I can twirl a baton. I am pretty good at it too. My mother was a majorette and she taught me. Unfortunately my HS didn’t have majorettes in the band so I was a cheerleader instead. But I still twirl my baton. It helps me think…if that makes any sense. 😃

I am terribly, terribly shy and yet I have no problem at all with public speaking. I hate to go to parties, but give a speech in front of a 100 people? No problem!

I am very, very conservative in my dress and demeanor and I am almost 60. But I love heavy metal and punk rock. Given the choice between going to see a concert by James Taylor or AC/DC, I’d pick Angus and the lads anytime.

Sure. 🙂

The sad thing was, I KNEW it was ridiculous, but just couldn’t bring myself to buy any. I couldn’t defeat the stupidity of it all! :crying:
**Oh Sancta, it sucks to feel so helpless to what we know are silly irrational things!:hug1: I know it sounds simple, but when you get caught up in the moment, have you tried praying? I have had similar issues and I find it has really helped to just put some things totally in God’s hands. And if you ended up with a non-matched set you could always look at them as the bowls God gave you as a gift. Kind of like when kids make stuff for their parents (you know, the indescribable lumps of clay that are supposed to function as something, lol) and the parents love them because of who they came from, not because of the thing itself?

This one makes me smile. 👍

I played in a rock band in high school and had semi-long hair. (I now am now in the second half of my 20’s, am totally country, and have a crew cut that most people that know me have never seen me without.

I can split a .22lr bullet on an ax head at 25 yards out of one of my target rifles. I almost never tell anyone because they usually don’t believe me and I rarely get a chance to show anyone.

Oh, one more, I considered marrying a protestant. Most of my friends and family are super Catholic and I did not tell most of them.

Speaking of firearms, I am an excellent shot. Pretty much no one in my life (except family) would ever even suspect I have seen a gun, never mind fired a variety, lol.

I’m terribly shy the first time I meet people and it takes me awhile to warm up to them. But once I do, they practically beg me to shut up;)

I’m a coffee QUEEN and gave it up on a dare once (and won). The same person who dared me to do this (with the hope that it would turn permanent) ended up buying me coffee every time we hung out.

I’m an aspiring linguist and it drives me up a wall when I hear things mispronounced (don’t even get me started on words like “biscotti” and “bruschetta”).

I’m into anything music related and am perpetually singing. No big shock that I like the movies Almost Famous and August Rush:)

I told my mom I was moving to Kenya when I was five. Now that I’m in college, majoring in IR and hoping to intern at human rights organizations, that looks like a stronger possibility…Of course, my reasons at nearly 20 are different than my reasons at five (I wanted to see Simba).

how interesting! i’m the polar opposite…i am not shy, but HATE public speaking. I’m forced into it now more and more with my job, and I admit…it’s getting easier…but I would rather drink cod liver oil than publically speak. lol

Add me to the list of people who are shy. I hate talking to people I don’t know, and really don’t talk that much even to my friends, but put a keyboard in front of me and away I go! 😛

I’ve always wanted to be a paleontologist. When I was a kid, I dug holes in our backyard looking for fossils… I’m sure my parents loved that. I still think about it often, and there’s nothing I love more than getting down and digging in the dirt.

I’ve been a singer all my life… did my first solo performance in front of about 500 people when I was 5.

My husband is a professional wrestler. He’s not in the bigtime (yet ;)), but he is on local TV every week. 🙂

I am much the same way. And the older I get, the more withdrawn I become. What is really amazing was that in my atheist days, I regularly went to dance clubs and night clubs and was very successful at picking up women. (The trick is have the bartender server you unsweetened ice tea in a whiskey tumbler on ice. This way, you stay sober but the people around you think you have had a few. Then never talk about yourself, tell the woman she looks nice and is dressed modestly, even if she is dressed like a hooker. NEVER use the word “cute” to describe a woman or her clothes. Keep the booze flowing for her.)

I have absolutely no fear of public speaking. In fact, I often feel more comfortable speaking to a large group of people than one-on-one.

One think I forgot mention earlier, I skipped the 7th grade.

  • I have superpowers
  • I have a weakness: Kryptonite
  • I have an alter ego
  • I have no parents of my own

Then never talk about yourself: so it seems like you’re hiding something?

tell the woman she looks nice: that’s a given

and is dressed modestly, even if she is dressed like a hooker:
WHAT??? Even in my pre-religious days, having some guy at a bar telling me I looked modest even if all my junk was hangin’ out for the world to see would have screamed “whacko!” lol

NEVER use the word “cute” to describe a woman or her clothes: ** Some women LIKE to be cute:shrug:**

Keep the booze flowing for her.): depends on your objective:rolleyes:

I have to have the spoons and forks all nested, same sizes together, in the silverware drawer. My DH is breaking me of this habit.

I can spend HOURS reading Wikipedia - and did read the dictionary when I was little.

My Daddy taught me how to print, and our feet are nearly identical (except for size 😉 )

I have regular recurring dreams of being a great classical dancer, floating like Ginger Rogers around the room 🙂

I cry at nearly anything sentimental or really beautiful

I love sewing things by hand - bridal stuff especially, like pillows, purses, etc.

I have always wanted to learn how to speak Brazilian Portuguese

I am also an excellent shot with a hand gun 😉

And a totally weird one…

I do like peanut butter and eat it now and then. But the smell of peanut butter on a knife in the sink under hot water is enough to make me totally throw up. Honestly, if I were ever to get pregnant, this would truly put me over the edge I’m sure.
