Is medjugorji fake?

I wonder why one would try to poke the eye of another person.
As I recall, the seers said that when they are seeing the Gospa, they are unaware of everything around them. Seems reasonable to put that to the test. Contrast that with the children at Beauraing, Belgium in 1932, the apparition of Our Lady (of Beauraing). Those children went into a true ecstasy. They were completely unaware of everything. Doctors burned the children’s hands with matches and got no response whatsoever. The kid’s hands weren’t burnt, either, when they were examined the next day. They were completely undamaged. Beauraing is an approved apparition.

But Pope Francis said that “there’s grace coming from medjugorji there’s no denying it”

I’m not sure about the visionary s but there are too many miracles happening at medj to over look

Rosie I haven’t held much interest in Medjugorje apparitions or other Vatican approved apparitions. That is just me. Whether or not there is or isn’t a lie is not for me to judge nor comment on. I just didn’t like the finger being poked into the face of another human being, I also believe that during religious ecstasy the Lord would allow us to react to environmental danger.

If it’s a Hoax, it’s one of the greatest religious hoaxes of all time.

If it’s Diabolical, it’s done irreparable damage to the Enemy and has essentially backfired.

Regardless, if people are converting, amending their lives, and receiving the Sacraments in Medjugorje, “Who am I to judge”.

I believe it to be a hoax and the official Church decision (by the competent Church authority which is the local Bishops) that there is no evidence of any supernatural happening in Medjugorie stands valid and in force unless it is overturned by the CDF which I doubt will happen.

I disagree that it has backfired on the enemy. What is Satan’s goal in this? It is to divide the faithful and the faithful are heatedly divided over Medjugorie.

The Devil is taking a huge risk with little or no reward. Fooling people into receiving the Sacraments while hoping to cause division? Really?

People might be divided as to the authenticity of the alleged Apparitions but most are unanimous in acknowledging the spiritual fruits coming out of Medjugorje. Unlike the homemade problems within the Church, Medjugorje is not causing a schism or scandal.

That video did it for me too.

So it really bothers me when our choir sings a song about this supposed apparition that doesn’t have Vatican approval.

I find visions and apparitions to be a minefield. I want no part of them even the approved ones. Maybe it’s jsut my Protestant background but there are just too many uncomfortable questions the arise. Personally I hope it’s proven false but will accept whatever they decide obviously

The Vatican has forbidden Catholics to attend any event where the supposed apparitions at Medjugorji are assumed to be true or taken for granted.

I would avoid… perhaps spend that time and money assisting others in need as laid out by the corporal works of mercy

I was Rebaptised In the river Jordan with my parents and I didn’t feel anything in any of those places I’ve never experienced
This disturbed me. You cannot be re-baptized. Baptism leaves a permanent mark on your soul. You can only be baptized once.

I would not call it a lie, I do no think the visionaries themselves are attempting to dupe people. I think that SHE believes it, that does not mean the apparition(s) are genuine. In my opinion, some children had an experience that has since been exploited. It is sad all around.

In fact, to attempt re-baptism is a form of denial of the validity of one’s baptism. We Catholics may renew our baptismal promises, but, we do not re-baptize.

Now, if our poster was under peer pressure or was told by people she trusted that this was legitimate, she is not culpable for this act.
