Well, I’m going to have pulled pork for dinner with my friend Kareem, he left Tunisia and he rejects many of the tenants of Islam.

Won’t worry about honor killings or a lot of those things anymore. He left the faith.

I’m going to eat from Mohammed’s food cart and, although I know (obviously) that he left Egypt, I have no idea whether or not he rejects all or any of the tenets of Islam.

I mean, why would I care? Good food at a good price.

Good choice by him. Maybe he’ll convert, eh?

I couldn’t stop myself, I just had to look it up. All I can say is, Ewwww. I have something to top that though, you should look up mango worm videos.

I shudder to think what the response of his effeminate predecessor would have been. He did his best to emasculate our nation in his eight years of tyranny.
(emphasis added)

Wow, the rhetoric is really getting over the top around here.

But nothing new. Another poster once called President Obama a “househusband,” and not a real man, because, before he was president, his wife made more money than he did.

And then the same poster said I was just a “househusband,” and not a real man, because, like Obama, my wife makes more money than I do.

“Effeminate?” Really?

Please, people, are we not learning yet that we have to tone down the invective a bit?

Back to this: I think the reason Americans are not concerned about illegal Irish immigrants is that compares to illegal immigrants in total or from Mexico, Irish are most definitely not “a ton,” nor “a shed load.” There are fewer than 180,000 Irish illegal immigrants, according to those who study this sort of thing, who do not even include the Irish as their own category.

So the Irish apparently comprise less than 1.5% of the total population of illegal immigrants.

It is true that we rarely hear anyone advocate for open borders, but with each large wave of illegal immigrants, there is a contingent of Americans saying for this or that emotional reason, we should let them in.

When the issue of illegal immigrants came up in the 2000’s, people said, they’re just trying to make a better life for themselves, then, they’re trying to escape starvation (in a nation with very low starvation rates).

And so on and so forth. Nah, no one is advocating open borders, they are just finding separate reasons to let pretty much any group come in.

Try marching into your local police department with a horde and see what happens. You’ll be met with force. Or try doing the same at the home of any of the politicians who support this horde. If they themselves are armed and certainly if law enforcement is there then you’ll be met with force. I don’t see why our borders should be any different.

Yes. Try invading the home of an armed citizen. Just kick the door open and rush in. See what happens. The citizen is under no obligation to ask questions, determine motives, etc.

In this case, we know they are coming. I’m sure that if they do try to march across the US / Mexico border, the force used to repel them will be appropriate to the situation. Regardless, regular military is the appropriate arm with which to repel any such invasion. Invasion, armed or otherwise, is a hostile act. It is aggression, just as surely as entering someone’s home uninvited is.

I’m not sure why sending the military to stop the invasion will necessary lead to bloodshed. If there is enough of a presence with tanks and other barriers it wouldn’t be too hard to round them up into busses and drive them right back to where they came from. It can be done humanely. Supply them with medical care, food, water. Sure there will be some who try and resist but I’m sure the trained military can deal with them. If they even make it all the way here they will be so tired and probably hungry and thirsty that I can’t see them putting up much resistance. It’s kind of the main job of the military to protect the country from foreign invasion. There is not much use in having a borders if thousands of are allowed to cross them and remain in the country without any resistance.

Zach, maybe our government could just pay them to go away, like the ancient Romans did with land grants on the empire’s fringes, or the Carolingian heirs did with the Vikings. How did that work out, anyway?

How is transporting them back to their country giving them land on our fringes? The alternatives are allowing them in the country or bloodshed. I’ll go with sending them back humanely.

I was being facetious. I favor giving them any necessary humanitarian aid, but that’s it. We’re under no obligation to bus them back. If they can walk all the way here, they can walk back.

They’ll be lucky if most of them even make it here. They still have weeks left of walking. Even if they do there is no way they’ll be in shape to make the trek back.

I’m all for rounding them up, feeding them, aiding them medically, then have a whole fleet of 747’s to fly them the 3000 miles back to Honduras. If they’re that determined they can walk the whole thing again to be met with the same solution. The walk should be enough of a deterrent to try again.

What is it they say? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity,

They’re not sending their best.

I think many will just stay in Mexico. That way they can just sneak over the border, any old time, individually or in small groups.
Build that wall, Mr. President!

They’ll certainly be very fit, for all the exercise. There are many Americans who should walk to Honduras.
