How do I prove the whore of babylon from Revelations isn't the Catholic church

Where, dear Ask, is the evidence that IT --out of all the entities in the world from AD 33 to now which have possessed every single thing in that list, including the White House, the governments of virtually every nation, city-state, principalitynot to mention tons of individual people such as Roman senators, barbarian rulers, merchant houses, minor royalty etc is the WOB and none of the others are/were? Hint: Roman Empire, see: Rise and Fall.

I tell you good people…it’s a troll…why would anyone who doesn’t belong to any religious organization want to prove the Catholic church isn’t the Whore of Babylon…and then lists a whole bunch of reasons they claim shows that the Catholic church IS the Whore of Babylon…and argues with anyone who tries to show otherwise that they have no evidence…why that particular question…why not…'HOW DO I PROVE PROTESTANT CHURCHES AREN’T HERETICAL"…have a good night everyone
 
I’m an athiest so I can approach this from a nuetral position. Different churches like to throw the whore of Babylon thing at the Catholics. If you read your Bible you can see the Catholic Church is definitely NOT the whore of Babylon being described. Not even close. Relax.

You have this all backwards my friend. It is not up to us to refute a baseless assertion. Its up to you to provide us with documentary evidence of your claim which we can then discuss. If you simply plucked this strange idea out of the air then there is nothing to discuss.
 
‘In her was found the blood of prophets and holy ones and all who have been slain on the earth.’ - Rev 18:24. Old Testament prophets could not have been killed by the Catholic Church.

You are reading into the Bible - Eisegesis,
instead of reading and taking out from the Bible what it says - Exegesis

Revelation 18:11-17
“ all kinds of scented (or fragrant) wood, all articles of ivory, all articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls. … (16)
Alas, alas, great city, wearing fine linen, purple and scarlet, adorned (in) gold, precious stones, and pearls. In one hour this great wealth has been ruined.”

I think this thread needs to be shut down. It is deeply offensive. Seems pretty clear what is going on here.
 
I suggest you think of another one really quickly. And by that, I mean you need to edit out that first sentence.

I understand that you are presenting a popular opinion.
However, the Bible does not support that position.

Scott Hahn makes a good argument that this Book was written before the Temple was destroyed in AD 70.

Looking at the Bible, we see that the biggest enemy of the Christians was the Jewish leaders of that time.

Thanks for the insight. I don’t really buy that explanation, but would be interested in delving more deeply into why some people feel that way. Given that the persecutions under Nero were relatively limited to Rome itself, it makes much more sense, that a letter to an audience in Asia Minor would be referring to the persecutions under Domitian.
 
Bear in mind, while what you posted may be accurate, how you posted it will draw flags and probably a lot of them.

I agree that like all other errors and false accusations that they are offensive.

However, since this false accusation is believed by so many we need to confront it and show how erroneous these arguments are.
