Except for the people really hurting and being taken in by the organizers’ big lie…

I just had the thought… I’d really like to meet you guys in heaven some day…!

Also, per another post, I’ve now read some data that when we let in people from Italy, I’m sure 95% or more were good people, but I have read that perhaps, some of the criminal element could have been vetted out. Voila, organized crime has now been a problem for some time
Am I the only one who took this as one of those broad (and false) statements similar to what Trump said about Mexicans that has been made about every ethnic group that has migrated to this country?

Victoria normally reports what she reads.
I do not think she meant anything like that.
And for the case, frankly, not that Trump meant it either. He can mess up quite a lot with his twits.
But well,it is like that. Room for improvent,we all have…
Peace on earth!

One can not care what is politically correct because that does not mean it is correct. We need to get things done in this country.

I don’t know of anyone who is for lenient border enforcement. I do see people who are for lenient consideration at legal points of entry to those who are claiming asylum.
Lenient consideration equals leniency.

If the Democrats want to loosen the laws,…
They don’t. They want the existing laws to be followed. One of those laws is that anyone may apply for asylum, whether or not they entered the country through a port of entry. But Trump wants to change or ignore that law by ruling that no consideration will be given to those who entered illegally. If you are going to complain about ignoring the law, make sure you cite who it is who wants to ignore the law.

Okay, I have an open mind, where did people who formed the Mafia come from? Timbuktu? India?

Is one arguing that those illegally immigrating into this country should not be vetted? Or for the record, legal immigrants?

Is one denying that a number of Americans like Mollie Tibbets and it may happen even with more frequency than that, are killed by those who are illegally in this country? How is Trump wrong? How is the stateme t false?

Israel was formed after the Shoah of World War 2, I find it difficult to hear someone dismiss Israel as another country like, for example, Paraguay or Denmark when they have their unique history as every country has a unique history. Perhaps, they are not versed in the Holocaust, there are many learning materials on this matter, movies and even a national museum. Yet, despite this and yes, Israel is not a large country, they have strict immigration and those in some of the occupied areas are not given voting rights. Yes, I do believe this is relevant and significant.

I suspect the people who formed the Mafia came from Italy, and actually a very small part of Italy. But most Popes also came from Italy.

I said nothing about whether or not people coming to this country should be vetted. They should be. But that has nothing to do with broad brush statements about people based on their ethnic heritage or country of origin.

I resent any inferences of making broadbrushed statements. Saying nothing may mean, nothing is done. If it is the truth, then it is the truth.

I read it that Italians weren’t vetted strongly enough and thus “mafia”.

I take offense at that because it’s a tired stereotype that Italian Americans are mafia tolerant.

Organized crime (not just Italian organized crime,) exists in all countries.

In 2018 the stereotype should really not be brought up casually.

What’s next? C
But most Popes also came from Italy.

I thought Pope Francis condemned the mafia. Those must be broadbrushed statments as well. And pardon me, I must have missed the Italian American Pope.

That was basically saying the same thing as I just said.

Did anyone notice this? We Are told not to bear false witness either, I haven’t heard it explained what the President said that was false. Also, please don’t use your accusations, possibly false, that it is just someone making broadbrush statenents. That does not make a statement false NOR even a broadbrushed statement.

We vet people who enter our country. Are we suppose to see a Japanese Buddhist and a Syrian Sunni Muslim in the same light?

Good and bad can be found on all or nearly all people, this should not be a hindrance to discussing issues.

It’s a fact of life, one can say school and mass shootings are committed by mostly white males, latter teens to 20s, usually up to the mid-20s but this guy in California was 29 so basically fell into the demographic. So what? It is a detail and 96% or more of those of that age and color do not do these things.

For the record, the man a cusex of killing Whitey Bulger is Fotios Geas, there was just a conviction in Rhode Island of a kind of hit as well. This is clearly, not all in the past.

Then, if that is one’s view, I would argue that Islam is a Theocracy vs being a religion. A whole system, hence, the Islamic Republic of Iran, it’s a whole sysyem, government and so on. ISIS established a Caliphate, an Islamic government.
I will go by our Founding Fathers and a system based on Judeo Christain values.

Also Gangs of New York certainly is based on fact, as things in that movie did occur.

Obviously organized crime exists (although neither Bulger or Geos are Italian btw)

The stereotype of linking Italians Americans to the mafia is old. And tiring.

It is the most dangerous country or top most.
I read also there is a death every 90’ and 90℅ of the crimes go unpunished. Must be more than tough to live there.
Similar to the U.S. right now. Mass shootings, pipe bombs through a postal service, opiate epidemic, illiteracy, large portions of the population uninsured, PTSD for war weary vets, but the military industrial complex is hailed as mauvelous dahling, simply mauvelous.

300,200,000, forget that? Let"s see, it is a great tragedy when any of these incidences happen but it’s a huge population and I’ll bet a dollar to a donut, many try coming here legally. Our neighbors across the street are Sudanese. So, sure, every country has problems, opioids come in, more law enforcement is needed at points of entry. Good point.

Oh, and never, forget, one of the greatest evils is abortion which has gone on for about 45 years, easily dwarfing the wrongs mentioned
