I don’t have to know it, I KNOW mine and thats all I need. Now you can proceed to tell me how yours compares to the Catholic Faith,Well then you don’t KNOW my church very well.

Your profile lists as non-denominational. As there are hundreds of flavor of non-denominational, I will use some points from my years of experience in non-denom world. Our faiths are so similar it would not be as confusing as you would think. We already discussed this. Neither faith is more true than the other. I don’t think the process was hard. We don’t do any of that.
Like Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen said, " The truth is still the TRUTH even if no one believes it. and a lie is still a LIE even if everyone believes it."Your profile lists as non-denominational. As there are hundreds of flavor of non-denominational, I will use some points from my years of experience in non-denom world.
Simple fact, something cannot be true AND false. Truth is truth. Some things may be closer to the truth than others - but truth is always truth.
Example 2 + 2 = 4 this is true.
2 + 2 = 17 this is false
2 + 2 = 3 this is also false, however, it is CLOSER to the truth than the answer of 17.
This is simple logic, as an intelligent person you would agree?
Going from that, there are some fundamentals of Faith that Catholics and the average non-denom will agree are truth.
Jesus is the Son of God = true
Jesus died and rose again = true
Jesus will come again = true
I am sure that you can agree with Catholics that these are true.
I wonder about these other things.
The Eucharist is the real body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ under the appearance of bread.
Mary was conceived without original sin, never committed a sin, remained a virgin and was assumend into heaven.
Jesus establised a visible Church on earth, with the Peter and Peter’s successors as the Vicar of Christ on earth.
Confession for the remission of Mortal Sin.
The existance of mortal sin.
The necessity of Baptism for Salvation.
Infant Baptism
These are a few truths. A person cannot believe that these things are both true and untrue, they must be one or the other.
Are you saying that you believe all these things to be true? If so, how can you answer your child when they ask “mommy, is the Host really the Body of Christ?”
If you do believe these things why are you not Catholic?
My views prior to meeting my spouse: I prayed God would help me find a good Catholic woman I could share my life with. I did not seriously consider marrying a woman who did not share my Catholic faith.…what are your views on inter-faith couples? And why do you have these views as well?
You have no right to compare mine to yours unless you know mine. Which you oviously don’t.I don’t have to know it, I KNOW mine and thats all I need.

I wasn’t doing the comparing, you were!!! You said. You have no right to compare mine to yours unless you know mine. Which you oviously don’t.
Thank YouWow! If you believe in the Eucharist, I will pray that God bring you to the place where you can recieve HIM!
It does seem that you believe that one group is true over the other on different things.
Remember, regardless of the age of children, truth is truth - and kids are VERY smart, they will not accept "both ideas are true:.
Catholics have told me themselves how much are faiths are alike.I wasn’t doing the comparing, you were!!! You said.

I say,
I do not have to know all about your faith or any other faith, I just have to know about mine to know it is the TRUE Faith. Truth is truth no matter what else is offered. I do not have to know error in order to know the truth. But for your information, you might just be surprised how much I do know about protestant denominations. It is a little hard to know all about all of them as there are well over 40,000. Bet you don’t even know about all of them.
You show your ignorance, (lack of knowledge) of the Catholic Church, over and over again. I doubt your husband “won’t leave the Catholic Church” because he grew up in it and would miss it, only. The reasons for remaining a Catholic are far more important than just that. It is the fullness of the truth. If you read some of my past posts you will know why leaving the Catholic Church is NO real option. Why settle for something less when you have the whole. That just doesn’t make sense. The Eucharist, I agree.
Mary, some I agree and some I am not sure about.
Pope, I agree, but I also believe he is not the only one.
Confession, I agree.
Mortal Sin, I agree.
Baptism, I agree.
Infant baptism, I agree.
How I would answer my child would depend on his age.
For the same reason my husband wouldn’t leave the Catholic Church. We both grew up in our churches and we would miss them too much if we were to convert. That is one reason why we would like to see unity between our churches. No church is perfect, not even the Catholic Church. I’ve even heard a Priest say that the Catholic Church needs to be more like protestant churches in some ways.
They are probably talking about the belief in the Trinity, creation, Jesus being true God and true man. the life and death of Jesus, that HE died for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day etc. but there are a lot of differences also, and I have listed many of them before so no need to do it again. But the most important ones are Apostolic Succession, 7 Sacraments, transubstantiation (belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. We have soo many beautiful devotions also and the Pope, lets don’t forget him as he is the glue that holds us together. Without the Pope, we would end up like all other denominations, going in all kinds of different directions. Jesus knew exactly what HE was doing when he gave us Peter and his successors.Catholics have told me themselves how much are faiths are alike.

I’ve already shown that I believe in some of things listed above, like transubstation. My church has most of the 7 sacraments. The only one we don’t have is conformation. We have pastors/priests. We have people in charge of regions/bishops. Our pope is Jesus.
Memaw;3671787:
I am sorry but you can’t have most of the 7 Sacraments, you may have baptism and marriage but thats all you can possible have. Because it takes a validly ordained Catholic Priest to administer the others. You do not have Apostolic Succession so your ministers, (no matter what you call them) are not validly ordained and cannot administer the other Sacraments no matter how hard they try. I bet you don’t even really understand what transubstantiation really means. Explain to me what you think it means,OK. Jesus GAVE us the Pope in Peter and now his successors. He is NOT the Pope. HE is the LORD.They are probably talking about the belief in the Trinity, creation, Jesus being true God and true man. the life and death of Jesus, that HE died for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day etc. but there are a lot of differences also, and I have listed many of them before so no need to do it again. I have no idea, but if he really understood and loved his Catholic Faith like he should, the wild horses couldn’t pull him away. But if you were truly wise, you would encourage him to stay in his Faith and then both of you should get some good instructions from someone and you should join him in his Catholic Faith. Then why has he thought about leaving?
This is probably the same as throwing gasoline on a fire, but the whole “Our pope is Jesus” argument opens the door for all sorts of craziness. Yes, Jesus is the greatest, end all, be all authority. No argument. But if we can reject the Pope’s authority, because “Jesus is the pope,” then why even have a pastor at your church? Jesus is the leader of the local church, not the pastor! Who needs him!I’ve already shown that I believe in some of things listed above, like transubstation. My church has most of the 7 sacraments. The only one we don’t have is conformation. We have pastors/priests. We have people in charge of regions/bishops. Our pope is Jesus.
I know Jesus is not the Pope. Jesus is Lord and He is to me what the Pope is to you. As far as transubtantiation is the change of the substance of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ occurring in the Eucharist, while all that is accessible to the senses remain as before.I bet you don’t even really understand what transubstantiation really means. Explain to me what you think it means,OK. Jesus GAVE us the Pope in Peter and now his successors. He is NOT the Pope. HE is the LORD.
I would suggest you take some time to read the Catechism and understand WHAT the Pope is to Catholics.I know Jesus is not the Pope. Jesus is Lord and He is to me what the Pope is to you. As far as transubtantiation is the change of the substance of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ occurring in the Eucharist, while all that is accessible to the senses remain as before.
He loves his and I love mine. I will not leave my church for the Catholic church. I have posted some of my reasons, including the main one, on Reason for not being Catholic.I have no idea, but if he really understood and loved his Catholic Faith like he should, the wild horses couldn’t pull him away. But if you were truly wise, you would encourage him to stay in his Faith and then both of you should get some good instructions from someone and you should join him in his Catholic Faith.
