After proving that global temperatures are still rising (from the met site) the met then claims that temperatures are still rising but not as rapidly. That is contentious, however,I will provisionaly accept that. As the Met site you gave shows, earth’s temperature is now so high that even if the rate of temperature increase slows down we are still entering a very dangerous phase.
Similarily, if I speed up (in my car) rapidly to 75 miles per hour and then increase my speed at a much lower rate (lets say I increase my speed 1 mile per hour every minute instead of my original acceleration of 1 mile per hour per second) I am still entering a very dangerous phase.
 
In the article I referred to it says,“The Met office also refutes Delingpoole’s claim that it had conceded that there is no evidence that global warming is happening.” The Met is then quoted in that article," In fact, we explicitly say this is not the case." [that there is no evidence for global warming]
Yes double negatives are confusing (Delingpoole relies on that). However,it is obvious that the Met knows that global warming is real.
Delingpoole also knows that by saying that acceleration is decreasing,many people will assume that there is no acceleration. Actually he does not use the accurate term "acceleration " because that would expose the absurdity of his “reasoning”.
 
at least you accept the weather experts, the Met Office, - if only provisionally.

but dont forget that the climate is not changing at 75 miles per hour. it changed 0.75 degrees C over a period of 100 years and its rate of increase is now slowing even from that tiny tiny amount over the last 100 years.

don’t forget also that towards the very end of the last ice-age the Global Climate increased and decreased many times and very rapidly. the largest increase was +8 degrees C in 5 or ten years and similar scale coolings happened only a bit slower than that in steps.
 
Ironically, the Met site you gave strengthens my position and weakens yours. That Met site gives tons of evidence about how serious global warming is.

…how serious it is if it was happening as people say. projections, you know. but facts are more interesting, slowing increase from a measly 0.75 degree C increase over 100 years. facts my dear boy! facts!
 
OK, the Met is wrong (about the seriousness of global warming), NASA is wrong, the American Meteorological Society is wrong,Scientific American is wrong and EVERY scientific organization in the world of national and/or world reputation is wrong. And you and the Daily Mail are right! Obviously, I strongly disagree.
 
the Met Office is right, the rate of increase has slowed. i don’t know anything about the others.
 
As I said I accept provisionally what your interpretation of what the Met said. But even if I accept your interpretation of the Met site,without reservation, it still strengthens my position and weakens yours.
The increase in temperatures continues and we are entering a VERY dangerous phase!
 
i’m not interpreting, i’m quoting the Met Office.

the only danger is that we might cool enough to enter the next ice-age - which is overdue now.

Could you provide the “Law of Physics” that supports your claim?

CO2 s composed of two oxygen atoms covalently bonded to a single carbon atom.

Molar mass of CO2 is 44.00964 ± 0.00003 g/mol

It’s Molar Mass weigh does not change.

Molar mass of CH4 Methane ] = 16.04246 g/mol

Which is heaver?

The atmosphere is blind to methane or CO2 - It’s effects are equally applied.

Gravity is blind to methane or CO2 - It’s effects are equally applied.

Methane being the lighter - would resist gravity longer.

Methane’s Lifetime in Atmosphere 6-12 years.

Clearly the scientific weight of the NAS statement pales in comparison to the AMS meteorologist survey.

Yes the IPCC claims were inaccurate. They played it safe and underestimated. Now,however,all the scientific organizations in the world agree that the IPCC estimations were wrong, its much worse.

I am using a tablet,but I will go to the library and give sites that confirm what EVERY scientific organization in the world of national and/or international reputation confirms,that global warming is real!

Here is the real conspiracy (taken from my post on another thread):

It was a complex plot right from the beginning that would have taken beings with supercomputer intelligence to come up with, starting well before the time when the Dominators contracted with bin Laden to attack us, leading to grossly enhanced security measures and detracting our attention from anthropogenic global warming (AGW), also causing (or giving pretexts for) extremely expensive wars, throwing our economy into a tailspin, further detracting from AGW concerns.

Well, little by little obscure, arcane laws are being put in place that on the face seem reasonable security and economic measures, but one day people living within 100 miles of the coasts and borders will wake up to find themselves disenfranchised (i.e., mainly the people not buying into the climate change denialist or Agenda 21 conspiracy theories). Ostensibly this is for security measures and to ensure bitumen tar sands economic prosperity and fracking happiness to all. Who are these “Dominators,” you ask, who are spinning lies that AGW is a hoax and mitigating it will harm not help people? Well, eventually the denialist industry henchmen and fossil fuel CEOs will find out the Dominators have also betrayed them when global climate reaches some 3C warming around 2050 or so, when they can no longer brain-wash the gullible public into denying AGW bec the Cat 5 hurricanes are whirling around the Arctic while Cat 7 hurricanes are bashing our coasts and our crops have totally failed due to the super heat-spells, droughts, wildfires, and Noah-type floods. These denialist industry henchmen and fossil fuel CEOs will find out too late their free trip to a terraformed Mars promised by the Dominators was not actually in the works or even in the plans.

So as we head into a runaway scenario, the Dominator supercomputer robot/androids from Area 51, who look exactly like humans, will “decommission” the denialist powers-that-be and take over the oil companies and government with look-alikes (some have already been taken over), and start implementing their plans to turn all that decomposing biota (us) into oil for their fuel. Eventually when earth turns into another Venus with 480C temps and these robots are all melted into nothing, then the Zorks from Planet Gork (who created and sent the Dominators to Earth) will have the last laugh at having destroyed a potential enemy (us), since Earthlings were becoming a bit too sophisticated in their technology and space endeavors, but apparently not in their gullibility for climate denialist and Agenda 21 conspiracy theories.

The more important fact here is that the global average temp has not decreased back down to 1960s levels. Considering that the sun has been in an irradiance minimum during that time, one would expect the temps to have decreased back down to 1960s levels.
