Because it is not acceptable to assert that God allows sin and death to enter into the world for no good reason. In Lutheranism, Calvary results in judgments of acquittal rather than elimination of the actual evil, let alone replacement of the evil with something better than what existed before Calvary or even Eden. She has a point. Think of this: Say there’s a lurker or two on here that wants something more in thier life. At this point, they aren’t sure, and maybe they want to turn to church, or God. They come here seeing Catholics and Protestants at each other, saying one is right and the other is not. How would they feel? What does that say about us a Christians? We could be losing people for Jesus because we bicker about whose Church is “The True Church” What matters, IMHO, is we preach the healing and loving and forgiveness that only God and His Only Begotton Son can give. Catholics and Protestents have good and bad about them. But there is common ground. Important common ground, I might add. So, maybe bicker less, and reach out more?
False premise! How can it be true for Catholicism as a whole, but not for the “Roman” Catholic Church which is merely ONE rite out of many under Catholicism?Since Pentecost, true for Catholicism but not for RC.
Exactly! One body…so how do you explain the thousands of denominations who are at odds with each other? Christ Body is one,yet at the same time divided? He has one Church body, its the body of all Christians.
Under One Head, and One Pope, if I may add.False premise! How can it be true for Catholicism as a whole, but not for the “Roman” Catholic Church which is merely ONE rite out of many under Catholicism?

You were replying to my quote below Isaiah1st bold: What interpretation of men do you read your bible translation from?
2nd bold: I agree.
3rd bold: I agree. However, do you think He wants several divided church “bodies” or one church body?
How do you reconcile 2nd and 3rd bold with your 1st bold?
In Him.
PS - You have not pointed to the first of a “lot” of traditions not found in the Bible.

The answer to your questions are given below by your fellow Roman Catholics. This is what I mean when I say about man’s interpretation of Scripture.Following the teaching of Jesus identifies us as Christians, otherwise we are simply the followers of men.

I’m confused - which post below? Are you saying something about the post by choliks or Nicea? You were replying to this Isaiah

I hope I have made the conversation clearer but yes, follow the link and you will see what I mean.I’m confused - which post below? Are you saying something about the post by choliks or Nicea?
Ok, I see now after the edit. You’re being critical of the papal office but you haven’t quite articulated what that criticism entails. I’m assuming you’ll get around to it soon - and please don’t post another 500 word essay about Robin Hood!!You were replying to my quote below Isaiah

I am finding all this very depressing, especially as I feel bound on here not to say the wrong thing. I normally come away from Christian forums with a warm glow of blessing, that is providing I am talking to like minded believers rather than atheists or the cults.Ok, I see now after the edit. I refer you back to my post (#350) which you ignored. This is the last paragraph of that post:I am finding all this very depressing, especially as I feel bound on here not to say the wrong thing. I normally come away from Christian forums with a warm glow of blessing, that is providing I am talking to like minded believers rather than atheists or the cults.
So just to finish, you will have gathered by now that I read the history books and when I read about either Protestants or Catholics I read about the oppression of people, wars and killing, and if it is the work of Catholics then it has the blessing of the Pope. Then I read what Jesus said about false prophets being recognised by their fruits and every tree that bears bad fruit will be cast down and thrown into the fire, and then you all say you are 100% behind the Pope and the traditions of men and with that in mind you won’t be surprised to learn that I am a member of a small non-denominational church that seeks to live by the teaching of Jesus.
15“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

“Convinced” I believe they said, not confused. So if u think the bible is not the only source does the bible state that? Where is it written? And if I say the bible is the only source, and it doesn’t state that, am I wrong for rejecting what i believe God would have me reject? Especially if God’s word, the bible, Jesus, says to reject those things? I say do what u want, but the catholic church has no authority to make people do anything, and defiantly not anything breaking a command set down by God in the bible.Chapter and verse where it explicitly states it is the ONLY SOURCE?
If it is the ONLY SOURCE…then why so much confusion?
Wow! What authority! You mean I don’t have to do what the Church can’t physically force me to do!? I’m so glad you gave me permission!I say do what u want, but the catholic church has no authority to make people do anything, and defiantly not anything breaking a command set down by God in the bible.
I’d say the same things we follow today, what the apostles taught.Wow! What authority! You mean I don’t have to do what the Church can’t physically force me to do!? I’m so glad you gave me permission!
Just out of curiosity, what did Christians follow before the Gospels were committed to writing?
Which they taught by writing to all Christians before the Gospels were committed to paper, right?I’d say the same things we follow today, what the apostles taught.
Amen, the letters of the apostles, I love them, good stuff to follow. Now are they sufficient? Should anything be added to what they wrote? I believe not, else our bibles would have more than 66 books…oh wait…well the new testament would be bigger, you know, talking with the dead, kissing statues and whatnot. Keep all that, I will listen to Paul and Peter and Jesus’ other apostles. They taught the Gospel, and that, if u let it saves u.Which they taught by writing to all Christians before the Gospels were committed to paper, right?
