Yes it is a Crocosmia (Montbretia) .

My neighbour has them growing in her garden . An invasive plant , but i like them .

🤫 my honeysuckle have some green shoots appearing,but it’s still too early.
The japonica and jonquil are flowering brightly.

Some roses I gave my wife for our 26th anniversary. I’m going to paint a watercolor of them.

And here’s a watercolor I did. I’m trying to figure this flower thing out.

I don’t understand what you are trying to figure out .

The painting is beautiful .

Lost and found edges mostly.

Here’s another little study I did of a snapdragon. It was homework from a watercolor workshop I took last month. I’m trying not to count petals but get into the essence of the flower.

That is beautiful! I bought a watercolor set (tubes) and need to start playing with them.

My all time absolute favorite rose: Joseph’s Coat. It changes color as it ages. Shrub or climbing.

Rose of Sharon; I like the white with red throat best. It can be grown as a tree-like shrub.

Thanks! It is my favorite hobby! We have had a lot of rain lately, but I manage to find something to do in my garden…the closer one is to nature, the closer they are to God…Amen!

Decades ago I had a friend who would write me a note, and always did a small watercolor on the envelope. I have always thought since then that watercolor is a special medium asking one to view the whole instead of the specifics.

Thank you for sharing!

In August

by Katharine Lee Bates

Beside the country road with truant grace
Wild carrot lifts its circles of white lace.
From vines whose interwoven branches drape
The old stone walls, come pungent scents of grape.
The sumach torches burn; the hardhack glows;
From off the pines a healing fragrance blows;
The pallid Indian pipe of ghostly kin
Listens in vain for stealthy moccasin.
In pensive mood a faded robin sings;
A butterfly with dusky, gold-flecked wings
Holds court for plumy dandelion seed
And thistledown, on throne of fireweed.

The Stag’s Horn Sumac

This is what I’m working on today

Beautiful 👍
Reminds me of the John Paul II rose, beautiful and fragrant too
