I am catholic, and i would like to say something.

there is a thread on here that would lead you to believe that islam is evil, that it is the ant-christ, and the religion of satan. i told the poster that he was being hateful, and he told me that i have “made peace with the devil”. muslims are not satan worshipers. there are radical muslims, however, who have taken the lives of many. they are evil. but those who worship in peace are not.

ok, there are 2 things i would like to address.
You are Catholic, and we are taught in the bible that the devil can appear as an angel. An ‘angel’ appeared to muhammad didnt it.
So, there can only be one truth, either Jesus is the truth, which he is, or muhammad is telling the truth he saw an angel, which i dont believe to be an angel of God.
So, since muhammad either ‘made up’ this religion, or did see an angel, what conclusion does that come too? Who was the angel, it sure wasnt Gabriel!

let me also say, that i dont really like islam. i dont wish to be hateful, but when it comes down to it, i dont care for it at all. but i dont think people should be persecuted for beliefs.

yah that does make sense. all im saying is that we shouldnt be openly hatefull. if we truely wish to convert muslims, we must preach the truth, not start calling them evil.

no, i just want to learn more. it should be less hit and run when it comes to debate, and more straight forward, which of course involves tolerance.

so what did happen in the that 11-minute period between post #4 and #5?

Salaam/peace

I guess , holy Spirit visited & inspired him/her .
That could happen sometimes. Why rule it out simply because your religion does not believe in the Holy Spirit?

coleraine’s concerns were genuine. She was in fact, trying to stand up for Muslim rights and then you turn around to mock her?

Bravo Muslims! Bravo! I can see how Islamic chivalry works.

Holy Spirit is an angel . No angel or human being has power to guide anyone . Guidance come from God Almighty.

Nicolas : you Christianity/Christan bashing poster !!

huh…Christians are bashing our beloved Prophet day & night . We can’t bash Jesus (p) because he is our beloved Prophet , too. And you are calling me Christianity basher ? Then what’s the tag for those Christians who use nasty words all the time ?

coleraine , we are waiting to know --so what did happen in the that 11-minute period between post #4 and #5?

More blasphemy from you. If no human being has the power to guide anyone, why are Muslims still so sensitive about Mohammad? Why is Mohammad’s name in the Shahada if he has no power to guide other human beings?

These two concepts are totally unrelated.

Muhammad being mentioned in the shahadah doesn’t mean, suggest, or imply that he has power to guide human beings.

before, i dont want to be to critical of islam. i want to debate it, because i dont like it, and it hink it encourages violence “int he name of allah”. we can see this in various verses in the quaran, and in the fact that islam itself means submission, not peace. i just dont want to be hatefull about it. so, i dont like islam, but i dont hate muslims.

**Mahometans bash and even kill Christians openly all the time, even today.

Just recently three men from the parish I attend tell about how their uncle was chased into his own home by three Mahometans and killed there because he would not renounce his faith in Christ.

I can give you sites telling you more about this, if you like.

I confess there is NO GOD but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God Incarnate risen from the dead.**

Well, since you say an angel led your ‘prophet’ - what you just asserted in your first sentence just made your whole ‘religion’ null and void.

And what muslims consider bashing is telling them their own koran and hadiths - it is common for them to do this when they are confronted with the nasty stuff they omit when practicing da’wa (trying to convert us). They don’t want to tell us that the stuff they post was abrogated (replaced).

*“Allah has sent me as an apostle so that I may demonstrate perfection of character, refinement of manners and loftiness of deportment.” * (Malik, Mawatta; Ahmed, Musnad; Mishkat)

*“O Allah! I am but a man. If I hurt any one in any manner, then forgive me and do not punish me.” * (Ahmed, Musnad, Vol. 6 pg. 103)

When the attitude of the Quraish became more threatening, Abu Talib again begged his nephew to renounce his mission but the Prophet’s (pbuh) reply was: * “O my uncle, if they placed the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left, to force me to renounce my work, verily I would not desist thereform until Allah made manifest His cause, or I perished in the attempt.” * (Ibid) *“Many a community ruined itself in the past as they only punished the poor and ignored the offences of the exalted. By Allah, if Muhammad’s (My) daughter Fatima would have committed theft, her hand would have been severed.” * (Bukhari, Sahh Bukhari, Chapter “Alhadood”)

Mohammad was a human guide for Muslims and this not a feigned assumption. He was well-known for his charisma and ability to settle disputes or wage war. To many Muslims, he is not merely a prophet but also a general and a role example.

Even after his death, Muslims continually evoke his name - even in conversations. Giving him blessings. etc. It was Mohammad’s guidance that told Muslims then, how to lead their lives and its still applies today. The Shahada is the constant reminder of Mohammad’s ‘glorious days’ and Muslims still follow that example. In other words - He is still guiding the minds of Muslims today.
