the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from a Christian perspective.
There is no such a thing as Palestinian people, or a Palestinian culture, or a Palestinian language, Palestinian archaeological, no coins, nothing. “Palestinians” have their own Arab states from where they came into the Land of Israel from about one century ago to contrast the Jewish immigration.

Where is the archaeological evidence, coinage, anything?

I present to you a document produced by the UN in 2009 that details the many ways in which Israeli government committed crimes against the Palestinians since 1948: discrimination, illegal settlements, denying building permits, demolishment of Palestinian settlements, and using Palestinians as human shields.

www2.ohchr.org/english/bodies/hrcouncil/docs/12session/A-HRC-12-48.pdf

All I was hoping you would admit is that throughout their bad blood together since 1948, Israel has not been a saint throughout this either. It is my conviction that their own actions contributed to—and cemented—much of the hatred that exists today. Of course, the Palestinians who have been stubborn and violent all along. But Israel can’t hold its head high either when it comes to moral authority. That’s my point.
And my point is this is a distorted view of history. There is no fast forwarding to a particular specific point to place unfounded blame on Israel, all I see on this thread is Islamic distortion of history in regards to Jerusalem.

So to get to the point, I disagree with you “completely” and historically. Further the distorted view of history certainly does not validate the violence today. Its distraction of the current reality.

Further I have no intention of entertaining a specific point to justify radical terrorism.

First the Canaanites are historically acknowledged as the first inhabitants of the Land of Israel. The correct geographic name of the Land of Israel is Canaan, not “Palestine” and they are better known as the Phoenicians.
Who were the Phoenicians? The answer deciphered from their vials of DNA both pleases and frustrates the scientists. Perhaps most significantly, their data show that modern Lebanese people share a genetic identity going back thousands of years.
“The Phoenicians were the Canaanites—and the ancestors of today’s Lebanese,” says Wells.

Official name, “Lebanese Republic”, without the essential adjective “Arab” that is required in the denominations of every Arab state. The only mention of the term Arabic in the Lebanese constitution refers to the official language of the state, which does not mean that the Lebanese people are Arabs.

And on and on we can go. This is not a history thread. Its a current events, News thread. If the interest is a study of this facinating history than we should start a new thread on it.

But I am not going to debate distorted views of history which apparently validate the distorted view of todays propaganda agenda.

Point being Hamas is a terrorist group and “NO” there is no history which validates its genocidal doctrine.

You need to post the links, none are here repetitively. .
I gave the source:
The Tidings newspaper, the official newspaper of the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Los Angeles in their August 8, 2014 issue, page 9:

Nothing exists. No link and nothing could be found.🤷 And thats been repetitious throughout the thread. in fact I read it twice this morning just to be “positive”.

Further there is “nothing” on this entire thread but “flash points” in history to create a moral equivalence which is non existent. Searching the politics of Israel to point to one individual in relation to the government of Israel is inaccurate in relation to Hamas.

There is no moral equivalence.

Thanks

Nothing exists.
Oh? You mean that The Tidings newspaper, the official newspaper of the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Los Angeles in their August 8, 2014 issue, page 9, the paper that I have in my hand right now, does not exist?
Or that it is not true that innocent children have been killed in Gaza as reported in that edition?

Now if you scan it and post it we could all read it. Of course innocents have been killed and on both sides. And could the Jews be more careful, for sure, but Hamas at the end of the conversation has an agenda comparable only to Isis, its terrorism. Look at Egypt. And sadly Israel will in all reality have to continuously deal with them. I think Israel needs more support by popular opinion. What should we do?

I must admit that this thread has motivated me to go go deeper into this fascinating history.
Thanks
Me too, and probably others. The Zionist talk scared me, especially when it dawned on me they included America in it, in other words all of us personally. 😦

I think you are referring to your previous claim that ‘Innocent children are getting killed.’ I do not have access to the print edition of The Tidings. However, their website has an article which shares the title of your claim:

‘Innocent children are getting killed’

That article simply is reporting on a chant made by protesters at a pro-Palestinian rally. The article does not try to determine the validity of the claim.

The Great Tunnel Mystery! Guess they would not have made good bomb shelters but its pretty clear they had no peaceful purpose. Protecting the children was low on the priority list and that won’t change any time soon. Its not looking good for anyone planning on remaining in the neighborhood of Hamas. Perhaps they will be voted out.

I am guessing not, since Hamas retains its popularity due to its resistance to Israel’s economic blockade. The surest way to reduce the influence of Hamas, without promoting even more extreme organizations, would be to promote the economic well-being of ordinary Gazans. Unfortunately, past Israeli policy has been to strangle the economy of Gaza, which fuels the anger of ordinary Gazans against Israel.

Israel is in the position of riding a tiger. They are uncomfortable, but relatively safe, so long as they stay on top of the tiger. If they try to get off, they risk being eaten. Israel’s policy of economic blockade amounts to choking the tiger with a rope, while occasionally beating it with a stick. Neither of those approaches will make the tiger any less hostile. If any thing, these policies guarantee that the tiger will try to lash out any chance it gets.

Peace is unlikely with Hamas in power. However, removing Hamas from power likely depends on Gazans seeing that their lives can prosper without Hamas. To achieve this will require loosening the economic blockade. Granted, Israel has good concern to ensure that war materials are not brought in. This will require creativity on Israel’s part, and some risk. It will not be simple nor will it be quick, and will likely depend on monitoring by a neutral country. However, Israel’s current policies guarantee that Hamas, or something worse, will remain in power.

I should think the people in Gaza would see that they would have a more prosperous life style if they would put their money to positive use rather than building terror tunnels and helping Hamas fire rockets into Israel! How much intelligence does it take? It must be true - “You can’t fix stupid”!

Are you sure that these are terror tunnels and not survival methods for the Palestinians to obtain consumer goods and medical supplies which have been blocked by Israel?

There is no such a thing as Palestinian people,…
The following people all claim to be Palestinian. Are you saying that they are liars when they claim such? If so, what is their nationality according to you?
: Tawfiq Canaan • Mahmoud Darwish • George Habash • Edward Said
Riah Hanna Abu El-Assal • Queen Rania of Jordan • Riyad al-Maliki • Leila Khaled
Rashid Khalidi • Juliano Mer Khamis • Mitri Raheb • Mustafa Barghouthi
Yassir Arafat • Mohammad Bakri • Hanan Ashrawi • Nathalie Handal

Not clear to me since there have been reports that consumer goods and medications for the sick have been passing through the tunnels.

Then why have then been found stocked with weapons, IDF uniforms, handcuffs, chloroform, etc.? Source

Not Palestinian, its a western creation. No-one lived their pre 1900. It was a barren, empty wasteland. Only traffic was a handful of Desert Wanderers. Most middle age to seniors their today, they know this, because they actually know where their grandparents came from. Same as those for example in the USA today.
