Im thinking of leaving the church

Thanks for your reply. I think it’s really important to listen to some of the folks here, MANY who have converted from fundamentalists/evangelical churches. Are you willing to do the hard research to determine what is true aside from the garbage you’re being fed?

I agreed! Doberman’s reply came straight from a very Anti-Catholic protestant with a huge agenda. Protestants here don’t even think Virgin Mary is a goddess.

um… I’m a little more worried about you… you just don’t seem like a Catholic… maybe one who was told by their parents that they were Catholic but you don’t know anything about the Catholic church… I know Lutherans who understand the Catholic faith better than you… 🤷

Thank you too. Worrying for each other is a sign of Christian’s love and I am appreciate that. Yes, I am very aware of Satan pretending.

However, what would say to this - I was in a mess in my life, and the rosary brought me back to God. I was asking her to pray for me “a sinner” If this were Satan, he would be a looser - not me.

how do you explain about Native Americans converted to Catholic after Virgin Mary appear in Mexico?

Do you know what the prayer of Rosary is all about?

Doberman: Isn’t it obvious that this video can’t stand up to scrutiny? Why else would the poster of the video disable further comments? Plus, I’ve seen comments left by this poster on other videos. He’s a hard core “Catholicism = Satanic cult” kind of guy. Do you really want to listen to someone who is so extreme? These kind of people are on the far fringes of Christianity, if you can even call them Christian. Please don’t even consider following paranoid loud mouths like these.

How can you say that “glorifying her” is “IDOLATRY” when according to Paul, God himself glorifies her as well as all the blessed?:

Doberman, this is just a perfect example of gross distortion by a Protestant understanding (misunderstanding!) of Scripture. Is St. Paul also wrong and devilish in his words to the Corinthian Church below?:

For if you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, by the gospel, I have begotten you.- 1 Corinthians 4.15

Protestants often ignore inconvenient scriptures.

The Bible is not the only source of authority, so is the Church:

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth - 1 Timothy 3:15

Doberman, I will pray for you too. I do not judge you, but I feel truly you are being attacked by Satan. Not because Protestants cannot be good Christians, or do not have any truth; but because you seem to be laboring under so many misunderstandings, and these misunderstandings of the faith that are troubling you are being fed by the Father of Lies.

I respect someone wanting to change religions. But you should not change religions like you are changing a shirt. I too, left the Catholic Church, and spent 12 years as a fundamentalist. It was time for me of misery and stunted personal growth. It was such a fear-based faith experience.

The true faith is in the Catholic Church. If you leave the church, you will no longer have the Body & Blood of Christ. The very earliest writers directly after the Apostles Ignatius, Justin, Irenaeos, all consider the Eucharist to be the true flesh of Christ. Ignatius knew John the Apostle, and tells us that the Eucharist is the true Body of Christ. if you cannot trust these early fathers on doctrinal issues, than you cannot trust the Bible, for it is the fathers that teach us which books are canonical and go into the Bible.

You do not understand Mary’s position; she is not a goddess, we do not worship her. But neither is she merely an incubater, to be tossed away after Jesus is born. she is the Mother of us because she is the Mother of Christ. She is the gift of the creation, Christ is the gift of the Father.

You have a treasure here in the Catholic faith, please do not throw it away lightly.

I pray for you, please, please talk to one or more good knowledgeable priest. Do your research. Again, I am not denying that there are good Protestant Christians, many of them are my dear friends. But Protestantism is barely 500 years old. It does not have the fulness of Christ’s Church.

Please, do not make a rash decision. Get some (name removed by moderator)ut from others, too.

well maybe i used the term in the wrong spot not knowing if he truly follows christ yet, but hes on the right path. And you as a defender of catholisism(spell check) are NOT my brother in christ, for christ has no home in the halls of your Cathedrals. I have no reason to share, you will only criticize and hide behind masks and go off topic, you guys prove to be very slippery, not confronting the issue. If he wants truth he can come have a private conversation and then put my words to the test, if he doesnt test them it would be wrong. Its his decision, dont attack me for offering him truth.

gods love is in my heart, one of my closest confidants is catholic. you must understand my position. I have learned enough that i can no longer remain silent about the catholic religion and its falsitivity(not sure its a word but you know what i mean). I have nothing against catholics, as my confidant proves. I truly enjoy the company of many of them. But i hate the sin, love the sinner. I would give my life that i might get you all to realize the truth, if it were possible i might even consider damning my own soul to save the Catholics. I love you guys and my heart constantly yearns to see you in Gods kingdom. But i must remain true to God and not condone what you do. Please understand what i mean.
 
I would suggest reading the actual Bible and not basing everything off of these webesites you refer to. The only bible versus you have quoted to this point were the same ones quoted in the God-forsaken website (Truest use of the phrase).
I know this might sound crazy, but even the King James version talks about Jesus giving man the ability to forgive and retain another man’s sins (It’s in there, read it). Paul speaks of your sins being purged, really I’m not kidding, even the apocraphyl King James get’s it right sometimes. There’s also this crazy Angel named Gabrieal who says “Hail Mary” :eek: How “Satanic” (As the website you posted claims).
By the way, a baptist friend of mine admits that he can get no explanation for the verses I mentioned above, but we have them right here baby. The one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I don’t intend to be condescending but some of your statements lead me to believe that you havn’t even read the Bible.

I will pray for you and the poor poor person who created that horrific Website.
 
since you didnt quote i dont know if you meant me. ive read the bible and i know about it. I doubt Jesus said man can forgive sins, if he did our faith is futile we have no reason to believe in him if we are stronger. Man is god. is that true? no. So show me the verse. But from now on i will be silent, he can contact me himself if he wishes.

Thanks for explaining further, specops, and that helps me to know and understand you more. This was the reason why I invited you to discuss further on what you think and know about the Catholic.

If you love us, wouldn’t you be patient and tell what you have in your heart rather than thinking that we would plug our ears and won’t listen to you?

As you said, hate the sins, love the sinners. How could we all love sinners exactly?

Offering up your life is a very admirable sacrafice, but it’s already been done and I believe it was quite sufficient. But offering up your salvation? come on. I love mankiind and it hurts me deeply to see someone be led astray, but I would never give up my salvation for another creatures soul.

Also you accuse Catholics of hiding behind masks and going off topic yet you don’t even state your position. Whose doing the hiding here?

My last post was directed at doberman not you, as you have sited nothing at all from the Bible. John 20:23-“Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” I don’t know how you could interpret that any differently. And who said anything about us being stronger?
