some of the Pope who fathered children out of marriage.
Sorry, your answer is funny in relation to the question.
I asked: if the Pope had 4 children from 4 women would He marry the 4 women?
Anyhow, no Pope had children while a Pope. It was before He was a Pope!

Actuallly several had children before becoming a Pope, and some Popes are reported as being sexually active while being a Pope, And how do you know none had children while a Pope. Don’t ask me for links, do your own reading, no links for be good enough anyway, and well we can’t believe everything we read can we..

Boy, I do not need 1000 interpretation on whether 2+2=4.
Well as Catholic we all know the Catholic interpretation of the Bible and the verses to back stuff up , I like listening to other interprtation of Chapters by some preahers and how they relate to life. Its too bad you think the Scriptures are so shallow.

Then considering that David still sinned in his flesh of some of the same accusations you have mentioned regarding some of the men of the church. You still recognize that he was undoubtedly inspired by the Spirit.

Why would you hold those men of the church under a different standard? I’m not saying you have to endorse them. They sinned, no doubt. Does that mean they can’t speak in the Spirit? Like Peter was told by our Lord. Do no called unclean that which I have made clean (I’m paraphrasing here) .

We must judge the tree by the fruit of their tree. Knowing that none of us is the tree, but that Jesus is. We are but the branches. We should not judge the tree because of some of its branches, and still those branches may have been fruitful at some point or they can be fruitful again after they have been pruned by our Lord.

Would you judge the Bible by what David did?

Why then would you judge the Church by what some of their men do?

In Him.

I’m not judging the Church, I am speaking in defense of Luther, who I believe had the Holy Spirit in him also, along with all Christians. So when some posters like to rip Luther apart, I say look at the plank in your own eye, scernio. You need to go back and read further in the posts. Also when did I juge the Bible? I have great respect for Gods word and believe it is the authority remember.

The Holy Spirit did not start the Eighty Years’ War or World War II.

  1. “Actuallly several had children before becoming a Pope” . I sais so. when they were 16 years old, maybe. So what ?
2." and some Popes are reported as being sexually active while being a Pope" - as reported, you said. If the reporter was a Pope-hater, no problem.
  2. " And how do you know none had children while a Pope." - Are you a University Teacher? Those type of questions only were made to me in University Tests. Are you a Professor?
  3. “Don’t ask me for links” - Who told you I would? No need for you. I have got google.
  4. “do your own reading,” - That is an order? You do not know me but I am very hard to accept orders from people who have no authority over me !!
  5. “no links for be good enough anyway,” decide yourself. Anyhow, is this English?
  6. “well we can’t believe everything we read can we.” La Palisse would not say better…

I agree with you.
2+2=4 is a very shallow assertion.

People who like to blame Luther for everything should look at the time before Luther wrote his complaints, there is dirty laundry everywhere , but why rehash it. Why talk ill about men who are dead and buried. Not all his problems with the Church were ill founded or made up so he could get married. I would suggest everyone do their own research and draw their own conclusions. This is not a thread about history of the Church
anyway. Hey there is more than enough history in the last 112 years to keep us busy for the rest of our lives, depending on our age.😃 and some of that is not pretty either , on both sides of the coin.

So you have a few Popes who were breaking their celibacy vows and a few quaestores selling indulgences. That doesn’t justify getting rid of the Catholic Church any more than Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton justify getting rid of the United States.

One would have to read Luthers letters to Pope Leo X to get the full perspective and of couse take a close look at the church between the fall of the Roman Empire to the 1500’s.

While I know its true some Protestant faiths have led far from the origianal teachings, and well I don’t think we can even lump Mormons in here, they have a total different thought than us Christians do. Luther never wanted to change the basics, just the indulgences, some of the corruption going on, and of course he had a problem with the way salvation was taught as we know. He also wanted the bible to be available to all, and wanted the Church to adhere more to the Bible, he never wanted to not be Catholic, but he had no choice but to leave. He was not an ungodly man by no means, but soon afterwards the RCC started their own counter reformation and got the DR completely done in English.
Lutheran remember was a very devout Catholic, said he would die for the Pope. I don’t know, I’m sure he never meant for it to get so carried away, but the Church also refused to listen to anything he said, and he revolted more.

Here is the thing, and what I have to say is going to be hard to swallow but has to come out, there is no valid branch of Christianity other than the one originated by Jesus, which is the Catholic faith, for all others are not of Christ Jesus for even in Ephesians we are told that only one faith is valid, not over 36000 and to reference it is Ephesians 4:5

I hope this does not cause me to be blocked or banned I do not intend offence but to only offer the light of truth
