I'm an active homosexual, am I destined to hell?

I’m not mormon nor have I got any pleasure from this thread at all. Part of me believes homosexuality is sinful, part of me does not.
Something that has dawned on me recently, Teen, is that life is often grey, but God is black and white. The beauty though is that we are all on a journey towards Christ…in God’s eyes. Some are walking away, some towards, but we are all in some way, shape or form, on a continual journey in our faith. Before we sin…we might want to ask ourselves…is this leading me away or towards Christ? Premarital sex will always lead one away from Christ…Christ is always present, but we choose to walk a different path. Regardless of your sexual orientation or preference, having sex before your marriage is sinful, in God’s eyes…so, the next time you think about doing something physical with someone, ask yourself…will this lead me towards or away from my Lord? The ‘details’ of your situation will work themselves out. You will be able to follow the right path, more consistently, I think. I wish you well on your walk. It’s not easy…the devil is always one step behind us. :o

Thanks for that wonderful post! I regret what I did greatly, but I know the lord forgives me and in return, I’ll make sure it won’t happen again. God bless you.

Believe what you want
I believe what the Holy Catholic Church teaches. Nothing more and nothing less.

I know that it must be difficult for you but always remember that God has allowed you to have SSA for the good of your soul. He wants you to fight against SSA and be a good person.
Part of me believes homosexuality is sinful, part of me does not.
Deep down you know that being a practicing homosexual is wrong. You have a God given moral code which is telling you that homosexuality is wrong. However, humans have a flawed nature due to original sin. This is the part of you that wants to be homosexual. You are driven by lust. However, you must practice self control.

Why would you want to be gay? Do you not want a loving wife and a family of your own? Don’t you want children and grandchildren? The life of a homosexual is empty. You can overcome your SSA but you must be willing to fight.

Well, very good then! It took a long thread for you to tell us that Teen!😃 It is not easy…this life. But, thankfully, God is with us, around us, over us, through us…He sees it all, and is just waiting for you and me and all of us to come home. I pray that you will stay the course–you can do it…with God, all things are possible, even the seemingly impossible.

You probably think that death is oblivion. It’s not, but there’s no way to prove that to you. Oblivion never happens.

But to answer the OP: If you are truly forgiven before your death, you’ll find heaven regardless of your acts in life, but it gets MORE AND MORE (exponentially) difficult to do what needs to be done to be truly forgiven, which is admitting your errors, the closer you get to your death.

Best of luck to you! I suggest you start early and avoid the “crunch” and “cramming”.

I am serious, please stop with the judgemental comments.
Please show me how I’ve been “judgemental”?

Your flipancy in response to those offering what you refuse to accept as “serious” assistance to you is the indication that you aren’t taking your own question seriously. You’re simply trying to get a “rise” out of a bunch of “judgemental fundie-Catholic religious freaks”.

Best of luck to you in your endeavors, as I really do hope you will take your predicament seriously and listen to those who are offering you some very profound wisdom.

So do tell: Do you believe in God? Do you believe in Hell? Do you believe in the eternity of our existence during and after death? Do you believe that we simply enter “oblivion” (nothingness) when we die? What do you believe in regards to “rules of life” and “sin” and “consequences of sin” and "life after death?

Yes they are.

Anyways, I’m not gonna worry about my future sex life right now, I need to concentrate on other things at the moment.

God bless–the answer is “no”, you are not ‘meant’ for a lifetime of ‘loneliness’ but you are meant for a lifetime of chaste celibacy.

For the record, one can be in a ‘relationship’ and be very, very lonely --one can be ‘alone’ (not in a sexual relationship) and be the least ‘lonely’ person in the world if one has Christ.

Some of us, heterosexuals as well as homosexuals, have been without a ‘sexual’ relationship for years, even decades, and we are not ‘more lonely’ though we may lack a sexual partner. There are ‘plusses’ as well as ‘minuses’ to being ‘alone’ if one is truly trying to do God’s will. Ask any person who has suffered through a ‘wrong’ relationship just to have the ‘sex’, or to have the ‘marriage thing’ without fully realizing all it means, and they will tell you that it was worse being ‘together’, it was ‘lonelier’ being involved in a sinful relationship than it was/is/would be not being involved in a relationship at all.

Of all the relationships you will have in life, only ONE is to be that of sexual union in a true marriage (one man/one woman) and only IF that is God’s plan. Some of us never find that ‘special someone’, some ‘lose’ that someone (death, the other person loves someone else), but that doesn’t mean we have ‘failed’ or are ‘doomed’ but that we can focus our love on ALL THE OTHER RELATIONSHIPS we have with people. Our parents, family members, and all the people we ‘meet’, indeed people we may never physically ‘meet’ but for whom we work, think, pray, and help, will benefit from our love in this way–and we will not be ‘lonely’ but will be fulfilled.

Do you think Jesus was lonley? Do you think St.francis was lonely? How about Mother Tersa? There are men and women who live chaste lives and live more fully than any married person alive. Read the lives of the Saints. If you chose to pick up your cross and carry it, Jesus says it won’t be easy, it wasn’t easy for him or any of the other saints, he promises you an eternity of unfathimable happiness. My cross might not be as bad as yours but I do carry one. I’m an alcoholic and I can never drink again ,one day at a time. At first it seemed impossible, if you know any thing about alcoholism you know how hard it is for a drunk to not drink, but when I gave my life to God and began to carry my cross I found hope and grace. You could choose to indulge in your disorder and spend this life time trying to satisfy your lust. Please don’t confuse love with lust either. God is Love, not the desires of the flesh. God created man and women in his image. That says something. But we forget there is another who wants you dead, who wants you to give in to this unfortunate burden you bear. He’s whispering in your ear right now saying “Don’t listen to those hipacrites, they don’t understand, why should you have to spend your life alone. You couldn’t do it any ways so why try. If they knew what you went through they would be more understanding. Be free do what you want. God is lying to you. These people are lying to you.” Sounds a lot like the anchient serphant in the garden is up to his old tricks huh. Jesus didn’t just come to us to preach, he became one of us to serve and suffer and even to die a horrible death so that we might follow him. He is in heaven now with his father and he wants you there too. All you have to do is follow, and here’s the good news you are not alone. We are in this together. Don’t listen to that little voice that says their lying. That voice is cunning, baffling and powerful. It only wants you out of the way. Now there are thousands of stories about saints and hero’s who chose to follow Christ and mcuh has been written. Where are the ones who chose to do there own will, where are their stories. We live in a time where there is light, proof that God exist. And proof that if we follow him we will get what he promised, Eternal salvation!
