Miriam had a father named Imran, or Amram. Mary had a father names Joachim. The Arabic for both Miriam and Mary is Maryam, which is how the Quran confused the two women separated by over a thousand years. LOL, what a misunderstanding.
**Maryam’s mother belonged to the line of Imran who was the father of Moses or some other important person, in the Levites. “Imra at Imran” does not mean the wife of Imran. It means a woman of the Imran tribe.

Similarly, Maryam has been described as the sister of Aaron (verse 19:28), who was the brother of Moses. The christians had been objecting to that also. Maryam was not the sister of Aaron (haroon) and she did not have any brother named Aaron. She was called sister of Aaron because of the nature of her duties in the temple were same as that of Aaron and his children.

The interesting thing is that aaron was the brother of Moses a.s. But Maryam is not described a sthe sister of Moses. She was described as the sister of Aaron.

The Jews were in great distress due to the high level preaching of Jesus and they were trapped in their bad beliefs. At that time, they went to Maryam seeking help from her so that they could be relieved from the attacks of Jesus. So they addressed Maryam respectfully as the sister of Aaron and said that she was nice and that her father was also a good man and the mother was also good (all good jews). What was the problem with her son Jesus.

These are high level language that christians do not try to understand.

** very good words above. But Muhammad cannot have any revelation or word from God. That seems to be impossible thing for God according to the church. Please be kind and stick to your words. I agreed to what you had said.**

No, that’s the QURAN’S opinion Sura 19 "Mary:
** That is good. Youhave quoted the verses of Quran. It will help us to understand things. But have to be careful with translation. I will try to interpolate.**.

27 At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought!

( She brought him (Jesus, grown up Jesus, to her people, having him carried ( riding on donkey). They said: "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought! )

28 “O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!”

( O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman rebellious!"

29 But she pointed to the babe. They said: “How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?”

**Then she pointed to the him (Jesus). They said: “How can we talk to one who was **a child in the cradle?”

30 He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;

31 "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;

32 "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable;

33 “So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)”!

34 Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.

35 It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, “Be”, and it is.

** I had no need to interpolate anything in the translation of verses 30th to 35. The translation is quite good. Thanks**.

John. Matthew.
Who wrote the Quran? You claim the Muhammad couldn’t, because you claim he was illiterate.

Convert, you have been told several times that some posters, for various reasons, have trouble with your ecclectic choices of fonts, colors, etc. Your response: I don’t care.

It’s hard to lower the bar when it’s rolling of the floor.

As my priest says, “the Good Lord only gave you four cheeks.”

**There is no such verse about private parts in the Quran. Quran is not as bad the bible in which it is said that angel went into her. What do you understand by the words “Went into her?”

When you read that “Went into her” then please keep in mind the words of the daughters of LOT who used similar words that there was no one who could come into them… See that in the OT.

You want the world to believe the impossibles. That a ghost can make a lady pregnant? How is that. While you do not agree to any other sensible things. Nobody would believe your impossible theology.
**
Where do you find the phrase “went into her”? Chapter and verse, please.

And the Holy Spirit (or Ghost) isn’t a “ghost” in the modern sense of the word…the Holy Spirit is ALMIGHTY GOD, the Third Person of the Trinity, and He can do anything. Do you really think that GOD, who created the heavens and the earth from NOTHING, could not make a Virgin conceive and bear a son?

**Jesus died a natural death very long time after he fled the scene from palestine and migrated to some other land… But that does not mean he died on the cross. Jesus did not die on the cross. When he was brought down from the cross he had fainted and appeared to be dead. His legs were not broken. He was not buried.

I say that Jesus did not die on the cross. he survived the trial on the cross because he had prayed to his God to save him. God accepted his prayer and miraculously saved Jesus from the bad (cursed) death on the cross.

But since he was a condemned man, he could not appear in public. He never went back to his enemies to show them that he was alive (That he came back from the dead). He rather peacefully, in a hurry, disappeared from the scene. They planned to tell every one that he had gone up to Father so that nobody goes looking for him. Other wise the Jews would catch him again and he would be crucified the second time. (once more).

Angelos, you keep on telling us your theory. But we Muslims know all that happened to Jesus. Thanks angelos for telling us your version of the Jesus story.**
And thank you for the Ahmadi version, almost two millenium after Christ and a millenium after Muhammad, a version even other Muslims reject.

And thank you for the Ahmadi version, almost two millenium after Christ and a millenium after Muhammad, a version even other Muslims reject.
You know, I was wondering if Planten was an Ahmadiyya Muslim because of his heterodox (by Islamic standards) beliefs…I guess my hunch was right. Thank you for confirming this! 😃

There is no such verse about private parts in the Quran. Quran is not as bad the bible in which it is said that angel went into her. What do you understand by the words "Went into her?"
The verse in question:
και εισελθων ο αγγελος προς αυτην ειπεν χαιρε κεχαριτωμενη ο κυριος μετα σου ευλογημενη συ εν γυναιξιν
The word in question:
πρὸς

A strengthened form of pro; a preposition of direction; forward to, i.e. Toward (with the genitive case, the side of, i.e. Pertaining to; with the dative case, by the side of, i.e. Near to; usually with the accusative case, the place, time, occasion, or respect, which is the destination of the relation, i.e. Whither or for which it is predicated) – about, according to, against, among, at, because of, before, between, (where-)by, for, X at thy house, in, for intent, nigh unto, of, which pertain to, that, to (the end that), X together, to (you) -ward, unto, with(-in). In the comparative case, it denotes essentially the same applications, namely, motion towards, accession to, or nearness at.
When you read that “Went into her” then please keep in mind the words of the daughters of LOT who used similar words that there was no one who could come into them… See that in the OT.
So Allah can’t do whatever He wills?

Because does not contradict Himself.

Even though we are all guilty of it, hijacking a thread is bad. Sometimes it can lead to a fuller understanding, but in most cases it is a cowards act to avoid discussion of difficult topics.

I hope this helps
"Hijacking" is an quite a choice word, considering who and what we’re dealing with here :rotfl:

Either Christianity is right and Jesus is the Son of God, or Islam is right and He is not.
**What a “either this or that…” argument!

Jesus is not only a son of God but an another god as a Jew, as ‘all Jews are gods’.

A son of God or a god means a godly person. All prophets of God were sons of God. Very simple.

But it is good to avoid such confusing terms now when speaking in English or Greek or any language other than Hebrew or Aramaic.

The actual reason why some Jews were after Jesus’ life is not that he claimed divinity or blaspheme because he did not claim he was God nor Son of God in literal sense.

The reason for opposition was the fear if they let him alone (to impress the people of Israel with his miracles), all will eventually believe in him (as an another prophet of God who came to revive the Law of God thus rule over them) and then Romans will come, and take away their place and nation. This was no doubt a very serious- life and death issue- for them who were with the Romans.

As far Jesus ascending to Heaven alive (because Jews/Romans failed to kill him on cross), is nothing new nor unique because same LORD was once about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind when he and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. Then “as they walked on conversing, a flaming chariot and flaming horses came between them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.” Ofcourse alive.

After Elijah, if Jesus, an another prophet of God, is taken up alive without dying on cross…is not a new miracle.

But what his people did when they saw this?

When "Elisha saw [Elijah] , and cried: My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the driver thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own garments, and rent them in two pieces.

And he took up the mantle of Elijah, that fell from him: and going back, he stood upon the bank of the Jordan, And he struck the waters with the mantle of Elijah, that had fallen from him, and they were not divided. And he said: Where is now the God of Elijah? And he struck the waters, and they were divided, hither and thither, and Elisha passed over. And the sons of the prophets at Jericho, who were over against him, seeing it said: The spirit of Elijah hath rested upon Elisha**. And coming to meet him, they worshipped him, falling to the ground."

Samething Christian are doing with Christ. They started worshipping him instead of following the Will of God taught by all prophets of God. Should someone blame Christ for this? No. Christ is free from what Christian are believing, teaching and doing in his name. Christ was just an another prophet of God sent to Children of Israel.

Totally unrelated to the thread. Also, who ever said allJews are gods?

Jesus became our brother only through the incarnation of the uncreated and eternal Word whilst we became Jesus’ brothers after He saved us.
**Incarnation of the UNCREATED God, became your brother? What is this?

If Jesus was incarnation of same The Father** then as per, Jesus’ words:* I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and your God.", *we too are incarnated ones regardless of whatever channel we are born through. Because whoever Jesus’Father is also our Father according to Jesus.

Without Father no one can come into being, whether thru reproduction or test tube or cloning or for the first time like Adam and Eve.

Further you also claim that we became Jesus’ brothers. You cannot be called his brother if you do not share/have same kind of features as Jesus had. While Jesus was walking in this world, all Jews and Romans of his time were actually brothers of God too because to you “Jesus and Father are one” in literal sense.

Assuming that Jesus was “only begotten son of God”, then please explain: Who performed begetting act in order to be called begotten son of God? Do you mean it was performed by God or? And where was Jesus before this act of begetting? Not existed right?. There were only TWO persons at that time? But since Nicean Creed tells us that Jesus and his the Father are of same substance and if Jesus is co-Eternal with the Father then before begetting, there was no such thing as Trinity. It clearly shows there is no such thing as Trinity.

Since Jesus is the only begotten of the Father unlike us, the children through adoption, it is unreasonable to claim that Jesus and we are the Sons of God in the same sense and manner.

Although Jesus became our brother, He never included Himself into the group of God’s children through the usage of the phrase OUR Father.
**Just have a look at the game of words played even in two different Catholics’ Bibles:

John 3:16
(as per Douay Rheim Latin Vulgate Bible)

16 For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son**; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting.

But now in an another Catholic Bible (called New American Bible):

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”

See the game? "his only begotten Son" ; is changed to “his only Son”, …Why?

Because the “only begotten son” of the Father was developed in the 4th century. Actually Jerome interpolated it into the Latin Bible to refute the claims made by Bishop Arius and his associates that Father alone was really God and Jesus was made (created) and not begotten.

Totally unrelated to the thread. Also, who ever said allJews are gods?

Who said all Jews are gods? Jesus “said” in John 10

23 And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon.
24 So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? 11 If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”… … …
34 Jesus answered them [Jews], "Is it not written in your law[Torah], ‘I said, “You [Jews] are gods”’? (New American Bible)

Catholics Bible tells us that verse 34 is “* a reference to the judges of Israel who, since they exercised the divine prerogative to judge (Deut 1:17), were called “gods”; cf Exodus 21:6, besides Psalm 82:6 from which the quotation comes.”*

Psalms Chapter 82
6 3 I declare: “Gods though you be, offspring of the Most High all of you,
7 Yet like any mortal you shall die; like any prince you shall fall.”

Here again Catholic Bible enlightens us through a footnote:

3 [6] I declare: “Gods though you be”: in John 10:34 Jesus uses the verse to prove that those to whom the word of God is addressed can fittingly be called “gods”.

So all Jews are gods.

But cross reference to Exodus 21:6 seems misleading or far fetched. Let me qoute from verse 1 to 6 to see whether it has any relevence to John 10:34 :
1 "These are the rules you shall lay before them.
2 When you purchase a Hebrew slave, he is to serve you for six years, but in the seventh year he shall be given his freedom without cost.
3 If he comes into service alone, he shall leave alone; if he comes with a wife, his wife shall leave with him.
4 But if his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall remain the master’s property and the man shall leave alone.
5 If, however, the slave declares, ‘I am devoted to my master and my wife and children; I will not go free,’
6 his master shall bring him to God and there, at the door or doorpost, he shall pierce his ear with an awl, thus keeping him as his slave forever.
7 "When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go free as male slaves do.
8 But if her master, who had destined her for himself, dislikes her, he shall let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to a foreigner, since he has broken faith with her.
9 If he destines her for his son, he shall treat her like a daughter.
10 If he takes another wife, he shall not withhold her food, her clothing, or her conjugal rights.

As this is TOTALLY UNRELATED TO THE QUESTIONS THAT YOU ARE AVOIDING, I will answer and discuss it one time only.

You are using a typical Muslim dodge. You are not quoting the verse before your cut and paste. They were going to stone Jesus for blasphemy for saying he was the Son of God. He is asking how it is different when he said it. They go on to say they do not want his miracles.

Psalm 82, in its entirety, shows that they are no longer just, even though God calls them his children. He is condemning them for it.

Now then, please answer the question.

What does it matter that Jesus is born of a Virgin. If you are bold enough, tell us who Jesus’s father is and what traits did he inherit from his father.

Otherwise, have a nice day,

Sorry, I cannot thank you for repeating your false and ridiculous claims that are supported by neither the New Testament nor the Koran.

I can only thank you for proving my point that you are not a follower of the mainstream/traditional Islam and that you deliberately ignore/pervert your own scripture as well as the accounts in the Gospels

It is rather saddening to see that most Muslims are ashamed of their own scripture. They will always close their eyes to the fact no matter how often we quote verse 12 of Surah 66 in Arabic to demonstrate how the Koran says Allah breathed into Maryam’s private part!

Aaronjo, Raul, Happyday, rational, counsel, Marysee … in short: a multiple face Muslim poster whose only job is to hijack a thread and evade the questions through digression. You deserve a medal for your efforts LOL

It seems that you cannot get any help from your own scripture (Mohammad’s Koran) to answer ralphinal’s questions. This is why you pathetically refer to some Bible verses and pervert them by ignoring the context. Very weak.

Some Muslims should stop representing ALL Muslims since the dishonest acts and foolish assertions of those Muslims are inevitably attributed to Islam.

I already answer your questions which are very simple.
[/INDENT]
Sorry, you have not answered Ralphinal’s questions because he wanted an answer/explanation from the Koran. You have actually tried to answer those questions in accordance with the assertions of the Arian heresy. LOL

More, no matter how you pervert certain verses of the New Testament and ignore the rest, your Koran teaches that no one can be called the Son of God, not even in the sense of adoption! LOL
**
Who Jesus’s father?
Let me Jesus himself answer it for you:
“I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and your God.”.
So the Father of Jesus and our Father is same, as we all are children of God…good and bad.
**
This lie is rebutted in the same Gospel:

John 5:16-18
Therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath. But Jesus answered them: My Father worketh until now; and I work. Hereupon therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he did not only break the sabbath but also said God was his Father, making himself equal to God.

Further:

John 1:17-18
For the law was given by Moses: grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time: the only begotten Son who is in the Bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

More:

John 8:34-36
Jesus answered them: Amen, amen, I say unto you that whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.Now the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the son abideth for ever. If therefore the son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Finally, there is no single verse where Jesus considers Himself equal to other humans with regard to the notion of God’s fatherhood. This is why Jesus never refers to God as OUR Father, but always uses the phrase MY Father to underline the difference.
**
But by ‘father’, if you mean biological father, then Jesus’ father is the one who was also the father of First UNIQUE Man of whole Universal History–Adam-- without him the “Mother of God” would not have came into being as we know she came.

Do you Muslims believe that Allah became Adam’s biological father?

Your assumption also entails that Allah and Mary cooperated to create Adam according to the Islamic tenet. 😃
**
What traits did he (Jesus) inherit from his father?

Same traits Adam inherited from his “father”.
**
You mean Adam was not created by God, but born of Mary through God’s Spirit? Hmm. Something new. 😃

It is by no means difficult to debunk your allegations and highlight the foolishness of your arguments. 😉
