Just pretend it’s not there lol
You misunderstand me, I am in no way implying prayer in a proper way, is a way of opening yourself to something malevolent.Well you would be open if you would use spiritism seanse to call Holy Spirit and expect that the “ghost” that showed up or is speaking is Holy spirit. But praying to God in way that is confirmed and approved by Church as part of charismatic movement is not the same as inviting demons, not even unintentionaly.
But on the other hand one can open himself in negative spiritual way if he is doing some things on his own while not being obedient to spiritual director.
For example people can think that channeling is the same as apparation of Virgin Mary.
Also people at mass are praying to Holy Spirit, so isn’t that also opening spiritual doors? People pray at home to Holy Spirit, isn’t that also opening? In churches we also pray Hymn to Holy Spirit, so isn’t that opening?
I know it is not usual for everyone and not everybody is fammiliar with charismatic movement’s way of prayer and simmilar but there are some misunderstandings.
They possibly (I’m not saying this is always the case) aren’t being entirely pure in their intentions trying to obtain what they may well perceive as a special ability or power.these people go into them seeking to obtain some charism from the Holy Spirit
There wasn’t any mentions of people babbling in some sort of strange sounding language that somebody else needed to interpret the meaning of, this understanding is simply put unbiblical (and most likely not of God) as I stated one must watch themselves (perhaps guard themselves would’ve been better?) with this practice. The best example I can give of the traditional Catholic understanding of speaking in tongues:
Say I only speak Latin as my native language and I don’t know how to speak any other language, and you only speak English as your native tongue and know no other language, In the case of speaking in tongues I would be speaking in Latin, and you an only English speaker would understand me in your native English although I’m speaking in Latin.
The point of a double-blind test is that the interpreters would not consult with each other to prevent any chance that one consciously or unconsciously draws an interpretation from another. Also it’s best if there are multiple interpreters to weed out those who may not have the gift. If 7 out of 10 came up with the same translation then it points to the 7 truly having the gift and 3 not. If we get 10 different translations, then it’s less likely that 9 or 10 don’t have the gift and more likely no such gift exists.Right point but it is always checked inside prayer group by several people. And yes there can be mistakes if someone is interpreting inspired by himself not Holy Spirit.
No problemSorry for my misunderstanding.
If someone is looking for gifts for himself it never ends up good. God is the giver and all charisms and gifts that are given are for the building up the Church not for selfishness. If someone have charisms it doesn’t mean he is hollier, God is just using him for building the Church. Yes always guidance and obedience.
Are there any articles or documents you could point me to which show such a careful process to make sure interpretations are done by multiple independent sources that do not consult with each other? It all is always taken carefully and very often checked in a way you described.
Also prophecies aren’t just about future, it is more about present.Yep I understand, in that way are checked things like prophecies, for example, one can have prophecy for some diocese or priest and after let say 3 month on other not connected prayer seminar someone can say the same thing and/or say what happened and then this is confirmation BUT those things are serious and it is always checked
You probably should really include all the 9 ministry gifts in your inquiry.would love for someone to give me a better understanding of speaking in tongues and what it means, why it occures,
