The first step in solving problems is admitting that the problems exist. The Catholic Church is currently in a crisis state. What is gained by ignoring that crisis and pretending that everything is just swell?

The Catholic Church should not reform, nor will it. If people don’t like it, who cares, that shouldn’t stop the Church from teaching the truth.

Jesus Christ is the Word of God.
We are to be careful with our words.

No to “luck” and No to “fortune.”
(Talk about an inbred and ever-defended modernism!)

Blessed, Yes. We are blessed.

Chinese ancestor worship includes a belief in luck.
Fortunate is a term that is used in “mind reading.”

Those who would judge a reigning Pope would do well to watch their words.
I do believe that I’ve dealt with all of her arguments.

Please note: reception in the hand is PERMITTED by the Roman Catholic Church in the United States as a normal, acceptable way to receive. I will admit that I prefer the more traditional manner(s) but I don’t think that it’s ‘fair’ of you to chastise people who are following the allowed protocols as they are.

Meanwhile, what bothers me is what bothers me - and the idea of good fortune, good luck, horoscopes, tarot cards, ouija boards, all such terms of “light amusement” are simply tokens of the anti-spirituality that can face us in the larger world. Since I’ve “known” that as a practicing Catholic for about sixty years, it might be nice if you recognize my right (obligation?) to make a point about it. Anyway, for what it’s worth, welcome, I guess.

You beign to criticize me (for no known reason since you were not involved in my exchanges with others whom I’ve encountered MANY times in MANY threads as well as on this thread) but you jump in to say ‘hey, you’re annoying me and you’re combative AS USUAUL.’
