I’m appalled at how many “personal stories” of women who’ve regretted having their Abortions the Main Stream Media has avoided during the past 20 years (and esp. during this latest discussion).

With so many to chose from, it’s appalling that the Media chose the story from Rep. Speier and deliberately avoided providing any balance from any of the 1,000’s of women who’ve held signs in Pro-Life Marches saying how they regretted their Abortions…

Yes, of course!

Yet J. Speier’s is one of obama’s mouthpieces, so she gets the media’s attn.

Say what? She aborted the baby because it was not going to survive?

So she says.
In these sort of testimonials, especially those whose protagonist is a politician, one must investigate whether, or not, extraneous motives, or cooordination of purpose exists, and if they do, what is the agenda being espoused, and if so, is there at its root an arrogant cynicism which embraces the elitist sensibility toward mass manipulation.

In other words, what are her true motives, and is she being completely genuine. To find that out, we need an investigative journalistic arm which can rival that of the pro-abortion lobby. If she is doing this in concert with Planned Parenthood, on their behalf and for their benefit, then it should be brought out into the light of day.

Is Jackie Speier, in fact, a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood? They are feeling the harsh light of public scrutiny, and they will respond. However, since Planned Parenthood is a morally bereft organization, expect them to use any and all means, and tactics, with which to maintain their beloved “killing fields”. Remember, this group exists to murder the unborn. They are capable of the most heinous acts in order to ensure that their unholy work continues.

Her political party tells the story…She would have to defend her abortion, to remain a Dem. in good standing with the party… Let me see, she had the baby killed because it was going to die later on… why doesn’t this make any sense at all…Maybe it’s because I’m a male…

Actually, it doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t make sense.

Being male or female has nothing to do with it. Really.

I think there was some sort of complication with the pregnancy, not just that it was going to die anyway someday.

Because that makes it all better.

Anyone else think they are going to have a child that lives forever?

Funny that you say this because I was just about to post something very similar… NONE of us will “survive” earthly life… sheesh

A baby dying by natural causes is very heartbreaking.

But how killing the child to avoid it dying of natural causes is seen as humane is something I don’t get. Spare a baby a natural death, by killing it first? 😦

It’s a political thing.
Congresswoman demands:
“Give me your sympathy!!!”

Pardon me?

She had already miscarried and had a dilation and evacuation, which could be called partial-birth abortion, after that.
The 20-minute procedure she received, known as either “dilation and evacuation” or "dilation and extraction,’’ involves the use of medical instruments and suction to remove a fetus from the uterus after it has died. The cervix must be dilated before the fetus can be extracted, and the procedure, under some circumstances, has been labeled "partial-birth abortion’’ by political opponents.

It seems a little misleading to call this abortion, although miscarriages are also called spontaneous abortions.

What Speiers said on the floor of Congress, in the most graphic of language,
was that the baby (17 weeks gestation) had already slipped from her uterus
into her vagina - before she ever saw a doctor. Most people would call that a birth.

That baby could not be returned to the womb. At 17 wks gestation, it was
already dead, being outside the protection of the womb. That’s one of the ways
in which Speiers sounds really inflammatory. Hey, anything for politics, Jackie.

PS - there are numerous article with many details re Speiers’
statement. Probably, one could even check the Congressional record.

If the baby was already dead, then why call it an abortion? Am I missing something? It sounds like she is saying that the medical procedure known as partial birth abortion can mean something different. My mother had something like necrosis after the baby died and then she had a stillbirth. But b/c of this she had toxic shock and multiple organ failure. It’s not always possible to have a natural labor when the baby has died. But why call that abortion? And I don’t know the specifics; this confuses me. I haven’t checked the congressional record; that might be the best place to look.

Speier addresses the House on Thursday.
On Friday, she released a “clear” statement.

"…

On Friday she also put out a press release making clear that she did not want to have the abortion, performed in the early 1990s.

’The fetus slipped from my uterus into my vagina and could not survive,’ Speier, a mother of two, said.

‘Today some news reports are implying that I wanted my pregnancy to end, but that is simply not true. I lost my baby.’ … ."

It sounds as if the Congresswoman is appallingly ignorant of the difference between abortion and a d and c after a miscarriage, which apparently happened in her case.

Maybe it’s Jackie’s critics who are appallingly ignorant:

“This was a wanted pregnancy, it was the second miscarriage I had had…What these [congressmen] express doesn’t come close to the experience that a woman goes through when she is losing a baby or when a pregnancy is terminated. It’s a painful, gut-wrenching loss.”

So you dont think a Father undergoes a gut wrenching loss when his wife loses a child? And of course the obvious question is what relevance does any of this have to do with a bill defunding Planned Parenthood?
