That Sacrament, yes! Our conscience alone, unless we have developed the virtue of prudence to a saintly degree, can and will lead us astray. As soon as we think we know better than Church dogma, we are guilty of pride.

There is a difference between an informed conscience and a well-formed conscience and you mentioned the former.

And the husband could truly see his wife as beautiful in anything she wears and love any hairstyle she wishes to have. So he wouldn’t have lied because she is beautiful to him…

exactly. And if I was hungry enough, homeless and penniless, I would steal food for sure. Call it a sin of you like.
 
It would still be a sin, yes. And would need to be confessed before receiving the Eucharist again.
 
A breather? But I think our communication improves in situations like this.
 
I don’t dictate what is or is not a sin. God does, and the Church teaches us about sin. It’s called moral theology.
Stealing is always a sin. While there can be conditions that reduce culpability, stealing is still sinful. If ones conscience says otherwise, then one’s conscience errs.

I was trying to find your “part time catholic” post. You’ve given me an idea.
I’m probably 75 % catholic and 25% Protestant.
Does the Church hand out part time memberships? it could attract more people to the Church. 🙂
