No need to apologize. The more you hear something the more stock you put in it. And you folks have been great in your advice.

To those who suspect scam, please consider the following:
I have paid for and received the introduction to the 2/3 rule. My credit card has not been abused fraudulently.

Personal thoughts:
After reading the first alignment of the 2/3 rule with Creation, and the timeline of natural/biblical history, I personally find it very cool, somewhat simple(and I am not that smart), and interesting!

Please note that I like to live life according to the following rule: Although most ideas are not the best, anything that justifies God’s existence or Word is good, and is one step closer to learning who is God, what does he want, why does he want it, how does he achieve it, and more importantly how can we grow closer to being like that and how can we help spread that. Because the sooner we learn more about the way God thinks and feels and wills, the sooner we can fully embrace the Spirit of God, which will get us to heaven on earth sooner than later. Therefore, based on what I have read and expect to read: although this rule is incomplete given, Jesus Christ is the All-Loving God and this rule does not focus on His Love, it does an excellent job of validating many of the factors of God’s Word and alignment with scientific history.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration! Very impressive work James, and I have only read some!

May the peace and joy of living with Christ be with you all!

Thank your, jochoa, for hitting the nail on the head about what’s going on here.

This is New Age stuff. It attempts to take us away from the real God and give us some kind of universal mechanic.

The Freemasons do it, comparing God to an architect, or mason.

Countless other groups do it.

The devil himself tried to do it with Adam and Eve and our Lord himself.

Pray for itt23r. He has a lot to answer for.

And as for you,
I suggest you drop itt23r’s garbage and turn to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It neatly organizes all aspects of the Truth.

My friend empther, please consider the following:
Please consider the context and purpose of James’ interpretation and message. I perceive his intentions are to prove to other mathematicians and “free masons”, especially atheistic and agnostic mathematicians and non-believers in Creation, the Truth of the Christian God, the Holy Trinity, His Church, and the Laws of living in God’s Kingdom, using a mathematical concept.
Please recognize that this could be the missing element in the “free mason” mindset, which has prohibited it from knowing Jesus Christ is the One and Only God.
I find this to be heavily praise worthy, even if it only helps save one soul. And seeing in the least, it has helped save our friend, James, Hallelujah! Hopefully it will save countless more, for anything that helps saves souls, only means more happiness in Heaven!

Are there any Catechisms in particular you would like me to consider to better help me becoming one with Christ’s Church?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thoughts?

To Jochoa

Thank you for taking the time to corroborate somewhat what I’ve been saying. I am extremely beholding to you for your informed testimony.

And to Empther thank you also for your request that others pray for me. You too have been in my prayers. And I can surely understand why you might think someone who has made the seemigly preposterous claims that I have is New Age. But I assure you that is not the case I am strictly magisterial and if anyone can show otherwise I will throw everything I’ve written into the fire.

But the 2/3rds Rule from my examinations of it does not detract from Church teaching as New Age literature always does. From what I have experienced (and observed in others) the more I learn of it, the more I am drawn closer to the Bible and to the Church and her Sacraments. I am looking forward to further reviews from Jochoa and others who have read (or are currently reading) “Introduction to the 2/3rds Rule.”

Thank your, jochoa, for hitting the nail on the head about what’s going on here.
“…it does an excellent job of validating many of the factors of God’s Word and alignment with scientific history.”

This is the part you selectively unselected out of jochoa’s post to fit with your vehemence.
This is New Age stuff. It attempts to take us away from the real God and give us some kind of universal mechanic.
Not necessarily. Have you read the book? No. Have you read the intro? No. Have you read his detailed responses to our questions? No.

So, with those answers in mind and considerig the context of our friend’s book, you must tell me why you think it parallels New Age practices by explaining and citing different passages from his work and compare them to New Age literature.

At first, I was defending you from his opposition to disagreement. Now, I am defending him because he actually know what he is talking about. You on the other hand aren’t even giving HIM a chance, much less considering read his intro. Even if what you say is true, did it ever occur to you that Catholics read non-Catholic literature? I read Atheist books. I read mythology. Etc… My point is to at least consider it based on the good information he has patiently given us.
The Freemasons do it, comparing God to an architect, or mason.
Ok, cite examples from the Gospel of Creation and explain why the Free Masons and James’s work are closer to each other than either of them to the Catholic dogmas.
Pray for itt23r. He has a lot to answer for.
Add me to that list of people who desperately need prayers. God knows I need it, right now.
And as for you,
I suggest you drop itt23r’s garbage and turn to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It neatly organizes all aspects of the Truth.
That’s not a suggestion. That’s an attempt at stopping jochoa from being curious.

So, Empther, settle down and be rational. Please. Other people are reading this also and they waste a lot of time reading your hateful and inconsiderate posts.

Before you start to flare up and say I’m on his side, you can get real. I’m more of a skeptic than you are about this. Just trust me on that.

And if jochoa is enjoying the book, so what? He is smart enough to figure out if there is anything fishy. Perhaps, his testament should provoke some sort of curiosity on you’re side of the table.

Sincerely,
Gregg

What total nonsense we’re getting on this thread!

Wisely do the 308,690 members of these forums keep their hands off this thread. 😉

As has been noted on this thread jochoa, there is a serious credibility problem due to the presentation done by itt23r. This is even before getting to the mathematics and a theological analysis of the implications of itt23r theory. The credibility issue is one that can not be overlooked.

To Abba;

The Scriptural test of judging a tree by its fruit comes to mind. If the 2/3rds Rule does as is claimed there is no reason to doubt my sincerity. The converse is also true. But I will add, since there appears to be here an accusation of plagiarism, that there is no way a 19th (or early 20th) century theologian could have come up with the mathematics because the science needed to corroborate it was not yet in place.

The usual diversionary tactic.
He draws your attention away from the credability issue raised in the last post, not the one with respect to the theory, but to the theoretician himself.

This will never end.

Thank you very much for your considerations, thoughts, and perspective. Please consider the following:
I can deeply empathize with itt23r, for I too have a universal method of knowing Catholicism is the Truth (however, mine method is firmly founded on the Scripture defining and surrounding the Greatest Commandments), and I too have experienced the struggles generated from being impatient with others through the lack of control of extreme excitement to spread Jesus Christ’s Word and Church.

The aspect of patience that James is and I am currently struggling with is: “Ask and you shall receive.” James knows a solution to the existence of Jesus Christ and Catholicism, however, he hasn’t mastered that if people aren’t asking, they are not open to hear the answer. If they are not open to hear the answer, it will be received with resentment and hatred because closed off people are struggling with conditional-ism and will react accordingly. Please pray for us to kill all impatience in us, as to be fully patient with all.
The make up and adornments are fake and it is a concern. Do you know if itt23r was indeed an atheist?
Please recognize that I can only know things based on limited reasoning. Here we have a friend, who is proclaiming, justifying, and praising the Word of God, His Existence, His Church, and Her Sacraments. Whatever his claim is, if it seems aligned with the praise and worship of God, I will let God be His Judge, for I am not the Lawgiver. I will celebrate the value of messages which Glorify God, and appreciate the lives that spread the means to grow closer to Him.

In regards to credibility:
Anything that helps societies or individuals grow in patience, kindness, motivation, and knowledge, should be credited to the Power of the Holy Spirit. For it is the Holy Spirit in each of us which calls us to obtain greater peace, happiness, use of energy, and wisdom as a society and individuals. And the only way to peace is patience, happiness is kindness, use of energy is motivation, and wisdom is knowledge.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Apparently so.

To Abba

1st Post

I’ve been called on the carpet by a couple of you already for being a little hard to take, overbearing, uncharitable, etc. And so please allow me to publicly apologize for any offensive thing I may have said here. I will try to do better.

As for the way I burst into this Forum you have to admit I got your attention. The truth is though I have no clue how to present this material to the public so on occasions like this I always fall back on the old head first dive. And since I have been butting my head against the ground now for 6 years trying to get the word out to no avail I can obviously use all the help I can get in amending my technique. So thanks for your suggestions. I have already gotten that one offensive remark you noticed removed from the Website.

Regarding the criticism I really do appreciate every critical remark being made. Criticism is something that is sorely missing in polite company. Not so on the internet. People say things to you here they’d never dream of saying to your face. And even though you’re Christians, no one can accuse you of not being a tough crowd, either. (Not quite as tough as the atheist forum I dove into last month but close). But I always knew you would be tough. I had no false expectations that this was going to be easy It’s never easy. But I also knew something coming in that none of you did. I have the truth on my side and I’m neither stupid or crazy. So armed with that we’ve gotten this far. hopefully the rest of the way won’t be so rocky.

And finally, as to calling this discovery a fifth Gospel I fully understand what you are saying and how it can be misconstrued but i really don’t know what else to call this discovery other than a Gospel. For just as it was when Christ entered Jerusalem and He said to the Pharisees “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!” I believe Him. I really do think that the Gospel screams to us from every pore of Creation. Now the book I’ve written is not that Gospel. It is about that Gospel and maybe I need to make that clearer. But maybe to my detriment I have always had a flair for the dramatic so that is where I left it. And calling myself its translator, what else should I call myself? I’m certainly not the author of this Gospel. God is. Post 2 next.
itt23r has taken an incredible step by publicly apologizing, repenting, reconciling his works, and even asking forgiveness from others. I recognize and am learning from the humility this man has and is experiencing, all because he is “too” excited and loses some patience and kindness when sharing his method of knowing Jesus Christ and His Church.
To Langdell
And this is exactly the sort of advice I came onto this forum to get. Thank you and from your’s and other’s comments on this issue I think I have come to the same conclusion. Next time i will…
He is even asking for our help.
And to Empther thank you also for your request that others pray for me.
He even humbles himself to recognize that he needs prayers because he is not perfect and has made mistakes.

Given that he is trying to give glory to the Power of the Holy Spirit for writing this work, but is unsure how to say it, I can easily believe his claims and not worry about whether about his truthfulness. If he is lying, only God and him would know, and that would be between the two of them.

Thoughts?

I think it is worth noting St. Anselm of Canterbury’s saying: “faith seeking understanding.” If itt23r’s discovery has indeed fostered his faith (by comprehending the immense influence God has on his creation), then I can only see inherent goodness. Humans have an innate desire to understand; and if understanding Creation further develops our relationship with God, then it is so much better for our souls! Moreover, if itt23r feels called to spread this “discovery,” which I believe is inherently good, then he is fulfilling his obligation in glorifying God. However, if it does become known that this whole thing is a scam, I applaud you itt23r; for you’ve obviously made me think otherwise. :tiphat:

However, if it does become known that this whole thing is a scam…
People have used the word ‘scam’ to describe the concerns on this thread. I do no think that if someone purchases the book their credit card would be misused. jochoa even noted that as far as his credit card so far so good. This is not my concern here. I also think that the three priests and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Chancery Office did make those statements. I can also appreciate the concerns of the ‘Chancery Office’ and their request at first to have their comment removed and then to note that their comment does not mean they endorse the book. It is difficult for this modification to achieve it’s purpose given the statement:

“The author creatively uses vast resources from many disciplines to develop this monumental lifetime work …. a unified vision of the history of our universe which is clearly the creative work of the Word … a marvelous achievement.”
Archdiocese of Cincinnati Chancery Office

I think these accolades are legitimate as I think the moderators of CAF would have already confirmed that these statements were made by the three priests mentioned and the Chancery Office. Afterall, these statements are being published on this website with the names of priests. The moderators have not made any comments to the contrary nor have the priests nor the Chancery Office. The Chancellor responded to an inquiry by Innocente but itt23r noted that, that Chancellor has been there only two years.

To say that my concern is not that there would be credit card fraud nor that the accolades are false.

My concern is with the lack of revererance demonstrated by itt23r and to offend only to back out and sensationalize all to sell his book. I also appreciate a serious lack of originality and sincerity in the presentation/platform. It appears to me that the platform has been built with a lack of foundation and may be moved. It may not be, but, I do not see the foundation that assures fidelity to the Catholic Church. A discovery does not have to demonstrate fidelity to my faith but when it makes the claims about my faith it would be of serious interest.

People here are not out to negatively criticize a theory that would contribute to the understanding. To the contrary, I think people would welcome it with open arms. The cautions are taken because the way it has been presented and with the intentions that it has been presented.

We call the first four books of the Bible the Gospels because they document the life of Jesus and were written by four apostles. The canon is closed. I personally find it irreverant to call a theory the Fifth Gospel. It is more acceptable for Rudolf Stiener to, perhaps, in an attempt to ‘sensationalize’ and call attention to his work, to call his series the “Fifth Gospel” but, for someone who is alledging to be Catholic and to be presenting a theory of our faith to call his theory a Fifth Gospel can be offensive and this would certainly call attention to the theory. Then everything is smooth out and we are suppose to be pacified - this can be unpleasant. It’s a bit of a mockery.
"Of the many gospels written in antiquity, only four gospels came to be accepted as part of the New Testament, or canonical. An insistence upon there being a canon of four gospels, and no others, was a central theme of Irenaeus of Lyons, c. 185. In his central work, Adversus Haereses Irenaeus denounced various early Christian groups that used only one gospel, such as Marcionism which used only Marcion’s version of Luke, or the Ebionites which seem to have used an Aramaic version of Matthew as well as groups that embraced the texts of newer revelations, such as the Valentinians (A.H. 1.11). Irenaeus declared that the four he espoused were the four “Pillars of the Church”: “it is not possible that there can be either more or fewer than four” he stated, presenting as logic the analogy of the four corners of the earth and the four winds (3.11.8). His image, taken from Ezekiel 1, or Revelation 4:6-10, of God’s throne borne by four creatures with four faces—“the four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and the four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle”—equivalent to the “four-formed” gospel, is the origin of the conventional symbols of the Evangelists: lion, bull, eagle, man. Irenaeus was ultimately successful in declaring that the four gospels collectively, and exclusively these four, contained the truth. He also supported reading each gospel in light of the others.

By the turn of the 5th century, the Catholic Church in the west, under Pope Innocent I, recognized a biblical canon including the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, which had been previously established at a number of regional Synods, namely the Council of Rome (382), the Synod of Hippo (393), and two Synods of Carthage (397 and 419).[28] This canon, which corresponds to the modern Catholic canon, was used in the Vulgate, an early 5th century translation of the Bible made by Jerome[29] under the commission of Pope Damasus I in 382." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel#Canonical_gospels

These are four books of the Bible documenting the life of Jesus - one Gospel.

Briefly, in regards to the Gospel of Creation. There is only one gospel. It’s like we are talking of different parts or views of the same elephant but there is the elephant. Paul was NOT talking about a different gospel he was talking about the same gospel as the apostles.

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

I always wondered how people get involved in cults. Now I have a little more understanding.

Some people are so gullible, they’ll believe absolutely anything if the guru keeps repeating it.

To Abba

Perhaps as you say the problem is in the presentation. But more pertinent to your concerns is i think a belief on your part that I am advocating that anyone base their faith in what I am purporting. An empirical proof can never be allowed to supplant or take the place of the magisterially revealed eternal truths of Christ. Our faith must first be firmly grounded solely in eternal truths. God forbid someone should base their faith on what I am saying or on my theories. I know I don’t. But just because we base our faith on firmly established eternal truths that doesn’t mean we should be forbidden to explore how these truths might be reflected outside of the Scriptural Gospels and within the created empirical world. I claim that it is And I further claim that through the lens of mathematics another testimony to Christ can be found. In my studies of it I have not found any area of disagreement between that testimony and that of Scripture (as interpretted by the Church), and so I have no qualms in advocating others to look at it too. Now if they or anyone else can find a theological flaw in the argument it should be scrapped. But because the basis of our Faith lies elsewhere there is no danger.

That to me is one of the great things about being Catholic. As long as we stay solid in Church teaching and steeped in the Sacraments we can explore any belief with confidence and without fear of falling off the deep end. That is why in my opinion there are no Catholic Wacos or Jonestowns. The Sacramental Principle prevents it. But this last part is just an opinion based on personal experience… Anyone agree? disagree?
