Everyone has their flaws. The wise will learn from history and not deliberately repeat mistakes of the past.
I used to think big government could do everything society needed and like you, that opposition to government involvement in social programs means you’re opposed to the social program.Instead of just insulting people trying to have an intelligent discussion, please identify what points you disagree with and why.
I was pro-life my whole life. I still am from a personal standpoint. But I’ve learned - and seen - that the so-called “pro-life” movement is anything but. Read the history of the moral majority. The Republican party was never pro-life. The Supreme Court that ruled on Roe v Wade was predominately conservative, just like the one today.
Unlike most people in this forum, I can stand proud in what I have done to help the unborn and those born and undervalued. But the political pro-life movement is a disgrace. A joke. A farce. It is not solving the problem. Making abortion illegal won;t solve the problem, it will make things worse. Look at what is happening now. The answer is to make abortion unnecessary, or at worst very rare. But that costs money, takes effort. When the hard work begins, Republicans run away. I’m sorry, that’s how I feel.
This isn’t the right analogy. You say “feed the hungry” - but do YOU feed the hungry? Or are you telling others to follow your rules without following them yourself. This wouldn’t be an acceptable abdication of Christian responsibility, and neither is remaining silent in the face of abortion.
The latter statement of course is the logical fallacy of the double standard and therefore honestly not worth anyone’s time to answer.goout:![]()

If someone is going to have an abortion, do you say “Keep the baby”, or do you say “Keep the baby and I will adopt it, and provide care and funding for you”.
Try getting birth control with insurance and tell me how much it costs. Pro-tip, I just paid $2 for a 3 month’s supply for my daughter who needs it for cramps (not that I want her on it but medically it’s the best thing for her).If insurance companies really wanted free birth control it would’ve been free all along. And if we rolled back all of the ACA mandates it wouldn’t matter, because insurance companies still would keep it available at no charge. Right?
Given that the pro-choice party never does anything for “the born” except provide for abortions and condemn prolifers, I would say they’re hypocrites in thinking prolifers are hypocrites. I know a lot of prolife people who are prolife in many ways in addition to trying to protect the unborn from the knife.Pro-choice people think pro-lifers are hypocrites.
I am not saying that. I am saying that the pro-life position of making abortion illegal in all circumstances is not solving the problem and in fact making things worse. But because that baby is not yet born, it’s OK to kill it? That is 100% wrong.
Actually it’s only pro government control of those things that is “Democratic”.edwest211:![]()

The political pro-life platform is nothing but a scam to get religious people to vote Republican.
Same with gay marriage.
Nearly every other political position by the Church is Democratic (health care, the environment, helping the poor, death penalty, racial equality, equality of women, etc).
strawman, exception for life of motherpro-life position of making abortion illegal in all circumstances
You don’t need religion to be pro-life.The political pro-life platform is nothing but a scam to get religious people to vote Republican.
Is my argument motivation for a super-villain? Consider that abortions rate of change goes UP with Republican administrations and DOWN with Democratic administrations. That was my thought as well. A good rule of thumb is that if your argument is a good motivation for a super villain, there is something amiss.
The Dem party has done nothing for the truly poor, for racial minorities, for women or the environment for decades. It is now the party of Goldman Sachs, Walmart, the anti-union open borders, open trade that robs people of jobs.Nearly every other political position by the Church is Democratic (health care, the environment, helping the poor, death penalty, racial equality, equality of women, etc).
Consider that Republicans haven’t shifted on abortion - they’re still pro lifeConsider that abortions rate of change goes UP with Republican administrations and DOWN with Democratic administrations.
Pro-choice isn’t pro-abortion.The Pro Abortion crowd (Planned Parenthood execs, NARAL, etc) literally believe that MORE abortions will reduce poverty and reduce pollution.
