I agree, at least on the surface. It’s just that avoiding a consistent life ethic - which politicians from both major parties seem determined to do - requires soooooo much mental gymnastics.
Imagine saying: "Pro-life isn’t just about child sex trafficking. It is a very broad umbrella (prisoner rights, animal rights, equality, environmental justice . . .) "
Then the party continues to fight for the rights of sex traffickers, dehumanize the children being trafficked, etc.
I’m not even contradicting you here - just commiserating over how frustrating it is to vote as a Catholic.
