another example of rejecting the truth and authority of the Church. Pray for him and those he leads down the path to destruction.

That priest should be given his day! But what is that so-called “heretical sect”? What makes it heretical?

First of all, he’s not a priest. I can “baptize” a poodle. That doesn’t mean it’s baptized.

Secondly, why should he have “his day”? This man is not a repentant sinner. He’s an active sinner who flaunts his perversion on the face of Holy Mother The Church. If he wants to have “his day”, he can have it in a homosexual house of prostitution. Not a Catholic university.

Lastly, it is a heresy to equate the Sin of Sodom to the Sacrament of Marraige. It’s also a heresy to consider the abomination that is active homosexuality, to be pleasing and acceptable to The Almighty.

Do I really need to point out these basic truths to you, Agangbern?

Bingo! I knew I was correct

Now, would your response had been the same had they ordained an unrepentant adulterer, or perhaps someone who was personally a little too affectionate with a sheep? Just curious as to where you draw your liberal lines.

Difference is beastality is unnatural, being gay is not.

Not according to the one who is attracted to a sheep.

And, by the way, there are those who justify adultery as natural since attraction to your neighbor’s wife can be deemed natural. You haven’t helped your case yet.
