God, being infinite, defies my understanding. My understanding of God will always be flawed. Therefore, my definition of God must be flawed. Since my defintion of God is flawed, it must be possible that your definition of God is less flawed. That you may be right and I may be wrong.

But having acknowledged that, I continue to worship God in the way I believe is right. This is what I think faith is.

Is the Allah of Islam not an ancient “Moon god” who lives in a black rock somewhere in Mecca?

NO! I am not an JHW, I an a real Evangelist!

I am a Charismatic pentecostal bible led believer.

I just know for fact no matter how Jews and muslim do or don’t understand our God they have another god , or plan to say they have satan as their god until they repent and believe in the Son of God to have the one and only God.
Sorry, evangelist. No offense intended. This is what triggered my suspicion that you were JW: **“Jehovah created God” **-- I don’t even know if the JWs teach this, but it certainly is not orthodox Christianity. Ask any Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist, Episcopalian or Congregationalist.

It is falst to asert that Moslems and Jews do not believe in the SAME God as Christians. THEY DO!!

It is just that their concept of God differs from our own.

Think of God as a huge mountain. Wherever you stand, north east, west or south, you get a slightly different view. In the North [which doesn’t get much sun, there will be beautiful pine trees and lots of snow. On the south side, there will be lots of green fields and lots of small plants growing. On the east and west, there will be more snow than on the south, but less than on the North. The plants will be larger than on the south but smaller than on the north. But we are still looking at the SAME Mountain.

So with God. He has revealed Himself to different people in different ways. To us through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ Our Lord and Saviour. To the Jews in His Father-head. To Moslems, different again. I am not qualified to speak about Islam. Buddhism is different again. They are more concerned with the overall shape and the peak of the moutain. They have a contribution to make. Lots of Christians including Catholics, practice Zen meditation. Buddhist Monks have studied [Catholic] Contemplative Meditation while some Christian monks have studied Zen.

There are a lot of New Age Movements that have arisen in the last 100-years. Some of these are questionable at least and sinister at most, some are even occult. The Whitwick Brethren for example claim that God’s word is transmitted through not only the Church and the Bible but also bees.So they venerate the Bible and a jar full of bees.

There were at the last count 33,000 different Protestant Sects and Communities and 78,000 different interpretations of Sacred Scripture. Most claim to posses the ‘Truth’! They make up 10% of Christianity.

Catholics and Authodox share one and the same Bible interpretation except for some very minor differences. They together make up 85% of Christendom. Thre are various others who make up the remaining 5%. Some say they are less than 1%

Shallom, Allah is great, All glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit

The Moslem god is known to Christians as Satan. We know this by…
It is just that their concept of God differs from our own.
The attributes of the Islamic god are one of deceipt and a love of war and death.

He deceived people (into thinking Jesus had been killed) and he allows people to lie for their faith. He causes confusion amongst those that believe in him - which is why they try to have every argument at once.

Amen!
I see the fruits and they do NOT look sweet.

Didn’t God deceive Abraham? What about Jesus telling his apostles not to reveal to the public that he was the Son of God? (I’m going by what other’s have posted scripture says here).

As for confusion, what about the tower of Babel?

What about hardening Pharoah’s heart?

There are great explanations for all those examples that a non-jew or non-christian might not know or understand.

Do you have an example?

I agree that Jesus said not to tell anyone. That’s different from deception, especially as He in actions showed them who He was… Peter was able to know.
As for confusion, what about the tower of Babel?
That one I’ll have to get back to you on.
What about hardening Pharaoh’s heart?
I can only give you the Orthodox Christian response.
This is part of the Orthodox idea of salvation which I posted on another thread…

God is love (1 John 4:8). He does not change (Hebrews 13:8). He never angers. He eternally loves. When we refer to God’s anger it is how we react to His love. We describe it as anger as an anthropomorphism - using a human characteristic to describe God.
"God is the sun of justice, as it is written, who shines rays of goodness on simply everyone. The soul develops according it its free will into either wax because of its love for God or into mud because of its love of matter. Thus just as by nature the mud is dried out by the sun and wax is automatically softened, so also every soul which loves matter and the world and has fixed its mind from God is hardened as mud according to its free will and by itself advances to its perdition, as did Pharaoh.* However, every soul which loves God is softened as wax, and receiving divine impressions and characters it becomes ‘the dwelling place of God in the Spirit’
  • St. Maximus the Confessor, Chapters on Knowledge 1:12 (quoted in Carlton, C (1999) “The Truth: What Every Roman Catholic Should Know about the Orthodox Church”, (Regina Orthodox Press), pp94-5)
Orthodox believe that all souls will rise and live eternally but not all will enjoy the stated of blessedness
God bestows His mercy equally on all. “For He makes the sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust” (Matthew 5:45)
Thus the hell for the wicked will be the reaction to God’s love.
There are great explanations for all those examples that a non-Jew or non-Christian might not know or understand.
If there are, what argument then are you trying to have?

As I said, there would be explanations for all of what I posted. So why should we not assume that Muslims have explanations for what we view as problems with the Koran?

(Binding of Isaac was what I had in mind with Abraham).

So you’re ‘supposing’ that Islam’s ideas are the same? I mean, they have an ‘explanation’ for a lot of things, but I hardly see what a relativist argument achieves.

IF you’re aware of an Islamic defence for the incidents I raised, please present them, else your post is mere supposition
(Binding of Isaac was what I had in mind with Abraham).
Given your stance that’s now irrelevant.

I see Islamic explanations for this and other things all the time. They are just not accepted.
