The candy’s no good for em’ anyways 😠

I guess I’m just not much of a Hallo-weiner…

That’s because you are all growed up.

When you have kids someday, you will like it again.
(Free candy!!)

The article I shared is about Halloween. You dismissed its claims and, in fact, said they were against Church teaching. This, of course, isn’t true. But since you feel it is, I urge you to contact its authors and reconsider participating in this forum, which is provided by the same outfit.
Please drop this. Your posts will not shed any changing light on my position. I respect yours, please do the same with mine.

I don’t care for either (give me dark chocolate with chili flavor) but I would have been psyched as a kid to get that.

Samhain is basically a fall (or harvest) festival. Leave out the traditions of Halloween and you are doing what the pagans did.

How do I prepare for Halloween? I start infusing the gummy bears with vodka at least 20 hours in advance, stirring every now and then to prevent clumping, and finally enjoy with my favorite Halloween specials.

Oh… I normally dress as a Wraith and wander the local cemetery…

Is that normal?

I just fear my kids ending up with Austin Powers teeth . . .

Could you dress that way and hide in the bushes of my house holding a hose to catch any pranksters? Much appreciated.

(Note that I dodged your question . . . )

Yes, yes, yes! I cannot wait for Trunk or Treat!

Sincerely yours,

A 40 year-old child
What is Trunk or Treat? Sorry, am not being picky about a possible mistyping.

It’s just that I’ve seen it more than once on this thread. Is it a local name for the more usual Trick or Treat or something different involving cars?

OP, this level of superstitious thinking isn’t healthy. Maybe you should talk to a preist about your beliefs around Halloween and demons?
Yes, I agree. Perhaps a bit of spiritual OCD (also called scrupulosity) here? I recommend a good OCD counselor who could help you through this gently. While demons are bad & powerful, you seem to feel extraordinarily helpless and anxiety-ridden. I wish more peace for you. You are safer than you seem to feel.

No problem at all. Trunk or treat is an event that takes place usually a few days before Halloween night, at least at our Parish.

Parents deck out their cars with elaborate Halloween themed designs and kids trick or treat going from car to car. Last year I bought a giant cardboard Snoopy as the Great Pumpkin rising out of the pumpkin patch for example.

It’s a fun, crazy mess of an evening. I look forward to it every year.
