What is the origin of this phrase?
- I have never seen any bashing on this site, if I had I never would have joined it.
- Anyone can come to Mass, unless you mean that your religion forbids it.
- I agree with you
If this was true that Jesus was only “a god” and not a person of the Holy Trinity/God, than that would mean that He is a False God!Richard,
I do understand the trinity fully. I have talked to many Catholics about it, and it seems that all Catholics do not have the same defintion of the trinity. Perhaps, that’s the case with you. The bible does not support Jesus deity at all. Yes, he is a god, but not The One True God. That title belongs to Jehovah, God, Yahweh. Jehovah has made Jesus King, they are not equal.
As far as hell- Many Catholics believe it to be a place of torment. The bible speaks of hell as hades, sheol, translated the grave. The bible says Jesus went there, as well as other people that God clearly spoke of as good people.
To echo the above poster…really? Are you and I on the same forum, cause I can name a whole lot a names of people on here who bash protestants and mixed marriages pretty bad.

In fact , for me personally , a kinda of even 11 reasons:Would you be so kind as to give me your 3 biggest reasons as to why, according to your denomination and faith, the Catholic Church is unequivocably WRONG in it’s teachings and practices.
Hi Angel,Just a few off the top of my head…
Christ organized the church. Eph. 4:11-14
The church must bear the name of Jesus Christ. Eph. 5:23
The church must have a foundation of Apostles & Prophets. Eph. 2:19-20
The church must have the same organization as Christ’s church. Eph. 4:11-14
The church must claim divine authority. Heb. 5:4-10
The church must have no paid ministry. Isa. 45:13, 1 Peter 5:2
The church must baptize by immersion. Matt 3:13-15
The church must bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. Acts 8:14-17
The church must practice divine healings. Mark 3:14-15
The church must teach Jesus Christ & God are separate and distinct beings. John 17:11 & 20:17
The church must teach God & Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bone. Luke 24:36-39, Acts 1:9-11
The officers must be called by God. Heb. 5:4, Exodus 29:1 & 40:13-16
The church must claim revelation from God. Amos 3:7
The church must be a missionary church. Matt. 28:19-20
The church must be a restored church. Acts 3:19-20
The church must practice baptisms for the dead. 1 Cor. 15:15 & 29
By their fruits ye shall know them. Matt. 7:20
Why are these things important? Heb. 13:8
I can give you 1 Catholic teaching that is unequivocally wrong. The teaching that masturbation is a sin.Would you be so kind as to give me your 3 biggest reasons as to why, according to your denomination and faith, the Catholic Church is unequivocally WRONG in it’s teachings and practices.
Bruxilda.
Again, Ag_not, aplogies.I can give you 1 Catholic teaching that is unequivocally wrong. The teaching that masturbation is a sin.
Here’s why:
Women are able to achieve an orgasm, this is not required to become pregnant so why do women have this ability? Without going into too much biological detail, the area of a woman requiring stimulation, exists for no purpose other than to give women orgasms. An even more pertinent fact, the usual method of sexual intercourse is not very conducive for female orgasm either. That, more often than not, requires extra external stimulation. The very thing that the church incorrectly teaches against.
I look forward to an interesting debate.
There’s nothing shocking in my post, I was very careful not to use any explicit terminology or language in my description, and most importantly it is all factual.R Mcgeddon,

Considering the fact that the majority of women do not orgasm during intercourse, directly contradicts this claim. This is evidenced by the size of the world’s population.Again, Ag_not, aplogies.
The female orgasm serves a very real purpose, it makes it easier for a woman to become pregnant; the reason for the muscles contracting helps the sperm get to the eggs.
You know exactly what area, and if you don’t you shouldn’t be posting on this particular subject. And, what area? There are two places I can think of offhand.
HOW would you know that the majority of women do not orgasm during intercourse? Are you basing this on your experiences?Considering the fact that the majority of women do not orgasm during intercourse, directly contradicts this claim. This is evidenced by the size of the world’s population.
You know exactly what area, and if you don’t you shouldn’t be posting on this particular subject.
That just means you’re doing it wrong. This has GOT to be the very first time, in all the millions of threads I’ve posted on, where it’s gone from
“why, according to your denomination and faith, the Catholic Church is unequivocably WRONG”
to
"the majority of women do not orgasm during intercourse."
It’s a first for me…

Amen, love that passage! The Catholic Church does not deny the priesthood of the believer.RA: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9).
This sounds like he gave his authority to his “royal priesthood” – i.e., anyone who calls on his name and is who is truly one of his disciples. If so, that would explain very well such passages as
Luke 9:1 “he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases”
To whom did Jesus give that authority? To everyone, or His chosen Apostles?Luke 10:19: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy”
In other words, the “church” (Gr., ekklesia, “called out ones”) are all true Christians. And resident within them, as members of the new royal priesthood (as opposed to the Old Testament) priesthood, we have the “authority” of Christ who dwells in us.
Hence, the “Church” that has authority is not some building, or some group, or some organization run by a hierarchy (and a hierarchy with, let’s be honest, a very dark and dubious history).
WE are the church. WE have the authority of Christ. WE are the priesthood.
Then why don’t WE all agree on what the Bible says? Is the Holy Spirit schizophrenic?R.A.
