Nowhere in the passage do we see Jesus establishing Peter as the one to lead the church.FredSmith
Matthew 16: 16 - 20
I these verse Jesus established Peter as the one to lead the Church
âNew Adventâ is not the word of God.As far as Infallibility form New Advent:
Infallibility - In general, exemption or immunity from liability to error or failure; in particular in theological usage, the supernatural prerogative by which the Church of Christ is, by a special Divine assistance, preserved from liability to error in her definitive dogmatic teaching regarding matters of faith and morals.
Nothing here telling us to build statues of her and bow and pray to them.On The Blessed Virgin. I have found know where were devotion is required, Highly and strongly recommended. again form the New American Bible:
Gospel of John ch 19: 26 - 27
No, He asked a friend to watch out for His mother. Here Jesus moments before death gave his mother to us.
Nowhere in Luke are we told that Mary is the mother of God, or that she prays for us, or that we are to pray to her or worship her.Read th First chapter of the Gospel of Luke. A condensed version is Th Prayer " Hail Mary full of grace blessed are you among all women and Blessed is the fruit of thine womb, Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of god pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
First of all, if what youâre saying is true, then why does 1 Cor say that the church is still subject to the word of God?You are being unbiblical by giving FULL authority in a thing which tells you to take disputes to the Church, and not to âa collection of writingsâ.
And what verse is that?In other words itâs TELLS you to not use it as the final arbiter of truth, as it canât be used to interpret itself.
You CAN know! But only until you sin again.Quote:

And the Bible says that we can know.
Why should I take your word over Godâs?
If you pretend to know what you canât know, then that would be an untruth. But, once again, Iâm not here to convince you of anything as youâre quite unconvincable.Quote:
You pretend to know the future? That is âlyingâ at least (though more likely merely simple minded âwishful thinkingâ), if not actual âattempted sorceryâ!
Wow. A Roman Catholic thinks Godâs word is a lie. Iâm shocked.
No. Ours are based on Godâs word.So now youâre giving classes like Catholics do?
It isnât your Bible, it isnât your cross and you can keep that abomination you call the Eucharist.Thatâs great. Really. First, you borrow our Bible. Then our Eucharist. Then our cross. All things Protestants refused before. Now, you are giving classes like we do.
You havenât been respectful at all. Youâve been very rude, just as youâre continuing to do now.As for being nasty, I was very respectful to you in that post that you quoted me from.
This coming from someone who believes that Jesus is a Saltine. The Holy Eucharist Ritual got whittled down to Crackers and Welches Grape Juice.
According to the Bible, Jesus is no longer on the cross. The Crucifix got whittled down to just a cross (which without Jesus is just a useless piece of wood).
The classes themselves never stop. The classes? 9 months or not?
You wonât learn because you donât want to learn. You just want to defend Roman Catholic heresy. If you can openly debate without getting offended or taking things personal, then we both will learn.
Actually, I still havenât found a Roman Catholic who knows the Bible. Certainly I havenât here.I think youâre just facing the âshockâof coming across Catholics who know their stuff Scripturally.
Iâm a Christian. Evidently, thatâs enough. Before thou judgeth others for their treatment of you,
think of what you may have said or done (passively) to incur their words.
And if you were born again, youâd have a new nature. Some of us are just plain nasty from the start (just as Iâve encountered on other Christian sites of the non-Catholic persuassion), but thatâs human nature.
I have no background in theology. Only a foreground. And itâs a lovely rather silky filter which clarifies my view quite nicely.Quote:
Please do read up a bit on REAL theology before giving us the rather humorous image you present of your community.
And what is your background in theology?
Thatâs right. It still does not say that Mary is the mother of God.hi fredsmith St Luke writes chapter1:43 âand how have i deserved the mother of my Lord should come to meâ
And how arrogant must you be to believe that you need to âcorrectâ Godâs word?sayiny you are not saved is not an insult but a correction to your way of thinking.
If youâre not born again, then all of the Roman Catholic rituals in the world arenât going to help you.by the same token if one is âsavedâ then one should have no desire to comit sin yet we still do. and the reason for this is we know not ourselves completely.
Then youâve got no right to criticize mine.I have no background in theology.
The hyper-sensitive mind of the typical protestant shows itself any time something true but ânot actually laudatoryâ is said about them.Quote:
Thanks for yet another illuminating view into the protestant mind.
And thank you for yet another illuminating example of the rudeness of Roman Catholics.
Fred,

may I offer my apology. You posted a smiley face and to tell you the truth I amoh good now that i am âsavedâ i can go rape and pillage to my hearts content with no fear.
I addressed this very topic in post 106I believe the greatest heresy in the american evangelical protestant church is that if you prayed that Jesus Christ would come into your heart, He will definitely come in.
