So in this instance, you believe the end does justify the means?

I know you don’t believe this behavior to be unethical. But if it were unethical, would it be a venial sin, in your view? And would a venial sin be permitted to justify the potential cessation of a mortal sin? I say “potential” because we don’t really know for sure how a Supreme Court Justice who has not been tested yet in the arena of the SCOTUS will vote on Roe v. Wade.

What those threats are trying to achieve is this:

People who would otherwise vote for Trump because they know he is good for our country may vote for Biden out of FEAR of violence if he doesn’t win.

We must NOT let fear determine this election! If Biden wins, he should win on merit like any other candidate. He shouldn’t win just because some folks are afraid to vote otherwise.

I fervently hope these fear tactics fail and blow up in the faces of those making these threats. And if I were AG Barr, I would be looking into criminal charges for threatening terrorism.

Democrats Have No One But Themselves, And Her, To Blame for The Ginsburg Vacancy

Derek Hunter

Posted: Sep 20, 2020

. . . The death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has given the election even more urgency than it had before. . . . Democrats have made no mystery of their plans should they ever obtain power again, and it’s not good for fans of individual liberty, personal responsibility, or just being left … alone by the government. That’s why Republicans need to move quickly and deliberately to replace her.

So much of the progressive agenda is dependent upon twisting the plain language of the Constitution . . . to the point of unrecognizability. The only thing standing between them and getting their way is the whims of John Roberts. How terrifying is that? . . .

. . . Still in shock, Democrats are scrambling to find a way to block any nomination. They don’t have one. They changed the rules under the Obama administration (with “the nuclear option”) so they could stack liberals on the courts and their chickens have come home to roost. . . .

. . . But the situation isn’t reversed. This is the bed Democrats made, make them lie in it. . . .

. . . Ginsburg shouldn’t have stayed on the court for so long. . . .

. . . But Ginsburg believed her own press, and the left built a cult around her. Books were written about her, documentaries made, and even a Hollywood production with models playing her . . . And she acted accordingly. . . .

. . . Reports of her dying wish – that she not be replaced until after the election, in the hope of a Democrat being able to do it – showed who and what she really was. Threats of violence show who leftists really are. And that one Supreme Court Justice, any of them, should hold so much sway over the direction of the country shows how far we’ve fallen from the intent of our Founding Fathers…

…Replacing RBG with that is the antithesis of her is the best hope for preserving our liberties and the very concept of limited government. . . .

. . . While the worst thing leftists have going for them is their totalitarian instincts boiling to the top for everyone to see, the best thing they have going for them is spineless Republicans who campaign as conservatives and govern like Democrats. By moving a nomination now, it’ll force a few jelly-spines to harden.

Ultimately, Democrats created this situation for themselves, they deserve a big dose of their own medicine.

Democrats were already talking about getting rid of the filibuster to ram through their bills, packing the courts to ensure whatever they pass is ruled legal, and creating new states to solidify power in the Senate, why … shouldn’t we take them at their word? When someone tells you who they are, believe them…

I think everyone on this Forum, and I hope most Americans, would agree that terrorism of any sort has no place in our country.

That’s what I believe, and that’s the way it has been, until the recent spate of riots and mob rule. We should never capitulate to threats of violence.

Better talk to NP CS et all …they are completely devoid of any ethics.

The author speaks of limited government. How limited is government really when it tells a mother whether or not she can bring her baby to term and tells people whom they are allowed to or not allowed to marry? These seem like awfully personal decisions to me.

But apart from this, what a disrespectful castigation of RBG and her role as champion for women, LGBT, and minorities her whole life, way before she became a Supreme Court Justice. She will be justly remembered as a heroine and role model for both women and men after the writer of this article is long forgotten.

So basically you believe we cannot legislate morality, yet it’s ok to force immorality on the citizens by way of mandates etc?

We can try to legislate morality but, in most cases, it fails, and for good reason. Which mandates are you referring to which “force immorality”?

Government funded abortion.Gender fluidity indoctrination in public schools ,

the blood of the innocent takes it out of the realm of “personal decision”. the government should protect the child and yes it will be/is a child from being murdered.

What about government-funded war? Do you object to that as well? We pay for all sorts of things we don’t need, want, or believe in.

With regard to “gender fluidity indoctrination,” as you put it, I agree that the left has gone a bit overboard. However, I also understand the intention of schools to instill in youth a move in the direction of tolerance so that those young people who are gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex will one day no longer be the objects of hatred, violence, and death. That in itself sounds pretty moral to me.

Melterboy2 . . . .

What are you talking about here?

Are you talking about China and forced abortion that Obama was at least publicly silent on? Or something else?

There has been some of that and it is wrong.

But the sexual deviant is by far, their own biggest enemy Melterboy2. For all these things that you mention too (self-hatred, self-violence, and self-induced death).

I am talking about the drive by some to make all abortion illegal in the United States. I am not talking about China and forced abortion, which I know little about, and which is just as immoral as eliminating a woman’s right to make her own decisions on a matter so personal to her. There is no limited government in either case.

Wrong. The biggest enemy to these people are other people who are too self-righteous for their own good or are just out to make trouble for those who are different and peculiar in their eyes.

I just saw a television documentary on the plight of intersex people in the U.S. I was aware they existed but not aware of how much they have been tormented by others, including the medical establishment that wishes to correct their abnormality. It was an eye-opener for sure.

Melterboy2 thinking OKing of murdering of innocent people equates to “limited government” . . .

It is not OK to take a subset of people, and
RE-DEFINE THEM as less than people,
and think that is OK.

That never ends well.

It did not end well in ancient Greece or Rome.
It did not end well with slavery.
It did not end well with Nazi Germany.
And it will not end well with the murder of innocent pre-born babies.

This is not a “right”.

It is a “right” to live without being murdered.
