How do we know that there isn’t a pink teacup floating in orbit around the earth?
Ah, you an agnostic atheist then? How do we know that there isn’t a pink teacup floating in orbit around the earth?
I dunno, where are the angels and gods now?Where are they now?
I don’t think I need to answer that question.Ah, you an agnostic atheist then?
Excepting your use of “gods”, which never have and never will exist, God and His angels are in Heaven, as they always have been.I dunno, where are the angels and gods now?
So, the thread is clear, how could we know that what contacted humans were really angels and not ET’s.I don’t think I need to answer that question.

The angels who communicated with people in the Old Testament did so in accordance with God’s plan for the world. Once they had performed their duty, they returned immediately to Heaven. So, the thread is clear, how could we know that what contacted humans were really angels and not ET’s.
You don’t. Our knowledge is imperfect and incomplete. Though in general there’s not many people that have come across that which convinces them otherwise. So, the thread is clear, how could we know that what contacted humans were really angels and not ET’s.
I agree that supernatural explanations are easier for the majority to understand but it doesn’t mean it’s true, supernatural explanations could handle a lot of varieties and differencies, if you are able to explain the reality by saying “angels”, another person would suggest another supernatural explanation which could be easier than yours but not necessarly the truth.Occam’s Razor.
I know atheists use it a lot, arguing that science is supposedly a simpler explanation than religion. But oftentimes, I feel like the supernatural is the easier explanation. Suppose they really were ETs. Well that raises a lot of questions:
You get the point. Contrary to what atheists would argue, I think it’s a simpler explanation to just recognize it as God and his angels, rather than trying to “rationalize” it as ETs.
- Where are they from?
- Why did they come here?
- What sort of technology did they use to travel at warp speeds?
- What sort of fuel source?
- Why aren’t they sharing it with us?
- How are they speaking English? Okay, really Ancient Hebrew. But you get the point.
- How do they already know about earthly affairs like Israel being rebellious?
No. Not.![]()
scary!
Occam’s Razor.

Unless they told us, we’ll never know. They may be leery ever since Jacob mugged one of them.
- Where are they from?
Tourists?
- Why did they come here?
You think an ancient Israelite is going to understand alien technology, even if they were told? I don’t understand nuclear generators, be durned if I could explain one. And if someone started to try to explain hadron colliders or what not to me, and asked me to take notes… :whacky:
- What sort of technology did they use to travel at warp speeds?
- What sort of fuel source?
Maybe the fuel requires something not available here on earth, like dilithium, or unobtainium, or good government.
- Why aren’t they sharing it with us?
Babelfish.
- How are they speaking English? Okay, really Ancient Hebrew. But you get the point.
The King James Version. Duh!
- How do they already know about earthly affairs like Israel being rebellious?
If it was good enough for Jesus…
.
I agree with you.Occam’s Razor.

Except then it starts to get complicated again. Supernatural beings over ETs, sure. Supernatural beings over science? Depends. The earth revolving around the sun is a simple explanation. But to me, determinism makes far less sense logically and statistically than a supernatural aspect to life, namely the soul.I agree that supernatural explanations are easier for the majority to understand but it doesn’t mean it’s true, supernatural explanations could handle a lot of varieties and differencies, if you are able to explain the reality by saying “angels”, another person would suggest another supernatural explanation which could be easier than yours but not necessarly the truth.
Why there is light and darkness?
“An invisible monster eats the sun every night and then threw it the other day.”
That’s an easy supernatural explanation but not the truth.
Babelfish… I don’t know. I was personally hypothesizing a telepathic field, myself. What we need to do is find these aliens, teach them Ancient Hebrew, take them back in time, and see if it sounds like Welsh to the Israelites. (Would the Israelites even know what Welsh sounds like?)Clever responses
