I've been born again to a living hope through Jesus Christ. I have an inheritance in heaven that is imperishable. By God's power, it is being guarded

No, God is not the author of confusion, man is. Bible alone people is the author of confusion.
no Scripture contradicts another. but you use the Bible to bring confusion.

none of these Scriptures says that Jesus did not build a Church because He did. it is written and no one can deny it, although you try.

the many branches are the people within the Church. this is not saying that many churches with diferents teachings should exist. so dont try to use these Scriptures to justify the wrong done by man who uses the Bible thinking they understand.

shame, shame!!!
Those who are in Christ are not confused.

Snarkiest post I’ve read on here. Why are you even here, mmmcounts? To tell people how good your theology is? Why should we “get over” your heresy when you’re trying to spread it on a Catholic forum? We stick to the teaching of the apostles as the Bible tells us to, and this board is about giving Catholic answers. If you don’t want any Catholic answers, why are you here?
Sorry for making you feel bad. I do have a tendency to get just a little bit snarky when someone actually sends me a message saying “Shame, shame!!!” It’s not usually like that.

Bonus fact for you- a guy named Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger once wrote that the term “heresy” is not an appropriate description of the spiritual condition of the Protestant Christian. On the Meaning of Christian Brotherhood, p. 87, I believe.

Remember the bible was breathed into existence by God.
Really? So it just dropped down from Heaven?
Four men, I repeat four men wrote it. THEY WROTE IT. These men were inspired by The Holy Spirit to guide them but they still wrote it. Let me ask you this Hisalone, how did the bible become in paper form? Hint: pen and paper, or in this case, parchment paper…

For the record, I did not send you that message. I know you know that, but I don’t want anyone else thinking I did. I care about you, and that’s why I’m taking the time to explain the Catholic faith to you.

P.S. If the term “heresy” offends you, I will just use the word “misguided” or “wrong” where necessary. Catholics believe the Faith once delivered to the Saints (Jude 1:3) is objective truth. I’m not interested in describing your spiritual condition (God is the judge of that); only the content of your speech, which you freely give to the world by posting on this forum.

God bless.

Still waiting for hisalone’s answer to my question in post #182 :coffeeread:

I have been reading you reply’s and they are very well written. I totally agree with what you have said. I get tired of seeing how people try to add to the word of God. They don’t know how dangerous and how accountable they will have to be before the Lord. You either believe in the total word of God or you don’t. There is no in between. A friend of mine sent this quote "It’s foolish to give a precious diamond to a child that is content to play with paper tigers. Why invest a life in paper……it doesn’t last…. " As a former catholic i got tired of seeing the catholic church adding to the word of God or misinterpreting it. Please don’t waste you time with people who are narrow minded. There are many more out there who are hungry for God’s Word. God Bless

Here, I’ll give you the King James Version

Do you believe this verse?

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.” 2 Thessalonians 2:15

Do you think Paul was wrong when he wrote this to the Corinthians?

“I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you” 1 Corinthians 11:2

Did you know the Book of Luke describes itself as coming from oral tradition? Luke 1:1-4

Did you know that the Bible says that the apostles instructed the Church about things that are not in the Bible?

" Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2

Did you know that the early Christians devoted themselves to the Apostles’ teaching, including the prayers and the Eucharist, but not to the “Bible” ? Acts 2:42

Er…if you cared to take a moment to think, you’d figure out it was the New Testament I was referring to. And er…the Roman Catholic church compiled it. er…er…er…

St.Matthew, St. Mark, St.Luke, St.John, St.Paul,St James, St Peter. and at least one unkown for sure author. I am unsure as to how many persons were involved in creating the latin vulgate.

Please provide proof…

Yes four men wrote the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
That’s not what you said.

You said you were referring to the New Testament.
Er…if you cared to take a moment to think,** you’d figure out it was the New Testament I was referring to**. And er…the Roman Catholic church compiled it. er…er…er…
So, which four men wrote the New Testament?

Or were there more than four authors?

Really? So it just dropped down from Heaven?

Hisalone was talking about the holy spirit, by whom the bible was written.

…“breathed into existance”…

…see?

The original church is Jews who believed in Jesus. Jesus is the root, and Jews are the original branches. Many of the original branches were broken off so that you- a wild olive shoot- could be grafted in. All Gentiles belong to branches that have been grafted onto someone else’s tree. It’s described in Romans 11.

Whose olive tree is it? Who are the original branches? Not you, son. Let me remind you who this letter was written to specifically: ROME! This is YOUR letter. It’s telling the Church in Rome that THIS ISN’T YOUR OLIVE TREE. You were grafted in along with many other branches, and you are NOT the original branches- the original branches are identified, and get this: IT ISN’T YOU. So if you don’t mind, you can stop referring to those “different” branches as separate churches and start referring to them as “other” branches who, like you, share in the same nourishing root of the olive tree. God is not the author of confusion, but you only said that in order to throw up a straw man and beat it right back down. God’s Church is a tree with many branches that have been grafted in, and you are one of them. That isn’t too confusing, is it? It’s explained right there in the letter TO ROME.
sorry but i don’t accept protestant interpretations of the Word… been there… it didn’t work for me and it doesn’t work for anyone. …

God is not the author of confusion, but i only said that in order to throw up a straw man…

well, that’s interesting… Now i can’t say God is not the author of confusion without being accused of… whatever…

but i ought to be used to it… Ho humm…

In any case, you can belive what you want and i will beleive the Truth…

you protestants have some of the truth but some of the truth is not good enough… If it was good enough God would not have established the FIRST Church… The RCC…

all others are man-made…

It’s more complicated than that - when she said the Bible she apparently meant the NT but when she said the NT she apparently meant only the four evangelists.

Obvious really

😃

you may not be narrow-minded yourself (and you may be )… but you are definitely un-informed about Catholic doctrine and how it is arrived at… by the hierarchy of the Church. You are also ignorant of the fact that God established ONE true Church and that Church can only be the Catholic one. i’ve studied history, both Church history and other… and I’ve studied the teachings of the Church… I can see that you have not.

It just stands to reason that God would establish only ONE Church that teaches all we need to be saved… It stands to reason that He would protect it from *ever *teaching error… otherwise no one could trust it (apparently many do not anyhow but that’s their problem)… God is the personification of logic… He would not even bother establishing a Church on Earth taht could become the victim of human error and teach that error world-wide…

if you are so unhappy with the teachings of the Church why do you call yourself Catholic???

if that’s not illogical, i don’t know waht is… i would not belong to a church that i believed taught serious error…

It’s only obvious that you need explicit detail while others here seem to get it. You love trouble. Why do others here get it? And not you? 🤷

Only non-Catholics here always seem to argue…I honestly notice this quite a bit. Very Christ like…not.
