1- i was not talking about the crucifixion. I was talking in general. After all, Muhammad said he will intercede for you, and he did not get killed but killed others.
1 -Did he say that? Where?

2 -Intercred means what, only to die for others?
2- is giving your life for others considered suicide in Islam? and all those Islamic martyrs who were killed in the name of Allah, they committed suicide as well?
Giving life in own will is considered suicide in Islam and in all the laws around the world.

‘Islamic Martyres’ were not fighting to get killed.
3- Jesus did not want to die for others, but let someone else die for him?
That was a plan of God. He did it accordingly. We are nothing to decide his right and wrong.

So what? can they sin even after they got changed of their nature?
Khalfan, i said we live through Jesus. I did not say our nature changed and we became angels. So we did not become angels or another species of humans. We are still humans who sin but we live through Jesus, we put our sins at His feet, we put our burden on Him, we live through Him, we did not become Him. God redeems and we accept this redemption and live through it because we can’t on our own be sanctified.

I’ve already explained how and why we are separated. Apparently you don’t understand my explanation.
You explained a thoelogy, not the reality. We believe in reality. There is no seperaton between us and God.
A potential sin is not an actual sin.
What is that mean? Is there an imaginery sin as well in your theology?
Very different matters. Sin is a measure of our proximity to God. The more we sin, the less we love God. The more we love God the less we sin. It is the act of will which permits God to act through us, to inspire our actions. We can’t overcome our sinfulness by our own efforts. We must acknowledge, accept and cooperate with the grace of God in order to overcome sin. In other words, God overcomes sin for us so that we can accomplish His will.
2008 The merit of man before God in the Christian life arises from the fact that God has freely chosen to associate man with the work of his grace. The fatherly action of God is first on his own initiative, and then follows man’s free acting through his collaboration, so that the merit of good works is to be attributed in the first place to the grace of God, then to the faithful. Man’s merit, moreover, itself is due to God, for his good actions proceed in Christ, from the predispositions and assistance given by the Holy Spirit.
You are explaining your point of view. I have my own wich is more logical and reasonable to any, even athiest.
Excellent point of departure between Catholicism and Islam.
We believe that we humans are one nature composed of both physical and spiritual components. Therefore, our spirit guides our body and directs it. It is within the spirit that we have the mind and will which decide what our physical body will do. Therefore, our spirit causes our body to sin and can also cause our body to repent. But we don’t look at it as a duality. We have one human nature composed of spirit and flesh.
CONT’D
I can agree with you.

CONT’D
Again, a difference. We believe if we hurt someone whom God loves, we sin. Since God loves all people, whenever we hurt another person, we sin. Therefore we must not only ask him forgiveness but God’s forgiveness also.
It is exactly so. But in Islam, human realtion and problems should be resolved between humans itself before we go to God. God will not forgive us if we weren’t forgiven by the wictim we sinned against.
Whereas, if we ask forgiveness to God and to all concerned, we expect to enter heaven after we have paid our sin by suffering sufficiently on this earth and if necessary in Purgatory.
God will decide that. But what we have to do here to get forgiven by wictim that we sinned against, is to be done. The payment can only be cancelled by the wictim even if the case is in the Islamic court.
Baptism is not a sacrifice. It is a covenant and a Sacrament indicating we are ready to live God’s life of grace. I am very happy that you and ParrSurrey have agreed in this denial of the efficacy of sacrifice. It is precisely sacrifice that God has taught us results from God. Our faith teaches us that God, in the person of Jesus, sacrificed Himself for us and we in turn sacrifice ourselves to Him:
The sacrifice I meant is the compensation we do for the wictim, to get forgiven by him. What you do as sacrifice? If you have to sacrifice yourself, was the sacrifice of God useless?
The result of the Original Sin is our fallen nature which makes our potential to sin even greater. Again, life teaches a lesson here. Before a man tastes a drug, like cocaine, he has the potential to taste the drug. But after he tastes the drug like cocaine, his potential to taste it again is much greater.
Sincerely,
Now, that’s about a drug. What about touching the fire? Will you have greater potential to touch fire? My dear, it is about the nature of drug and fire. What makes us to approch both is our free will and choice, which all of us have in us as it had in Adam and Eve (pbut).

1 -Did he say that? Where?

Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah:
Allah’s Apostle said, "Whoever after listening to the Adhan says, ‘Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-d-da’ watit-tammati was-salatil qa’imati, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilata, wab’ athhu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa’ adtahu (O Allah! Lord of this perfect call (of not ascribing partners to You) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established! **Kindly give Muhammad the right of intercession **and superiority and send him (on the Day of Judgment) to the best and the highest place in Paradise which You promised him)’, then intercession for me will be permitted for him on the Day of Resurrection"). (Sahih Bukhari 1.588)
“NO INTERCESSION can avail in His presence **EXCEPT FOR HIM FOR WHOM HE HAS GRANTED PERMISSION.” **

And those whom they invoke besides God have NO POWER OF INTERCESSION; ONLY HE WHO BEARS WITNESS TO THE TRUTH and they know."

i hope you won’t say Allah will refuse the intercession of his most beloved prophet who bears witness to the truth.
2 -Intercred means what, only to die for others?

Khalfan, i did not follow your discussion with DeMaria but i hae a question :

you already agreed that we all have potential to evil.

Where does evil come from in your theology? from God or from satan?

What do you do to kill this potential? and can you actually kill it?

I didn’t say that you did.
You are trying to give the impression that Islam says God created man to SIN ONLY. Islam teaches, God created man with the ability to sin as well as to love God.
Not only that, but you and every Muslim I’ve ever talked to say that Allah created man so that man would sin. That is the difference between Islam and Catholicism.
See… you keep on claiming the same thing.
God created man to worship Him and not to sin. Man decided to sin on his own.
Allah created man to sin so that He could guide Him where He wanted to. He created the evil for hell and the good for heaven.
Is that correct or not?
God created man with the ability to sin as well. He wanted us to choose good from bad. He gave guidence and gave us free will. Now, their is a common saying ‘we learn from mistakes’. This is what God too wanted us to do. God doesn’t worry about our mistakes since none our deed can touch his holyness. But he interested more in those repenters, who do return to God, accepting his holyness. This is what Jesus (pbuh) too taught in a story of two sons and a father (Lk 15:11-32). As father was so happy in returned lost son, God becomes happy to see repented sinner. In this context, what you said is correct.
Here’s the difference. Allah intended for man to sin so He created man with the potential to sin or more specifically with the ability to sin perhaps even the desire to sin.
On the other hand, God made man for Himself. He did not create man to sin. He created man to love and worship Hiim. But love can’t be coerced. So God gave man free will so that man might freely choose to love Him.
It is a matter of intent. God did not intend for man to sin. Allah did.
Again, it is theology. I have better reasonings and explanations.
Because He wanted man to freely choose NOT to sin.
NO! God does not want us to sin, ever.

God is omniscient. He knows how many will sin.

We don’t know our future. This act of God, practice of forgiveness gives us the reason and hope for life. That is my theology, you don’t have to agree.
No. The problem is with Islamic doctrine. It makes no sense that a perfect being who loves perfectly should create someone to sin.
It makes no sense that this perfect being who is all good should lead anyone to hell.
It is Islam which contradicts itself as I have plainly shown.
Sincerely,
Please correct… Someone with the ability to Sin as well.

are you saying prophet Moses got things wrong, yes or no?

it is a hadith coming from the mouth of a man you believe to be a prophet and whose words are a confirmation from Allah. This man is saying that Moses blamed Adam and Adam did not deny. Did Moses get things wrong? did Adam say : Allah does not confirm what you’re saying oh Moses because i did nothing? no. What you are doing is turning round the bush when things cannot be any clearer. If Allah wants to confirm that Moses got it wrong, we’d expect Adam to deny what he did, but he did NOT.

he was blaming him, he was not asking him questions.
Now you tell me, they both were arguing each other on their deeds in the after life. What prophet (pbuh) CONFIRMED as right? Whose arguments was wrong according to Prophet (pbuh)? He didn’t say that. It is YOU who want to misinterpret and draw the meaning you understand worthy. I said, it is not only him, many will blame him for that, but only God CAN FINALISE what was true.

My dear friend, why don’t you see, it is the same concept as I said. We born as Adam and Eve (pbuh) was born, with potential to sin which will exist in us till we die. NOTHING on earth, not even the sacrifice of ‘Jesus’ can change that potential in us. What we can do is to stay away from sining by following the law of God, living through Jesus (pbuh). If we do fulfill the will of God, we will be in heaven. If not, we will die in hell. The result of our life will be known to us only after we die. If this the case, the sacrifice of ‘Jesus’ on cross has nothing to do with us. It was totally useless as what will lead us to heaven or hell is our deeds, not that what ‘Jesus’ did for us.

Now you tell me, they both were arguing each other on their deeds in the after life. What prophet (pbuh) CONFIRMED as right? Whose arguments was wrong according to Prophet (pbuh)? He didn’t say that. whose argument was wrong according to Muhammad? Moses augument. Why? NOT because Moses got it wrong. NOT because Adam did not do it, but because Moses cannot blame Adam for being pre-destined to do his deed.

Isnt this clear enough?

no, that’s why i was not talking about the crucifixion. Intercede means also to ask for the forgiveness of others, to ask God to bestow things on people, to ask God to help people ecc.
🙂 Then you haven’t had to take this effort. I already agreed, we can pray for others. Prophet (pbuh) will pray for us. Acceptence will still remain the right of God. But we believe, God will accept his pray. What I don’t agree is, God never demanded blood of anyone for that.
suicide is not when you allow people to kill you for the benefit of others. Suicide is when you put a gun to your head and blow it up.Hitler commited suicide. People who accept their death are not commiting suicide.
Islamic martyrs had no problem being killed for a greater purpose, had they?
None of the Islamic martyrs ever wanted to be killed. Many got killed for greater purpose, but the getting killed wasn’t the purpose or their will ever. They wanted to live for what they believed and they did so.

A Christian martyr dies for the faith, but is never a martyr if he/she tries to kill another along with him/herself because of faith. He/she would be considered a murderer who committed suicide.

It came from mars in 1932. 🙂

My dear, what do you understand free will is? Evil came from free will. Satan did sin first. It is in our free will too. If we choose it, that is a sin. Satan can tempt us to unlawful things to God.

None of our potentials can be killed. I don’t know, if a DNA surgery will help.

It seems better argument than the claim of Moses (pbuh), right? That is what Prophet (pbuh) also said. Read the underlined, bolded, colored. He said, Adam’s (pbuh) argument was better. If I say, ‘Apple is better than Mango’, did I mean mango is bad???

Now, do you find the confirmation of God anywhere???

Anywhere my dear ??? Anywhere???

😛

oh my…and what did i say in my post? didn’t i say that Adam’s argument is better according to Allah/Muhammad? DIDN’T i say that?

but why is it better? is it because Adam did NOT do it? is it because Moses got things wrong? NOOO, it is because Adam did it but Moses is supposed not blame Adam who is pre-destinated . Understand or not yet?

Again,

Book 46, Number 46.1.1:

to paraphrase it : yes i did lead people astray but are you blaming me for a matter i was pre-destined to do?

in other words, don’t blame me for what i DID because i am predestined.

I dont know how else to explain what is obvious.
