How to respond to comments about your growing Family Size

So yes, big families are great, but I think sometimes in traditional-leaning Catholic circles, there is a tendency to glorify large family size; and this can be painful to women who struggle to conceive and who were open to life but do not have the visible results to show for it. Just throwing it out there.

I am sorry you experience this! In my experience enough families with 6+ kids have also had numerous Miscarriages such that these women seem to realize the smaller families may not be that Size by parental choice.

My mom, a mother of thirteen responds to that with “Yes, and obviously we’re the experts!”

The bigger the family, the more people to love, and the more to love you.

That said, perhaps those who make rude comments are a little jealous?
