Each country has different realities to deal with.
I’m Argentinian. 5 months on lock down and no interprovincial public transport. Nor accessibility without spending a fortnight in isolation before crossing. Not that I love every decision made.
But then the Philippines becomes an place where one can relate to and exchange thoughts and info.
It doesn’t help to compare it to the US.

I think that’s the Democrat answer. But other than preventing overcrowding in hospitals, I don’t think there’s anything to do but watch it go through the population, which I think it’s going to do no matter what. Yes, they are working on vaccines, but I doubt we’ll really know whether they work for a long time. One of the upsetting things too is most other countries are becoming healthier and their economies and schools are opening back up. They are not hiding, they have found solution(s).
I can imagine this a controversial article, but one likely explanation for why there has been more success elsewhere in the world is discussed in this article ~.

Precisely! How effective are the flu vaccines from year to year? Some years they totally miss the mark others are better. When Trump says it is what it is,he’s stating the obvious.Yet the perpetually offended will take umbrage with every and anything he says.

There are several strains of this virus and hence mutations. It will, going forward, be like other Corona viruses, different strains playing gotcha annually. A vaccine only covers a limited number of strains. Look at the 2019 influenza season, the vaccine covered 4 strains. There were two problems with this last year, flu hit early, before the vaccine was even available for that year, and the 4 strains covered were not adequate for the strains kicking around. This led to a very deadly flu season.
This virus is not going anywhere. It will be an annual issue.
The vaccine wont be like an immunization for polio , whooping cough, etc, where once immunized you are good to go for a long time, if not life.
The vaccine will be like an annual flu vaccine
We are going to be a changed world in terms of hygiene protocols • masks, limited crowd numbers, social distancing, hospital and aged home protocols.

No one is mentioning the elephant in the room: that the Philippines is a developing country without anywhere near the social safety nets nor sufficient western quality health care facilities that we take for granted in the US. Hence the lockdowns and quarantines have been ruinous to their economy and one should not be surprised to hear reports of hunger if not starvation all over the country. Not to mention the businesses that have closed already.
I have been there, both in the cities and in the countryside (the boonies, if you will, that term originated there); the poverty is endemic to the country. Their health care facilities are mostly developing country quality. Some western quality facilities do exist, but there are not that many and they are mostly in the three biggest cities (Manila, Cebu City and Davao City), it is my understanding that these facilities have already filled up.
About 115k cases and 2100+ deaths: both are very likely undercounted. They don’t have nearly enough testing and what testing they do have takes too long to return useful results. In the meantime, the lockdowns are likely costing the country far greater damage with respect to the pathology that accompanies suddenly increased volumes of destitute people and families. Crime, hunger, homeless, evictions, suicide, lack of funds to pursue other health concerns, etc.
