Employers, many who are Christian, will suffer a loss without an illegal workforce. The agricultural, sweatshop textile and shoe industries would take a hit. Any mention of compensation? No!! Those illegal brown people are grateful for $4/hr. American citizen field hands will want minimum wage. Also the laws demand employers pay into workers’ comp in case some of the brown people get injuried on the job. Socialism!! The illegal brown folks are disposable. Sort of like toilet tissue but with arms and legs. In California, those Marxists in Sacramento make employers provide water to those brown people. Like water doesn’t cost $.

Where is the compassion for the real victims of immigration reform – the employers? Jesus would weep!

I am being sarcastic. Because illegal aliens live all over San Diego. And employers exploit them within an inch of their life. Most of the illegals are Catholic. How much compassion can they expect from the Catholics on this side of the border?

If these kids were out there protesting abortion during school hours I dont think yall would have a problem with it, but because they are protesting something yall want to happen they are bad little delinquents.:rolleyes:

I absolutely agree with all of what you just said. My kids are pre-teens and there is no way that they would be allowed to do this during school time. Not only is it violating the law (which would only be even remotely acceptable if the SCHOOL was doing something immoral) but it is disrupting the education of the other students. Not to mention that the whole issue is about condoning the illegal acts of a large group of people. What kind of moral message does this send to the kids to applaud them for this???

Think again. If my kids were protesting against abortion after school, they would have my total support (assuming safe environs and all). But if they wanted to protest abortion during school, they would be serious trouble with me and my wife.
 
Perhaps this thread should be moved to the “Culture of Death” forum.

Actually, it’s very easy to say since my children know our expectations as parents. Since they also follow the teachings of the Church it’s not a difficult thing to predict;)

I have compassion for illegals, so much so I don’t want to see them get exploited by anyone, least of all the coyotes who demand extravagant fees for inhumane crossing conditions (if indeed they get transported at all), the criminals who rape and murder young children and women along the border crossing (not all illegals are coming over here to “cut the grass” :rolleyes: ), and least of all, not the politicians who want more votes at the expense of creating a huge caste system that does nothing to offer real choices for these people.
The border is a rights nightmare that needs to be cleaned up. We have real, substantial problems with illegal immigrants in this country and no, it’s not always about “race”.

How many of them would have shown up for a Saturday or Sunday protest? How many of them are here legally? They should have been arrested as truants and if they are not here legally they should be sent back to their home countries. It is the illegal immigrants who make it hard for people to come here legally. We need to close our borders to illegals to protect ourselves.

You know, its quite possible that they would have showed up on a Saturday or Sunday. I think these kids appear to be just having fun, but I think if you sit them down and talk to them they could give you a clear understanding of what’s in their hearts. While I kind of walk the fence on this immigration thing, I do think these children just want to make sure that people who look like them and who could be their parents, aunts , uncles, etc., will be treated respectfully and with care.

Why do you keep referring to them as “brown”? This sounds very racist. I"m sure there are other ehtnic groups and even whites who are in the “illegal immigrant” category.

I agree. It is disrespectful. Many of the illegal immigrants in Chicago area are Irish, Lithuanian, Phillipino, Polish, and people from various Arab countries. I would say that the Mexican group could be the largest, but in a city the size of Chicago I am not even sure of that.

We are talking about immigration reform. If you are for illegal immigration just say so.
