Is medjugorji fake?

I hate to rain on anyone’s parade, but there is too much politics, disobedience, strife and just general strangeness for me to believe this is genuinely the Blessed Virgin. The seers originally said the Gospa would only appear “three more times” (repeating what the Gospa told them). This was at the very beginning, in 1981. Then after the three days were up, all of a sudden the Gospa now says she will appear “as many times as you want.”

She also said that all religions are the same to God, that is was people who make the divisions. The Gospa also took the side of the priests against their bishop and made the strange statement about unbelievers as “doubting Judases” instead of the proper term “doubting Thomases.” Etc, etc, etc.

Then there was the time all those present at an apparition were invited to touch the Gospa. The crowd stepped forward and “touched” her, stepped on her veil, and left dirty black marks all over her clothing.

She arrives every day, on time, 6:30 pm to give an appearance anywhere in the world where the seers are. I say baloney.

Yes, what the bishops say certainly clears up a lot of things!

All over Medjugorje websites, forums, etc. you will hear that the bishop(s)are opposed to the reality of these visions…but, no one seems that interested in ‘why’? Now, we see the answers.

As I said before, there’s a lot of ‘spin’ going on, in the promotion of these visions. I like to think that it began as a gesture of consolation, to the girl who’s mother had just died…but, would God allow this to get as out of hand, as it obviously has?

I kind of wish that this investigation had begun earlier. Like, before the staple of the local economy had changed from agriculture to tourism???

I don’t like to be uncharitable. But, it’s better than being dishonest…

Just Ask Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC…

So far, I haven’t seen any Apostasy that can be linked to Medjugorje.

But what will happen when (or if) the Church declares the apparitions to be not true or not of God? Will the people who have been staunch defenders and supporters accept the Church’s ruling?

I don’t know the answer to that but all this craziness makes me think it is a ploy by Satan to distract us from Fatima. Medjugorje is like Fatima on steroids. In Fatima, there were three kids, at Medjugorje, there were six. At Fatima, there were three secrets given; at Medjugorje, there were ten secrets. Fatima went on for six months, Medjugorje is going on four decades. And it sounds like the solar shenanigans at Medjugorje are cheap imitations of the stupendous “Miracle of the Sun” at Fatima.

I realize there have been good fruits, good feelings and spiritual conversions at Medjugorje. But good feelings can be deceiving. I’ll bet the folks at Woodstock had the same euphoric feelings, too. It isn’t always the Holy Spirit at work. Sometimes it’s just good times, good friends, good music or good drugs! 😁

I would expect that most will. There may be some who won’t, but I don’t see what we can do about it.

You know what? Here is my fear: the apparitions have been ongoing for decades, right? Let’s say the Holy See decides in it’s favor, and the apparitions just keep coming. What if a future apparition says something obviously heretical, like there is no God, or Jesus was the same as Buddha or Muhammed, just a man. Can you imagine the horrible loss of faith in the Catholic Church that would follow? It would cast huge doubts on everything supernatural that has ever been ruled upon by the Church. No one would ever be able to believe anything coming out of the Vatican ever again. It would be devastating. Game over.

I don’t know if it is or not. It could be one of those things like the Divine Mercy chaplet, where there some misunderstandings, or the bishops may legitimately not be convinced. I’ve read some books on the topic.

No, it won’t be easy to accept an official ruling…
Which could be the exact reason why the Pope, the CDF, and all the other Powers That Be are taking their time, in coming up with anything definite!

There is a long history behind this, of which the visions only play a small part…but, it may be that Hozer is there, primarily to give locals and pilgrims a taste of non-Franciscan leadership!

I don’t know how this works, and, as we speak, am headed out the door. I do have more to say. I dare say that many others do, too. But, it’s important to keep lines of communication open.

I recommend reading the link I gave to the other, older thread. All the links are important! Please, don’t let yourself get carried away by emotion. There’s a lot to learn, and we have been sharing some good info.

I’d like to see this thread kept going for a while…please…no arguing, or quoting things you can’t back up. I have to leave now. Please, keep the thread open for a dew hours???

God Bless! all of you!!

We are not obligated, true. But the fact is, many laity, priests, and popes do believe in Fatima and are doing, have done, or will be doing the First Five Saturday’s devotion. I don’t see any real tangible devotions coming out of Medjugorje.

Are Devotionals how we gauge the authenticity of a phenomenon or the sincerity of a person?

For all you know, many of these pilgrims are participating in the First Saturday Devotion…

The old thread I posted has a post from an optometrist. He speaks of some of the ‘miracles of the sun’:

Medjugorje - A True Confession Spirituality
And the dancing suns? How many people have damaged their retinas? Fr. Phillip Pavic, who went out of his way to get assigned to Medjugorje and spent many years there, is now on the flip side and speaks of damaged retinas in people. ** This is another reason why I’m militantly adamant in my opposition to Medjugorje, because I’m an Optometrist.** In Medjugorje, **people are told to STARE at the sun **to get see the "miraculous dancing of the sun. " People are told they’re seeing miracles.Thes…
He seems to have treated several people! These are serious burns, and some people may have been blinded. This is serious business! It could cause blindness. As far as I understand, no true miracle of God can cause such serious harm, to sincere believers. I don’t know how I forget this! It is something serious to consider, if people persist in staring at the sun!

I mean devotions actually given by Heaven to us, like the First Five Saturdays given at Fatima, the Sacred Heart devotion and the First Friday devotion given to Margaret Mary Alacoque, the Divine Mercy devotion given to Sr. Faustina, Miraculous Medal devotion given to Catherine Laboure, the Holy Face devotion given to Sr. Marie of St Peter, and the Rosary given to St. Dominic.

Is there anything analogous coming out of Medjugorje?

The only reason I got baptised there is because Jesus did that was the only reason no other and I don’t think it was a sin tbh

Doesn’t it say in the bible you’ll know it by its fruits? Btw the Indian preist of st James also saw the Virgin Mary in medjugorji which is why he became a preist

Well when I went to medj I slept on apparition hill to get a good spot to see the visionary who was coming the next morning there where thousands of people around me praying the rosary in all kinds of different languages all through the night till morning during this time I prayed for more faith I prayed so hard anyway to cut a long story short the message was about having more faith I couldn’t believe it, it gave me so much joy that holy Mary the worlds busiest woman actually listened to me I always felt invisible to god and Mary I thought there are so many people how can they see me? how can they hear me? Why would they take the time to listen to a sinner like me? I felt this way all my life until medj the pope even said “there are lots of graces coming from medjugorji there’s no denying it”

They didn’t step on her dress they touched it and as they where touching it the dress became dirty this was actual dirt but there sin that was dirtying Mary’s dress can u find this message where she said all religions are equal I have the book messages from heaven where it has all her messages in it and I’ve never seen this particular one and I do read a message a day
