Jerusalem is to be Israel’s capital. Apparently, Nations have set up offices in Jerusalem already. Tel Aviv is just symbolic!
There are Palestinians on Jerusalem’s side. I called USA’s Palestinian Embassy once about another matter and he stated the Jews have been in land for thousands of years.
In 1947(?), a Jewish State was made, Palestinian land was confiscated. I think they were paid for lands? But, they demand Right of Return. Shove Israel into sea.

The truth is that I heard in real life an atheist say that the only good thing coming out of the Middle East conflict is that it proves what religions has always produced in the world and how bad they are. I was shocked that someone would go that far as to even see something positive in a war to fight religion off.

My humble viewpoint is a two state solution. Divide a line straight through the ROCK. Gaza belongs to whom ever gets Southern division. Who needs 700 sq Ft as a place to hold 1 million Arabs? I once heard a wise man say, “the world belongs to the living”. When we go back far enough, we are all related, so ancestry is not an issue. What is at issue is that land and resources are stolen from Palestinians, and religion is used to justify the take. Religion is also warped into thinking that revenge is holy or something like that.

God the Father, was hard for me to accept. He did tell them to take the Land. It wasn’t Palestine. Borders were drawn in 1949(?)by England and France. God, The Father, go claim the land. I see what you are saying, but it is unwise to judge what the tribe of Isreal did in killing the inhabitants of the land so that they have a place to live (it was a matter of survival) and it is unwise to say that God still calls the tribe to continue using evil practices to take land today. Theft is not holy.

Yes, honest objective Palestinians acknowledge that Jews have lived there for centuries, and honest, objective Israelis will acknowledge that Palestinians have lived there for centuries also, and people of both faiths have had property there.

I remember reading the views of some self-proclaimed Zionists who abhorred the taking of land and resources from Palestinians. There really isn’t a problem with Jewish people wanting to go back to their homeland, the problem is the practices of the Isaeli government.

Yes, some Christians do put Jews on a pedestal, but this is understandable given our media…

We can love them and respect their religion and heritage without giving them special privileges to persecute their neighbors. We can understand people who deny Christ, right?

Now, I argue w God on a few points. But, the Father does, what He wants. As our Faith is to assume that if we ask, it will be given… How can you explain the Christian genocide in Syria? If it was just me, kill me… But thinking of all those men decapitated, women raped and killed. Christians crucified in Syria and children buried alive, my soul weeps. I would have gone forward as a warrior to stop insanity. They were taught to be as Christ, a sheep led to the slaughter. We need a revival. The only thing that makes sense, is a great revival will come about from the blood shed of these martyrs…
I don’t have answers-Just observations. God is God! He’ll change our hearts, eventually.
If God wants His creations to rise above this horror and solve the MidEast problem, He will be greatly disappointed…

Jesus was again emphasizing that we are not to find status and security in familial connections. As it is normal for humans to be tribal, and tribes find congruity by having congruent belief systems, then if leaders of a tribe (i.e. pharisees and so forth) are against Jesus, a person in the tribe believing in Him will be somewhat outcast.

Jesus words were not to be used to justify or rationalize discord or schism.

How can you explain the Christian genocide in Syria?

It can be explained as people blinded in their thirst for justice. All people can be blind in their want of justice. For example, the people settling Palestinian land want justice, and they are blind (in varying degrees) to the humanity and needs of Palestinian people.

Keep in mind that Christian Palestinians suffer Israeli persecution right alongside the Muslims.

We need a revival. The only thing that makes sense, is a great revival will come about from the blood shed of these martyrs…

ISIS, too, was operating from a “revival” because of the blood shed by martyrs and the persecutions they suffered from different directions. Revivals based on blood are simply vengeance. Jesus calls us, first and foremost, to forgive.

This thread is aimed at flushing out exactly the kind of things you are bringing forth, and I thank you. Take a bit of vengeance, justify it in the name of scriptural “chosen people” or religious proclamations, and you have a perfect example of why atheists see nothing but hypocrisy.

I am not Palestinian. Our Catholic Church stands squarely against the theft of land and other injustices occuring in Palestine, especially the violence against Israelis, but definitely including the persecution of Palestinians. Catholics should base their views on the following, rather than Fox News or other sources:

I read the letters. I get an Israeli letter and AlJazeera in my emails. I called Palestinian Consulate in Wash. DC. As I stated he replied Israelis have been there a long time. I tried to send clothes to Palestine but I failed. I saw YouTube videos of bombing GAZA. Watching any other News stationbesides Fox is biased to L. Heaven knows, we have our devoted Dem. personages in Fox. They are not quiet. I know Juan Williams, Bob Beckel ( do you know Bobs brother is a staunch Rep and Bob isopposite) Jessica Tarov, Marie? Others. Guests on all shows have opposite ideas. I peek at others occ. So anti-Trump, I get nauseated. POTUS wears his robe upstairs and does work there before 12 noon when he comes down. He gets 2 scoops of ice cream and guests get one. Lastly, he drinks 12 diet comes/ day which messes up His brain. And he’s mentally ill. Oh yes, assassinate him. Resist him. Impeach him. Then, there’s RUSSIA, RUSSIA…

Maybe Egypt could throw in some desert? It’s mostly desert. Israel w God’s blessings, have reaped a good harvest of produce from cultivated lands. They can help Palestinians make, whatever land they have, be fruitful.
As terrorist groups became more aggressive w blowing citizens up, and sending rockets ptovided by Iran, the Israelis shoot rockets into their areas as close as possible to site of their rocket being fired.
Now, I know our church existed 50 yrs w traditions and word of mouth. But, our Catholic Bible states what I previously wrote. God says Hes w Israel. He says Jerusalem is His Holy City. I’m not making it up. That’s Gods story and I’m sticking w it. The only peace that is worth anything is GODS PEACE. He’ll make it happen in His time. It won’t happen w the hate the Arabs have for the Jews. HAMASS was a charitable organization in the beginning. Palestine killed off a lot of their children w Bombings.,
