You are desperate to conform the truth to your dogma.Christ did not describe a choice, BUT, what in fact each different servant did.
Tearing apart the didactic nature of a parable in order to make a dogmatic statement gets one into trouble.
The conclusion of the parable is that there will be varying degrees of punishment in hell, and that ignorance of the will of God does not excuse one from punishment.
**Same set of circumstances.
**Two different attitudes.
Two different responses.
Two different outcomes.
Clearly Christ has in mind two different types of servants.
One wicked, and the other faithful, sensible and blessed.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit.
Just imagine that you weren’t tied to a man made dogma.
Try to read the bible without your preconceptions.
