Amen!!! In fact, you can see that most of the criticisms leveled against the Catholic Church by JWTruth have to do with Catholics not living up to the faith. And, this is in addition to his own lack of understanding of the Catholic faith as made clear in his videos.

Do “true religions” make false prophecies, and add words to the Bible to make it conform to their belief system?
The bible clearly teaches in the trinity,which your “true religion” denies, and you can even find it in your own bible in many verses, which the Watchtower has not yet changed to make it say what they want it to say.
I will respond again tomorrow with those verses, I have to re-look them up.
In this way, you will not have to argue all day, all you have to do is read your bible

I know that this sounds rough, but belief in the true God is very important, and the Trinity is the true God.

Wow, I am so sorry, I was going to give you several scripture verses that would prove the Divinity of Christ, that you could look up in your version of the bible, but they all seem to say something different in you Bible, than they do in every other Bible when it comes to those verses that show Christ’s Divinity.
I have a question:
Is that the case in all scripture passages through out the bible, or just the ones pertaining to the Divinity of Jesus?

You still might want to use the online Blue letter bible.
There you can look up not only all the different versions of the bible, but also the Greek, which might help you see what the Greek text actually reads.

You have to keep in mind that the Trinity is 3 persons, not 3 beings, God is one Being, and the persons are relationally distinct. Essentially they are 1

And in the bible where it says Jesus was begotten, that means that he is of the same nature.

A cow begets a cow, a dog begets a dog, a human begets a human, and God begets God.

I know that the topic of the divinity of Christ can become a very heated topic; even jolly old St. Nick slapped Arius up side the head during First Council of Nicaea.

Some people have asked why it is that I am not debating and discussing. The reason is because I would be here for months arguing with people. Its not my inention to argue with anyone, and naturally I don’t have that much time.

Here are a few facts about your church (and I am not critising you as an individual) and its not only the Catholic chruch, but if fact mostly all of them are guilty of these things. I WAS a Catholic and I feel that I have the right to give my reasons aobut WHY I left them.

1. Over the past 2,000 years, hundreds of millions of catholics have gone to war and butchered and murdered fellow catholics of other nations, and this they profess to do in God’s name. Look in this century. Belfast with Catholics killing Protestants and visa versa. Not only that, when wars take place, catholics GO TO WAR, and its a true fact that these people are murdering their own people, and their fellow believers. You call this “Christian” behaviour? So in other words, not only are catholics killing people of other religions, such as protestants, but they are also killing their own folks.
2. Jesus Christ did not preach war, and his followers did not go to war. The only time his followers (Peter) drew his sword, and it was wrong, and Jesus corrected him for his mistake. Look at the history of the early christians, and WHERE IN THE BIBLE does it say that its ok for a Christian to go and kill a fellow professed Christian in a war situation? The Bible does not say that its ok, and Jesus Christ did not support this kind of violence. JESUS CHRIST WAS ANTI-WAR.
3. Your church will then turn around and try to pray to God (priests on both sides pray to the same God) and aksing for his blessing. What is Jehovah God supposed to do? Take sides? Allow his professed followers in one country to gain a victory over another country and give his blessing for this? This is a disgrace before God Almighty. He would NEVER agree to allow his own people to kill their own with his blessing. In face, Jesus said “By this all will know you are my disciples, by the LOVE you have amongst yourselves.”
4. Jesus Christ was also non political. He fled to the mountains when they tried to make him a King. He said: “My kingodm is no part of this world.” The Lord’s Prayer says: “Thy Kingdom Come.” We are supposed to be praying to Jehovah God (that is his name) for his Kingdom to come. Jesus Christ did not support ANY of the political solutions in his day. Thats a fact. What about the Catholic church? They are deeply involved in politics, and have always done so. In fact, the book of Revelation speaks about False Religion being a “harlot” that has been riding on the backs of the Kings of the Earth, and they will turn on the harlot, and completely burn her with fire. Read Revelation chapter 18: Babylong the Great is the entire world empire of False Religion. Anyone that is honest hearted can see with their own eyes that False Religion needs to be destroyed because of its involvement with politics and wars
5. Sexual Immorality is rampart worldwide, and the Catholic church does nothing to stop it from happening amongs its members. The Bible says “Remove the wicked man from anong yourselves” We as JW’s do that properly. Naturally we HELP people that have made a mistake, and show willingness to adjust and change, but persons that ON PURPOSE and DELIBERATELY go against their own PUBLIC DEDICATION and BAPTISM can’t profess to bear the name of Jehovah God and claim to be a part of his Organisation. We try to follow the Bible properly. Yet in most of the churches, they ahve thrown away the Bible, and homosexual priests, and lesbians are tolerated and nothing is done to remove them when and if they are unwilling to change. Hundreds of millions of catholics just live together in sin, without being married, and they say: “We are catholics” We know this to be true, we knock on their doors, and they tell us what religion they are, and right across the world, we get into converstations with people who tell us all about themselves. So it is a FACT that this is going on, all over the world. This was another reason why I left the Catholic Church because they tolerate sexual immorality and do nothing about it. Jehovah’s Witnesses on the other hand live by the Bible standards to the best of their ability, and take action aainst those that give them (and JEHOVAH) a bad name.

There is a ton of reasons why I am no longer Catholic, but if you are an honest hearted person, they please don’t take offense at my word, but rather think about them, and if you see that they are right, then I warmly enourage you to contact Jehovah’s Witnessess in your area, and start a free home bible study.

No. There is only one reason that you are no longer Catholic. You have a god who is justice only. And may he treat you accordingly.

Every single jw that has come onto this board, that I can recall, has blasted in with their heresy, posted why they have “the truth” and no one else does, and then disappeared almost immediately.
I can think of only one that ever debated.

Back in WWII if we had followed your advice most of the world would now be under Nazi Germany rule. That means that all the Jews would have been exterminated. All of Europe would be under Axis rule and the USA would no longer exist as a free nation. There would be no freedom of religion and there probably would not be any religion at all. The Witnesses would certainly not exist as all your grandfathers would have been hanged or shot. Resistance to the State would have resulted in a death sentence.

There is a good chance that you Mr. JW would not be alive today except for those thousands of Catholics and Protestants that gave their lives so the world would be free. You should be able to figure out that WWII was indeed a just war, a war of necessity. God was indeed on the side of the just. You should be ashamed of yourself for living in a country that gave you your life without so much as a tip of your hat when the Flag goes by. You reap the benefits that this nation has given you and enjoy all the freedoms that came from the United States fighting a war. Yet you show no respect for that same great nation. You do not serve in the Armed Forces, you do not say The Pledge of Allegiance, you do not put your hand over your heart as the Flag goes by. Your religion tells you do not be part of the world so you do no good for your country or your fellow man but you don’t seem to have a problem being part of the world when it comes to working in a job next to us, or buying a home and a car. The Amish I respect as they back up their belief about not being part of the world, but you sir, are living off the sacrifice of others and I do not respect you or your man-made (Charles Russell) religion.

I second this motion and am really upset that NONE of my questions to this poster ever got answered in other threads! And I even asked other posters here to PM me if you showed up again and I never even got that. Something told me to check the forums by chance and whadda ya know here we go again!

That’s because the CC is not purely spiritual, but made up of human beings, & not disembodied spirits. If you want politics, read Romans 13; or Revelation; or any other book in the NT that is not concerned purely with the internal business of the Church. To be in society at all, is in some degree to be political: to reject a national flag, is a political decision. So was JW anti-Nazism.​

Politics is messy - & unavoidable. It would be negligent of the CC (for instance) not to give us guidance on such matters; not Christian. Churches with a long history (e.g. the CC) have had to take positions on many matters; JWs, because they are recent, have not had to take as many; may they be grateful for it.

If you’re going to criticise others, you have a moral duty to support your criticisms; OTOH, you could avoid it by not criticising us

Your reasoning proves too much. Jesus Christ Our Divine Redeemer is wholly sinless, & perfect in Holiness. Human beings are not; so, one sin is enough to discredit a Christian. So unless JWs are wholly sinless, they are no more Christian than we are said to be. ##

The book says nothing about false religion - one can be honest yet disagree with such an interpretation. Why would St. John tell 1st-century Christians about matters 1900 years later ?​

Then why is it constantly blamed for not allowing contraception, abortion, & so on ? Why does it have confession ? Not to encourage sin.​

That is a great exaggeration - besides, the CC’s not founded on our good behaviour, but on the grace of Christ its Head. So our failings are irrelevant.​

i have saidit before, and say it again. everyone on earth has the right to believe what they want. yes, even jw’s as well.

what concerns me about this belief is the mind control and the punishment they deliver for their members daring to question the society’s motives and beliefs. that is scarey.

if they did not do what they do, then it might not concern me so much. i have been a member of the society in the past, and
their practices ifluenced me greatly.

once i got out, i did the research i should have done before i got involved with them, but back in those days, we didn’t have the internet, and research where i lived was practically impossible.

so why do you post what you do about them marilena if your so religiously tolerant? why? because of personal experience and watching them destroy people i cared about deeply that were in the belief. myself included amongst those i care about deeply.

i lost a good friend to the society. so yes, i will help people to get out of it if i can. a cult is a dangerous thing to be in. most of the worlds religions are not cults. but this is one among many that are. people deserve to know the truth of whom it is they are bound to. that is why i speak so much on this subject.
