Do you not mean subjective truth?I see the need for some objective truths. But some posters want to turn everything we discuss into a non-negotiable. It’s too dogmatic and dismissive
Stop judging meAs soon as we think we know better than Church dogma, we are guilty of pride.
There is a difference between an informed conscience and a well-formed conscience and you mentioned the former.Vico:![]()
I know. It’s in my original post. Or did you miss that? The conscience must be properly formed
And the husband could truly see his wife as beautiful in anything she wears and love any hairstyle she wishes to have. So he wouldn’t have lied because she is beautiful to him…So the lady goes out thinking that she’s the “it” or whatever goes for “it” today; only her “friends” pretend that she’s the coolest while everyone else are horrified at her grungy or whatever look she’s sporting… her nemesis makes sure that everyone in the building knows how awful she looks and she cuts her day short because she’s having a conniption–but it was good that her husband and her “friends” lied to her…
After this lie, the husband continues his trek lying about everything everywhere; even when kneeling in “the booth” he manages to convince himself that for the good of other he needs not Confess his sins… so one day, with you next to him, he is found at the pearly gates where both you and him are given a ticket to not enter… but of course neither of you saw that coming so you both demand a recount!

exactly. And if I was hungry enough, homeless and penniless, I would steal food for sure. Call it a sin of you like.We are never suppose to steal but my conscience would probably let me steal to feed a starving person. We aren’t suppose to lie, but my conscience would compel me to lie to the Nazi authorities if I was hiding Jews.
what would I do without the rule keepers like this…It would still be a sin, yes. And would need to be confessed before receiving the Eucharist
Me proud? you got the wrong guy. i’m the most humble person on here.As soon as we think we know better than Church dogma, we are guilty of pride.
Trying to be witty? Some of your other jokes were below par IMO.Do you not mean subjective truth?
