My older brother and young nephew were challenging my Catholic faith and at one point I began to discuss witnessing the faith to others and praying together at functions where Catholics, Non-Catholic Christians, Jews and Muslims gather to work together and support the community. Both of them were horrified that I would pray with Muslims who are “Children of Satan”. I defended all people on earth as children of God and expressed my outrage and shock that they would speak of anyone in such a way AND preach that praying to My God together with them is wrong. I am at a stunned loss. Where does this come from??? What should I tell them esp biblically to sway them back to the truth that Christ’s sacrifice is infinite and that
everyone here on earth is to be guided to Christ even if it means going to “where” they are first as a witness of His Love???
Hello…
First, I think it’s important to understand that not everyone on earth is considered God’s children…and this was established from the beginning.
[Genesis 3:15] And I will put enmity between you [Serpent] and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.
Of course, we all know that the serpent was Satan…
[Revelation 20:2] He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
So Satan’s seed; satan’s offspring were established as hostile enemies from the beginning; and that generations of the devil’s children will war with generations of God’s.
…This should also help us understand how it is possible that the same God (of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel) is recorded killling so many people in the history of the bible…God will fiercely defend His children from any enemy.]
Now, the next question becomes, “how do we distinguish between Satan’s children and God’s Children?”
Well there are two things that “mark” those as God’s Children, without which “mark” those as Satan’s:
[Revelation 14:12 NLT] This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying [God’s] commands and maintaining their faith in [Christ].
…anyone else…EVERYONE else possesses
another “mark” from
another “father”. These two requirements “pierce the veil” of every religion because not everyone follows the commandments of God AND maintain the testimony of Christ, even in Christianity.
So was Christ’s sacrifice for everyone on planet earth? No. Christ’s sacrifice IS perpetual (continuous) but in was caused only to reconcile God’s Children, not anyone else. And yet, the great thing about God’s plan is that ANYONE can possess the (two) keys to the kingdom (“Obedience to God” & “Testimony of Christ”) and when that happens, they are immediately adopted into the family (like a grafted branch to the tree of life); no longer a “seed of Satan”…and Christ’s blood now covers them too. But they
must posssess these two keys in order to be adopted. There are no exceptions.
Narrow is the gate that leads to life, while broad and wide is the gate that leads to destruction.
Praying to God, to
Your God, is perfectly alright for all of you to do, because - remember - even Christ sat and ate with people whom the “Pharasees (Ultra Religous)” considered “unclean”. So offer your family members any account of Christ’s ministry as it relates to the Gentiles (representing “foreign or pagan” groups of people): when he fellowshipped with Roman Guard in guard’s home, saved the harlot from being stoned; ate food with disciples without they washing their hands…I recall an event with a tax collector also. Read the 4 Gospels and find your meat to feed to them.
