The Bible says:
In Galatians 3:10 he claims that those who labor under the law of God are under a curse.
Christians are therefore inadvertently paying homage to Paul every time that they eat pork or blood since Jesus (pbuh) himself NEVER consumed pork or blood and neither did he permit any of his followers to do so.
In other words, Christians willingly follow the teachings of Paul and other
Church leaders, NOT the teachings of Jesus (pbuh).
For as many as are of the works of the law, are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one, that abideth not in all things, which are written in the book of the law to do them.
[Galatians 3:10, Douay-Rheims]
All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”
[Galatians 3:10, NIV]
But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”
[Galatians 3:10, NLT]
For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.”
[Galatians 3:10, English Standard]
For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.
[Galatians 3:10, American Standard Edition]
For all who depend on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not persevere in doing all the things written in the book of the law.”
[Galatians 3:10, New American Bible]
The “curse” is the impossibility for any human being to obey absolutely every tiny little law. Anyone who tries to do so will fail. They are indeed cursed, but there is a way out and that is through faith in Christ. This is confirmed in the passage immediately preceding Galatians 3:10:
Therefore they that are of faith, shall be blessed with faithful Abraham;
and the passage immediately following Galatians 3:10:
But that in the law no man is justified with God, it is manifest: because the just man liveth by faith.
[both passages are from Douay-Rheims]
Let’s put the three passages together:
Therefore they that are of faith, shall be blessed with faithful Abraham; for as many as are of the works of the law, are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one, that abideth not in all things, which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that in the law no man is justified with God, it is manifest: because the just man liveth by faith.
[Galatians 3:9-11, Douay-Rheims]
We are not justified by the law, but by faith in Christ who delivered Himself up for our sins. Those who have faith are blessed, as Abraham was blessed. It is our faith in Christ that saves us, not an impossible task of always following absolutely every law. If that were the case, all of us would be damned to hell. And that is a curse.
This letter from Paul to the Galatians starts off this way:
O stupid Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? I want to learn only this from you: did you receive the Spirit from works of the law, or from faith in what you heard?
[Galatians 3:1-2, New American Bible]
Again, this establishes that no one is justified by the law, but by faith. You have (again) taken one passage out of context. Why do you keep doing that?
God’s peace to everyone!
