would suspect @commenter you are not referring to whether they themselves are in or outside the Catholic church. That would more than likely be making a judgement on their soul.
I certainly was not making a judgement in whether the individuals are outside the Catholic Church.

There are lay ministries operating in conjunction with the Church - approval of their local bishop, even if they are not operated, administered or financed by the diocese. Catholic Answers is one. The ministries I referred to are not so affiliated.

That doesn’t necessarily mean they are bad but who knows?

choosing not to become a married Catholic priest.
Well he wouldn’t be able to be a married Catholic priest
Yes, he would.

Listening to his interview with Michael Matt right now…interesting.

Interesting and affirming two hours…thankful to see Marshall and Matt on the same page.

…praying for a Christmas miracle.

As far as the coming storm and persecution…praying for perseverance.

I have not heard any of these converts say that they have brought their former beliefs into the Church, it is much more the case that they admit what was lacking in their former beliefs they found corrected in the dogma and doctrine of the Catholic Church. They certainly do bring along the best of what they knew before, usually with their knowledge of the Scriptures.

It is almost always the case that I fall alsleep during Marshall’s long youtube videos. I didn’t make it through with Marshall and Matt.

I was fully awake when listening to the latest from Dr. Taylor Marshall with Michael Matt. When I switched to listening to the latest from Michael Matt I nearly dropped my iPad from sleepiness. I promptly paused the video and slept and finished listening when I awoke an hour later.
The situation we are in is rapidly changing. There are two opposing forces at work in this world right now. While people like Mike and Taylor can still speak and be heard, we should listen. Mark Mallett is another voice crying out.

Michael Matt has always been what I call Solo Traditio: they believe that Tradition is far more important than the living Magisterium, and that anyone’s interpretation of it is equal in authority with the living Magisterium. They regard pontiff’s before 1958 as Popes, and those since then as mere popes.

Dr Marshall is more complicated than Mr. Matt, but I wonder if he too is part of, or compatible with Solo Traditio. I think this leads to countless dead ends, like Sola Scriptura.

For a man whose dream was to be a priest and then to get there through grueling studies, including a Doctorate…then to be ordained and be given a parish…
He had his whole life pegged out. He followed the path, and then when he discovered that his church didn’t have the Truth…he gave all that up. I think that’s a big deal. A very big deal.

And yes, he could have been a Catholic priest, even if married. You can apply to have your ordination “transferred” to the Catholic Church if you can convince them of your vocation.
Clearly TM has a vocation to spread the Gospel. He lost his career for the sake of Christ. But he’s not shutting up.
He’s awesome.

Um, of course you haven’t. That’s kind of the point. They don’t seem to realize they do it. But they do.

This is what I and many others thought but obvious Church and political changes forced me to take a second look. Interestingly, Michael Matt and his father have documented changes in the world and Church that evidence something much bigger than dispute about Liturgical norms is going on. How about watching Michael Matt’s latest video titled POPE SACHS CHURCH: Vatican Embraces United Nations Goals? You can find it on youtube or Remnant newspaper website. I provide no link. You and others can search and find if you so desire.
Michael Matt and his father were/are in a unique position by documenting and calling out like voices in the wilderness.

Refreshing and rejuvenating…but I suppose that all depends on who is looking and commenting.
Refreshing and rejuvenating to bring protestant elements into the Church? I’ll respectfully disagree.

Michael Matt has been championing Church teaching and the TLM from the very beginning. I think you’re right that many wrote him off earlier – but it’s hard to do that now given the state of affairs…

Not protestant perspectives but rather a fresh enthusiasm that is often seen tainted or dulled in cradle Catholics. Their late arrival to work in the field can produce as much if not more than someone who has labored all day.
