My sincere apologizes. This battle has a lot of bullets flying by. In the heat of battle I thought you were disagreeing with me!:o

Google,“Pope climate change”.
catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1104646html
I typed that with extreme accuracy. I have no idea why that site does not link!
Anyway, Pope Benedict agreed that global warming is a fact.
Google “Catholic news, pope climate change.CNS”
The Holy Father agrees Climate is not static - It’s dynamic. ever changing ] and that Natural disasters and economic answers affect the poor.

The Holy Father has never spoken these words from “The Chair” - “Man Made Global Warming” -“AGW”… What does that leave? Natural Climate?

Let’s talk science.

If climate is scientifically understood as “dynamic” and isn’t static - Why would a “Scientist” use a redundant ‘descriptive’ for it by adding “change”?

Pope Benedict obviously believed that global warming is real and something should be done about it.How can you contradict what the Pope said?
Do some googling. If only official Catholic sites like the CNS,thats cool with me.

EVERY scientific organization in the world of national and/or international reputation confirms, that global warming is real!
OF course global warming is real…We are coming out of the Little Ice Age Confirmed with empirical evidence ].

NO one is saying different. 🙂

However, The hypothesis of CO2 AGW says it has to continue warming AND here we are seeming a deviation of that hypothesis with a 16 + year hiatus Confirmed with empirical evidence ].

We are ask for empirical evidence of Alarmist claims. THAT IS SCIENCE! 🙂

So the Pope was part of the conspiracy?!!!😃
How can you believe such outrageous things about the Pope and still consider yourself a Catholic?
The popes (both JPII and BXVI) have been saying over and over again that mitigating global warming (AKA climate change, the greenhouse effect) is everyone’s responsibility. But few listen to them; many are more zonked into Rush Limbaugh science (in Rush they trust, they are a Rush-fearing people).

However, being Catholic does have some impact – 68% of Catholics in America accept anthropogenic climate change, compared to only 62% of non-Catholics. It still means something to be Catholic.

I have an idea. Why not your religion and ours compete to see who can mitigate AGW the best – and may the best religion (and all of us) win. 🙂 Other religions are free to join in this competition.

Here are just a few of the many Catholic statements from popes and bishops on climate change:
  • “Today the ecological crisis has assumed such proportions as to be the responsibility of everyone…The…‘greenhouse effect’ has now reached crisis proportions…”
–Pope John Paul II, “Peace With All Creation,” 1990
    vatican.va/holy_father/john_paul_ii/messages/peace/documents/hf_jp-ii_mes_19891208_xxiii-world-day-for-peace_en.html
  • If You Want to Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation…Man’s inhumanity to man has given rise to numerous threats to peace…Yet no less troubling are the threats arising from the neglect – if not downright misuse – of the earth and the natural goods that God has given us…Can we remain indifferent before the problems associated with such realities as climate change… attention also needs to be paid to the world-wide problem of water and to the global water cycle system, which is of prime importance for life on earth and whose stability could be seriously jeopardized by climate change”
    – Pope Benedict XVI, “If You Want to Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation,” 2010,
    vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/messages/peace/documents/hf_ben-xvi_mes_20091208_xliii-world-day-peace_en.html
  • “We believe our response to global climate change should be a sign of our respect for God’s creation”
–U.S. Bishops, 2001, “Global Climate Change: A Plea for Dialogue, Prudence, and the Common Good,” U.S. Conf. of Catholic Bishops,
    usccb.org/sdwp/international/globalclimate.shtml

I’ll guarantee I have COMLETELY researched what and what not the Holy Father has stated.🙂

Then why are you so obviously wrong about what the Pope said about global warming?

The more important fact here is that the global average temp has not decreased back down to 1960s levels. Considering that the sun has been in an irradiance minimum during that time, one would expect the temps to have decreased back down to 1960s levels.

Don’t be fooled by the real powers that be into going down the up escalator:

:rotfl::rotfl:

Do you let cartoonist [You do know he is a cartoonist - don’t you?] John Cook decide what Skeptics say? BTW his Stepped chart has been debunked.

Pretty vile 😦

I have never heard Mr Rush Limbaugh.
BUT I have heard YOUR attempt at activism disguised as science claims…AND I have politely asked you, many times, to support them.

I haven’t been following this thread, but here is an observation:

Yesterday I was leading a bible study class, and we talked about Jesus and the apostles in the boat on the Sea of Galilee. The storm hits - waves, wind, the boat is filling up with water. The apostles panic, meanwhile Jesus is sleeping. They wake him up and he calms the waves and the wind. Then he asks them why they have such little faith. Jesus’ message is to have faith in God.

So I leave the class, get in the car to go home, and on the radio I hear that John Kerry’s first speech as SOS is not about international politics, it’s about global warming (or as it is now called since that didn’t work, global climate change). What we need, apparently, is more and bigger government, worldwide government in fact, to calm the waves and the wind. His message is to have faith in government. Trust in government (so long as they’re left wing).

This certainly fits the pattern of replacing God with government that seems to be occurring everywhere. If the church won’t marry same sex partners, don’t worry, we’ll have the government do it for you. Don’t trust your fellow man, acting on God’s word, for your well being in times of trouble - trust government.

By definition - what we put our trust / security in is “mammon.” Government is the new mammon. Just ask them, they’ll tell you so.

WHY NOT PRODUCE THE WHOLE STATEMENT?

I have asked you before please don’t turn The Holy Fathers Words.
The gradual depletion of the ozone layer and the related "greenhouse effect"has now reached crisis proportions
.

Has science advanced from that 1990 statement? How is the Ozone? Why did you omit that part?

for the third time; i am quoting, in fact i am copying and pasting directly from the Met Office’s website!

click on the words Met Office to see it written on their website by them themselves!!
Met Office website:

Increasing temperatures

We know from global temperature records that the Earth has warmed by about 0.75°C in the last century. From the 1970s to 1990s warming was faster than over the century as a whole, but the rise has slowed more recently.

NOTE The Holy Father did NOT claim AGW.

AND that violates the hypothesis of CO2 - AGW. CO2 has risen - Temperatures have not.

Even Paddy admitted that temperatures keep rising. His only claim was (eventually after his original stance was proven silly, that temps have not continued to rise) was that the acceleration in temperature increase has slowed. However, even Paddy admitted that temps continue to rise.(post 168)
Anyway, call me anti-Catholic but I will still agree with the Pope!
