but i don’t have to to know that if a person is espousing truly orthodox Catholic teaching and someone disagrees with taht… ONLY the true Cahtolic is right.

there is only one true christian faith on this planet and it is the Cahtolic one…

if you disagree … yes, you have a right to your opinion & you have a right to espouse it… but you are still WRONG…

other churches have some truth… but they don’t have ALL like the original Church does…

if you disagree with that… that’s your choice… but believe it or not… there IS absolute, objective truth in this world that we humans can rely on. The Church.

i feel sorry for those who don’t have such certainty… God does not want peple to live with uncertainty about their spiritual condition and their eteranl destiny…

Actually, I have read your topic about “going to church”, and I now understand that you are more concerned with everything coming to you, instead of you putting forth some effort.

You appear to be concerned because no one made a fuss over you for being new. However, you didn’t let anyone know you were new, did you? It does work both ways you know.

Yes, there is a process for becoming Catholic as an adult. It is called R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) The church wants those who wish to become Catholic to make an informed decision instead of just jumping into something.

As far as people not flocking to join the Church. You couldn’t be more wrong. I live in a rather small community of approx. 30 thousand, and we have 27 people currently enrolled in RCIA. Even if you go with an average of 10 per RCIA class, multiply that by all of the parishes in the world, and you will see a rather large number, don’t you think?

This is a non catholic forum. So long as respect is shown for the catholic religion, there is no obligation on posters here to agree with anything the church teaches.

Maybe if one finds people asking questions aggrevating, one should reconsider engaging with non catholics who want to ask these questions and find out more about the faith,

you may not be narrow-minded yourself (and you may be )… but you are definitely un-informed about Catholic doctrine and how it is arrived at… by the hierarchy of the Church. You are also ignorant of the fact that God established ONE true Church and that Church can only be the Catholic one. i’ve studied history, both Church history and other… and I’ve studied the teachings of the Church… I can see that you have not.

It just stands to reason that God would establish only ONE Church that teaches all we need to be saved… It stands to reason that He would protect it from *ever *teaching error… otherwise no one could trust it (apparently many do not anyhow but that’s their problem)… God is the personification of logic… He would not even bother establishing a Church on Earth taht could become the victim of human error and teach that error world-wide…

You left because you yourself couldn’t understand the Scriptures and what the church teaches. Now being somewhere else makes it easy for you doesn’t it. This is why I love my church because it isn’t easy being a Catholic because it is obedience and prayer.
You are avoiding the doctrinal AND moral truths of the Catholic church because hard truths demand that lives be changed.
Why don’t you contemplate the history of the Catholic church and the lives of it’s Saints over the centuries and realize there must be something special, even supernatural about an institution that can produce such Holy people as St. Augustine, St. Aquinas and Mother Teresa among thousands.
