So for you to accept what I state, I have to be mentioned in the Bible. But not only that, I must be mentioned as an authority of its translation/interperation.

Im not even suggesting that homosexuality is condemned or condoned in the Bible, I am suggesting that it is not as clear as has been suggested.

Yes this is a popular one, unfortunatly the translation is difficult and could mean several things.

The word used for “abomination” can mean “ritually unclean” or “ritually impropper” which would put them in the same catagory as eating pork, gathering sticks on a Saturday, wear mixed fabric clothing or weap tattoos. The sort of things that christians dont adhere to today.

The main part of the verse is tricky with the first part literally translating to:

“And with a male you shall not lay lyings of a woman”

I dont really think that it is really clear in what it means. It could mean “dont lay with a man as you do a woman” or “dont lay with a man in the bed of a woman” or “dont lay with a man as you would with a woman” ect.

So it could say dont commit male homosexual acts and it could say dont commit them in a womans bed, it could even mean dont think of your self as a woman when having homosexual sex or something completly different.

Some scollars even suggest that it is refering to temple prostitutes and that they shouldnt have ritual sex with a male. I dont know.

Well thats pretty much the same as the one above, except the death penalty has been added.

Well thats more to do with divorce and adultery than homosexuality. Sorry but that doesnt really help.

1 Timothy 1:8-11

Well this translation is bad for starters (using the term homosexuality), it cant really be known what is meant because the word “arsenokoitai” (which your quote translates as “men who practice homosexuality”) appears to be a word that Paul made up. There is no record of anyone using the term before Paul and literally means “man” (arsen) “bed” (koitai). If he had wanted to infer homosexuality, he would have used the word “paiderasste.” which was the standard Greek term for sexual behaviour between men.

So its not clear what is meant.
If Jesus really thought that homosexuality was A-OK, don’t you think he would have told his apostles that? Instead, his apostles, mere years after His ascension, taught that homosexual acts were immoral.

Actually we simply dont know if he was for or against it, the four Gospels seem to be silent on the subject. Maybe he did say something but it wasnt recorded or that record was lost or destroyed.

The thing is that we dont know.
The Early Church Fathers taught the same.

Intentially, no. But then again it may not have been a big issue.

That is not how Christians/Catholics anybody is supposed to treat a homosexual person.
CCC2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
