I’m not Zerinus, but as someone who has been a Mormon for the past 38 years I think I can answer your questions.
Zerinus, do LDS put their book of mormon, on a par with the holy bible?
Do you believe the book of mormon is inspired of God?
The Bible is only true “as far as it is translated correctly”. The Book of Mormon, we are taught, has been correctly translated by Joseph Smith.
In that regard the Book of Mormon trumps the Bible, but the Bible is still held in high esteem.
Does the LDS church believe that God is still giving your church new revelations from heaven, after the last death of the apostle?
Theoretically, yes. Practically, no. It’s a funny game we play.
For example: Brigham Young gave revelations that declared African-Americans to be animals who had no souls, and authorized the blood atonement (that’s a human ritual sacrifice) for anyone who had sexual relations with anyone who had any African heritage.
This was accepted as a revelation and the unchanging word of God until the IRS threatened to remove the LDS church’s tax exempt status as they were indulging in racial segregation. In 1978, President Spencer W Kimball got a new revelation. God changed his mind, just in time for the tax man! All of a sudden, Blacks weren’t “cursed descendants of Ham, and the seed of Cain” any more. They were human beings too!
That was accepted as a revelation until just a few years ago. Now, guess what? Brigham Young never spoke as a prophet when he condemned Blacks. He was just “giving his own personal opinion”. Spencer Kimball never overturned anything. Blacks were always accepted as full members in the LDS church.
Does that make sense? Don’t worry, it doesn’t make sense to most Mormons either.
How does one enter into the kingdom of God through the LDS church?
There are different levels to the kingdom of God in Mormon mythology. To get into the highest level (the one where you get to actually be in the presence of Heavenly Father) one has to not only be a faithful Mormon, but he has to be married, to have paid all his tithes and offerings, and to have memorized a lot of ridiculous signs and tokens in LDS temples.
Catholics and others who lived good lives will be accepted to one of the lower levels of heaven.
What does one have to do to be saved?
Depends upon the definition of “saved”.
Does God still allow multiple wives to be married to one man in your LDS church?
Yes. Part of my beef with my church is the fact that I can be sealed to more than one woman, but if I were to die, my wife would not be able to be sealed to anyone new. Quite sexist, no?
What happens to your soul when you die?
What happens when Jesus returns?
Both depend upon the status of the deceased and his works on earth.
