why does everybody even want me to stay, whats it gonna matter if i leave? not like anything i done here matterd, which was the point of why i started

oh, the picture of the guy with the wedding cake on his head isn’t creepy? go figure.
It’s not a wedding cake, it is the Papal Tiara, which had been worn by Popes for a long, long time to symbolize their power.

I do not find it creepy at all.

okay this might be my last thread, wether or not im gonna stay in catholic forums or leave is gonna be up to you

jst a simple “stay” or “get out” would be apreciated, i’ll decide on friday wether or not to stay

your wiccan friend,

This is so HIGH SCHOOL

You are quite welcome to stay but I am not going to beg you.

Have you learned everything that you wanted to know about the Catholic Church? Are there any other things that you are longing for? Do you think that we have any more answers to your questions?

Think about the questions I have just asked you. Decide what your answers are. Then decide if you want to stay or go. Whatever you do, :blessyou:

Your presence here has indeed mattered, reborn pagan. I’ve learned from your posts. You’ve helped me grow in my Catholic Faith.

As for your decision whether to stay or go, I pray that whatever your decision is will be what is truly best for your eternal happiness.

That is a paradox of your own faith tradition. Does blowing about in the wind, doing whatever you will, ever matter in the end?

You matter to us. Not because we hope to convert you, as some people said above, either. 😛 Because you are made in the image and likeness of God, and that’s pretty cool. Because our faith is full of martyrs and confessors whose stories we may never know, but who are remembered and praised to this day. Because all we do takes us one step closer or further from partaking in the life of the Trinity, and we genuinely want to see you make it there with us. Because your words here have undoubtedly spurred someone to strengthened faith and knowledge, charity and compassion, love of neighbor and of self. We can appreciate that goodness in you and we can love the Creator who put it there ever more. We love you Reborn, and we know you have purpose even if you don’t. I’ll pray for you to discover what that purpose is and the path to fulfilling it.

Your profiles says Catholic…

Odd for a Catholic to refer to an image of Pope St. Pius X in the Papal Tiara as a “guy with the wedding cake on his head”.

A Catholic should have some respect for one of the greatest Popes in recent centuries and an ancient symbol of the Papacy.

And here I thought tiaras were only worn by beauty contest winners and drag queens.

So, you’re saying that since you are aware of the context you don’t find it “creepy” that the man is wearing such ornate headgear. Perhaps, endeavoring to learn the context of the picture you call creepy would similarly enlighten you and dissuade you from casting such aspersions.

Not if they have a working set of eyeballs. Oh, but it seems we’ve run afoul of the Catholic police. Apparently, if one is “truly” Catholic, certain observations are not allowed?

I’ve never seen this crown and that Pope does look a bit strange with that “Tiara” on his head…and it does look a bit like a wedding cake…funny. It’s obviously an old tradition, I haven’t seen it…who was the last Pope who wore it?

I’m off topic…please stay OP:D

It looks like a wedding cake. To YOU he is the greatest Pope, that is your opinon. I was just commenting on your reference to reborn_pagans picture…because I know where you were going. Wiccans do not worship the devil and are not evil. I have not read all of reborn_pagans posts…so I will share with you, what I know about Wicca. Wicca is a earth practice. The mother earth is sacred. It is not wasted, destroyed, or used haphazardly. Everything that comes from the earth returns to the earth and is reborn. Some of the wiccans I know, do not drink, smoke, or put anything in their bodies that would harm them. No do they harm anyone else, beast or fish or fowl. There is a Creator, but I never really got down to WHO exactly that is.

It’s not my cup of tea, but I will not deny a person who practices a faith that nurtures the earth, a one way ticket to hell.

Caesar that’s not very nice, she is a good Catholic and a lovely lady. She was just being funny. No one is disrespecting any Popes. His head gear does look a bit like a cake, I’m sorry you don’t see the humor 🙂

Ooooh, nice. Everyone wants one of those…
Would Jesus wear something like that on earth, while riding a donkey? Did Peter?

I remember attending Mass in the basilica two years during a graduation Mass, and some of the older priests brought what looked like ornate crowns to be worn. Some were more attentiong getting than the Cardinal’s miter. Really caused a thought or two to float through my mind.

Actually, ‘tiaras’ are those headbands Persian cavalry wore during the wars with Greece. By extension, it means any headband.

The so-called Tiara Pope St. Pius is wearing looks more like a miter. That, two, is a Persian hat.

Anyway reborn_pagan, stick around. But, and not to sound like Yuuko or anything, *you *must decide what is right for you. Nobody can do it for you. Okay, so I sounded exactly like her.

But I think we all want you to stick around. An actually coherent pagan is a nice change of pace (the other one I can remember came off as a bit flaky, possibly because English wasn’t her first language); it’s boring with a theological gamut from A to not-quite B. Sure, there’s a Muslim or two, couple Jews, maybe a Mormon or atheist (and one guy who says he’s a Taoist), but mostly what we have is various flavors of Christianity.

PS, to whomever said “this is so high school,” I believe reborn-kun is in high school. So cut him some slack. You were that age once (I’m 22, so I remember it pretty well).

Symbol of power? Why? Wouldn’t his words and actions speak more sincerely than a tiara?

Stay…if you want to stay or just don’t care one way or the other, what can it hurt?

What do you mean that nothing you have done has mattered? Define what it would take for you to believe it matters? I believe that there is a purpose for most everything…including your presence on this forum. You make a difference, and you certainly matter.

Again: Stay.

Your Catholic Friend,
Kindred

Well put Juli, I feared things would go in this direction as well but it looks like a few have encouraged her to stay. It’s nice to see.

OP, us Catholics are a wacky bunch but we aren’t so bad 😉
