I’ll take everything you say with a grain of salt.

How are these two sexes (which is different to gender) defined?guanophore:
There exists in reality only two sexes. God made them male and female.Legitimate to whom? So you are saying that persons who have half the characteristics of one and half of the other are “illegitimate”? What does that even mean?
I said “legitimate” because in today’s world there is the nonsense of multiple “genders”. Some say there are 52 “genders.” No such thing. Because of that I said legitimate, since the idea of 52 genders is not legitimate. .
Start at the top of the Thread or read a book on Human Biology. How are these two sexes (which is different to gender) defined?
Well, it has been shown that people made then were without flaw and lived centuries. People now don’t, can be born with defects and we have people who are not XX or XY, who do not fit the definition of male or female. You’ll have to begin proving your assertions. I’m afraid that you have no proof!
I’ve been here throughout and every definition had failed. Some folks don’t have XX or XY, some folks have genitals that don’t match the chromosomes they have, some folks have indeterminate genitals. And science textbooks agree that sex is a spectrum.Alex337:

Problem is these people don’t seem to be. Maybe their soul is but I frankly don’t know if souls have a sex.Even if scientifically it were impossible to determine whether someone is male or female, which I don’t believe, God only makes male and female.
Research the Catechism.
They don’t seem but perhaps we’re missing something. Something yet to be discovered?Problem is these people don’t seem to be.
Not a sex per se but God wouldn’t send you back as a woman on the Last Day or vice versa. Many Saints have seen deceased people in Heaven and they resemble their earthly sex; granted, they’re spirits. Even my father had a dream about my sister before my mother was pregnant. In that dream she appeared as a girl.Maybe their soul is but I frankly don’t know if souls have a sex.
Cool, so you think sex may not be dependant on genitals or chromosomes? Just too clarify.Alex337:

I honestly don’t think intercourse will be a large part of the afterlife for me. So I don’t know why I’d need a sex.Alex337:

The answer lies somewhere within the chromosomes and genes. I found a paper in Japan that reported an unknown gene besides SRY could possibly be responsible too.Cool, so you think sex may not be dependant on genitals or chromosomes? Just too clarify.
If being male and female weren’t important, Jesus and Mary would be androgynous angel-like beings. Since they’re not, there must be a greater purpose to being male and female besides copulation.I honestly don’t think intercourse will be a large part of the afterlife for me. I doubt we’ll all be like Christ. Unless we’ll all be guys. I think that’s more that we’ll be alive.1 John 3:2
“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”
We’ll receive our bodies back and from that point on NOBODY KNOWS what we shall do next!
You are right. God made Adam and Eve male and female, but after the fall, there have been all kinds of corruptions to what God intended. God’s perfect desire for humanity is not one of deformity.Apparently you’re missing my point, namely that God made them either male or female even if we cannot distinguish.
Indeed, He created Adam and Eve without mortality! He also created people back then to live for centuries. Things seem to change.
I am glad we can agree on this point. God has allowed many consequences as a result of the Fall, including that persons do not appear from the womb clearly male or female.God doesn’t change. If you believe that we lived that long and then diminished, it can only be through human frailty. God permits certain things to happen.
No, but neither can medical procedures "fix’ the entire problem.I’m not saying that medical procedures should be avoided.
Notice how all your points concern the book of Genesis? Genesis contains the most ancient stories of mankind. You can’t take everything at face value. Now we’re discussing Literal V/S Metaphorical interpretation.
Ahh. So you have it both ways!Sorry, That’s literal Church Teaching. God made One Man and One Woman.
There exists in ideality only two sexes. God made Adam and Eve male and female. What we have in reality is something that does not fit into either. There exists in reality only two sexes. God made them male and female.
Gender is a social concept of how a person lives out their sexual identity in the world. Sex is biological.Because of that I said legitimate, since the idea of 52 genders is not legitimate. .
Does this reflect a deficient understanding of the nature of the Church?Yeah well the church is not perfect, helps to take things with a grain of salt.
I am interested to see that textbook! And science textbooks agree that sex is a spectrum.
