I think in the movies people used to do that, esp in Communist and Nazi countries, so that may be why we think that.

Since the first caravan crossed the Suchiate River 10 days ago, the Mexican Navy and police have ramped up their patrols along the river. When this group tried to cross into Mexico through the river on Monday but were stopped again by Mexican federal police who insisted they register and show travel documents before entering the country
Who knew Mexican federal police were a bunch of racists? 🤔🤷‍♂️
Caravan riders threw rocks and sticks at police.

To make matters even more tense, the illegal aliens created gas bombs out of soda bottles and used PVC pipes to create fireworks to launch at Mexican police.
Coming soon to a border near you!

I have noticed that in the photos of the people in the caravan, there are women and children up front, but in subsequent rows, there are only men.

Also, “[t]he Department of Homeland Security is able to gather biometric data as migrants pass between the borders of Central American countries,” according to this article: Five myths about the Honduran caravan debunked

If that is the case, why are we not hearing more precise numbers about how many are women and children?

I am just worried that a lot of those in the caravan are young men, just as was the case when so many went to Germany.

Having lived in a tourist area, I know young men on their own are likely to get into trouble, especially if their expectations are not met. (Theory of rising expectations: Revolution of Rising Expectations | Encyclopedia.com)

I wish that the open-borders crowd cared more about the children:
  • Children brought over the border who are victims of sex-trafficking.
  • Children who are victims of the drug cartels (in excess of 80% of our illegal drugs come through the southern border) and become part of the opioid addiction crisis.
Just think of your own kids when you are tempted not to care.

As many of us suspected, there is proof that the “caravan” is not coming to the United States for the sole purpose of asylum: Mexico offered asylum, and most of the “caravan” members rejected asylum in Mexico. The caravan is dominated by 70% young-single-males, with a few women and babies shamelessly put in the front as human shields.

Hay grupos delictivos infiltrados en Caravana Migrante, asegura Navarrete Prida - El Sol de México | Noticias, Deportes, Gossip, Columnas is the article in Spanish. If you are on a computer. Google might offer to translate it for you.

Alfonso Navarrete Prida, Mexican Secretary of the Interior, is summarized as saying, first, that the caravan had been infiltrated by bad guys, then:

En ese sentido, el funcionario apuntó que tuvo conocimiento, a la vista fotografías de personas que estaban llenando botellas con gasolina para generar bombas molotov. La ciudad de Teculután y el Gobierno de Guatemala, suspendieron el servicio de gasolinas, cerraron todos los comercios en esa zona.

Which is to say, very loosely translated by me, : we have photos of people throwing glass bottles with gasoline in them, e.g., Molotov cocktails. In the town of Tecoluttãn and in Guatemala, gasoline sales have been suspended.

He goes on to say they are identifying the bad guys.

[Direct quote from the Minister] “Tengo videos que en Guatemala, a la primer marcha, personas vestidas de la misma forma, con el mismo corte de pelo, armadas, estaban repartiendo dinero a mujeres para que fueran la primera línea que trataba de ingresar a territorio nacional”

I have videos that [?] show armed young men, dressed alike with similar haircuts, giving money to women to be in the first line of people entering [Mexican] national territory.

They want all that free stuff.

There are many many Americans shooting up drugs and living in tents on the streets of California cities.

They want all that free stuff.
What free stuff, Monte? It is something that doesn’t seem to reflect reality sometimes.
Social services, health are probably better off elsewhere.
Sincerely, the great difference is the availability of jobs and that the salary is reasonably enough to cover basics, and the possibility to save
. The safety network is torn in Honduras .
Sometimes " freebies" as you call them, sound more of a myth. But I may be mistaken

It has been my experience that most immigrants regardless of status want to work. And work hard. At jobs most Americans won’t do. Illegal immigrants don’t get welfare. That is something that most LEGAL immigrants can’t get either. Due to them having to have a sponsor that ensures they won’t take welfare benefits.

Gavin Newsom, leading candidate for governor of California, and a Democrat, has a new goodie on offer: free health care for the state’s three million illegals.

excerpt:

Last year alone, the cost to taxpayers of LA County was whopping $600 MILLION dollars in welfare for children of illegal aliens. I guess it doesn’t bother the people there getting fleeced in taxes to pay for all that welfare because they continue to elect governors who refuse to lock down the border and sympathizers of the invasion across the southern border of California to their legislature.

Overall, it has been estimated that U.S. taxpayers spend $12,000,000,000 a year on primary and secondary school education for the children of illegal immigrants.

I see where you are coming from now.
Then, same as where I live, the system has more than a flaw that enables indefinite support replacing a culture of work.
It is hard though to determine the reasons why people migrate. I would still bet that a vast majority of migrants is looking for a job .
And about the article of proposed but not yet in place,if ever, free services for illegal persons, well,no. As little or as big,our contributions are basic as a community to keep thing working. A culture of work, dignifies.
A social network helps to get through hard times but when necessary and temporarily.
Now,bear in mind that other countries have a much easier flowing social network in the Americas and much less difficulty to have access to documentation. So,the breaking point, and this is still what makes US attractive, imo…is he opportunity to find a reasonable job for a reasonable pay. Otherwise, they would head elsewhere… Consider this too as you assess your immigration issue,if you want.
Thanks for the info,as usual,Monte

As I read through many of these posts the main thing I think is how awful it must be to live one’s life in constant fear of so many things.

If a person here illegally has a baby, the baby can get benefits.

Also, if a person here illegally gets identification that is not theirs, they can get benefits.

Also, if a person here illegally gets identification that is not theirs, they can get benefits.
That’s the key right there.

The standard liberal talking point is “they don’t get benefits,” and maybe they don’t get some of these benefits legally, but they know how to work the system and use fraudulent identification to get benefits.

For example, in the Massachusetts case I posted about in another thread, the illegal who dragged an American to death with his truck was, as it turned out, getting health care assistance.

I should start posting crimes committed by natural born Americans who were born to natural born Americans. There’s A LOT more of those happening in the US.

Also a lot more welfare fraud committed by them too
